  • Today we will look through the oldest photographs of Atlantic City, New Jersey. While the history here is so fascinating, many aspects of the current narrative leave us desiring more information. The earliest photographs will be our fuel for discovery, and we see Atlantic City was occupied in pre-colonial times.
From its roots as a Lenape Summer Retreat, to the founding of the earliest stone masonry structures of Atlantic City in 1783, through the arrival of the first railroad to the area in 1854, we will cover all the bases of the remarkable tale we have been presented with.
What’s further, Atlantic City did not have a proper road to the mainland until 1870, yet according to the narrative we have dozens of luxury resort hotels which had already arose in the city prior to this date, seemingly without the use of proper tools or machines.

As a nj Loacal there is so much that doesnt add up about this place the sheer size of the buildings out there. There's buildings built on top of old foundations there's weird underground passages under the boardwalk that lead under the city and god knows where else. If you like the Atlantic ciy information you should look at another Nj beach Asbury Park and it's ancient Carousel station its truly something of the old world and I'd love to see what you find.

👏👏👍. Asbury park, nj,- had the worlds largest organ in a very, very ornamental building. Not only did they have to knock it down & destroy it, but, went to the extraordinary effort of scattering the large organ pipes in the pine barrons.

Book of Revelation says that in these days, information would be traveling fast and far.
It says, all things hidden in the darkness would come to the light and that the unseen will be seen.

It’s clear a lot of these old towers (like Empire State Building) were built to MOOR airships yet so hard to find photos.
So many of the world fair buildings looked like hangers (to me) in the rare photos of the interior

Images and video are great. As photo editing did exist I’m curious if any are. Edit: Wiki says Traymore was 220 ft tall (but agree prob taller) and began as small boarding house in 1879. Photos of floor plan and being demolished. Would love to have seen it in person esp at its height pre any modern work in it.

You should make a video on Montevideo, Uruguay down here in South America. This is a city started from scratch around 1724 and 1730 as a Spanish cologne, later disputed by the English and the Portuguese until gaining independence in 1830. Lots of old world buildings around here but we do have construction photos of everything. You might find it interesting. Cheers!
