Tim worked with both Avi and Jeff to help them get lower. They ALL work together, even on arrangements. Jeff did the full arrangement for one of HF's songs. I believe it was with the Oak Ridge boys.
There's nothing about Home Free that I don't like. They make it look so easy, but we know and appreciate how hard they have and still do work to put out the best music I've heard. Home Fry forever here.
One of the greatest HF songs. Appreciated your analysis. Austin is of course fantastic here, but just as important is Tim's bass throughout: seems more prominent here than in other songs.
Rob's voice is honey. There's a sweetness to it that contrasts (in this song) to Austin's grittier style. And yet, it's warm and full--kind of thick, like honey, in contrast to Mitch Grassi's crystal tones. How can anyone think these singers--or bands--need to be in competition to each other? There's so much room for this rich variety!
Check out their quarantine videos starting with Quarantine, Down to the Honky Tonk, Flowers on the Wall, Cover Me Up, my favorites Meet in The Middle and Everybody Walking This Land and their coming out with another one today Diamond Dreams
First time viewer here, saw Home Free and had to watch !!! My favorite group of guys, enjoy there music so very much, their range of songs make it so much fun. I enjoyed your reaction and your analysis of their skills and I hope you do more Home Free !!
It is fun to hear their music from a more technical perspective. I really enjoy fresh reactions more than just analysis and Home Free has so much material to choose from. Hope you will do more. They have originals from the Dive Bar Saints album like Catch Me If You Can and some older ones I love like Blue Ain't Your Color and Love Train. Mayday is a must watch.
Yes, I would love for you to do more HF reactions where you do more of an analysis of what they are doing technically with their singing. I really get into that, especially from a trained singer like yourself who can recognize special elements when you see/hear them.
Josh, i like your channel and all the knowledge you give. Yes please do some reactions and give us your take on all that you see, you see so many things that we do not. Stay healthy and have a great year !
Yes please do reviews. I get so much information from your reactions, I then can hear more the next time I listen. Do you hear what I hear is divine and has amazing arrangement. Woman, Amen/Female is a mash up of two song and is brilliant. I'm running out of superlatives... Amazing Grace with Peter Hollens and Greensleeves with Peter & Tim. Cover me up and Yours with Chance in the lead. So many more with Austin and Rob in the lead. No egos in this group, they all get a solo. Love it.
Thanks for a more technical appreciation of the skills and complexity involved in a capella small group performances. Home Free makes everything sound so easy for them that not many reactors stop to explain this. Up to 10 suggestions? Singing / harmonies / more serious side - Auld Lang Syne, In the blood, Helplessly hoping. Christian - Go rest high on that mountain (church sessions) Christmas - Do you hear what I hear? (serious) Full of cheer (not quite so serious, ie hilarious video) Recent - Meet in the middle (cheer up during quarantine) Cover me up (featuring Adam Chance - or his I can't outrun you) "Sold" is fast and fun, but probably difficult, so might make for interesting commentary. Plenty of others..... You did ask. If others follow through to the end of your video you should get more lists coming your way and plenty of choice.
Yes, definitely! If you've already seen it, say so, but give us a deeper analysis. I would enjoy that very much. (I prefer videos to stay under 15 minutes, though, in general, because I can't justify taking a longer break from work than that.) Yeah--I'd like to see your take on "Ring of Fire" or "Man of Constant Sorrow," even if it's not a first viewing.
Thank you for your interesting and informative reaction to this rather old video. Nowadays, reactions to old and not very well-known songs of the group rarely appear, but I really like this cover of them and really wanted to hear someone's competent opinion about it. Thanks.
Great to see you reacting to Home Free - this is a really early video of theirs, it was released the summer after they'd recorded the Sing-off and knew they had won, but the series wasn't shown until that Christmas. It really does show how good they were, right from the beginning. Interestingly, Tim's advice for anyone who wants to sing lower is actually to work on their higher range - he's found it's better than trying to push down to notes you can't hit yet. As for songs to react to, some less well-known ones that I love - Crazy Life, I've Seen, What We Ain't Got, Seven Bridges Road, Try Everything, I Can't Outrun You, When You Walk In, Remember This, Dreamer, Love Me Like That. But honestly, if it's Home Free, I'll be here to watch.
You have some great suggestions I would add one of their newer ones Everyone Walkin' This Land and How great thou Art. Also a Chris Rupp and Tim Foust collaboration Angels Among us.
I don't get the 2 dislikes....love your analysis & technical nuances you point out....AWESOME reaction !! Thank you for doing a Home Free cover. Have you reacted to their more recent stuff ? the Quarantine series ?
@@SingerDadReacts oh they even released a new one today.....They have put out a new video every other Friday at 12pm EST....Meet in the middle is a tech masterpiece each of the guys filmed themselves and sent it to Russ to edit and piece together because they are all at their own homes (Chance in Los Angeles, Rob & Adam in Minneapolis, Tim & Austin in Nashville) Everybody' Walkin this Land, Cover me Up isjust amazing cover of Jason Isbell's amazing song (that one you have to watch til the end, past the music video) Down to the Honkytonk etc....
Have you heard Austin Brown of Home Free do"When a Man Loves a Woman'? &" Unchained Melody"and Home Free doing"How Great Thou Art" For a big change up try "Mayday"and a great collaboration is"Beautiful Star of Bethlehem"ft The Oak Ridge Boys!
You should check out Angelina Jordan's tribute to her friend Avicii. She had a close relationship with Avicii. Kind of like Daneliya has with Dimash. So she was pretty devastated when she found out about his death. She also sings a tribute to her grandpa when he passed. She sang, 'You Were Always On My Mind' it was as tough for me to get through as it was for her. Because we feel that those people will always be there, then when they're not, guilt weighs pretty heavily. These guys are very good having sung in groups like this growing up. You have to have a pretty perfect ear to what they are doing and how you are fitting in. Acapella singing is then that much more difficult, because each of you has to maintain pitch. It is all about conviction too. You can't lay back and expect those around us to pick you up. I too like this song and it lends itself to harmonizing pretty well.
They are really great and so is Pentatonic but another group that I consider my favorite vocal harmony crossover group is “ Forestella” Once you hear their rendition of “ Bohemian Rhapsody” which garnered them international fame and then “ The Sound Of Silence” you will be hooked. The guy who does the Forestella low notes is lower than low and also the guy that does the high notes is also probably a countertenor. Their harmony to die for. Fantastic. They are from Korea. They have many more songs to explore. But I’m certain after “ Bohemian Rhapsody” you’re hooked. All love in isolation, Al
Check out Folsom Prison Blues, Man of Constant Sorrow and also Ring of Fire by these guys. You wont be disappointed if you appreciate a good bass. Loving the channel, keep it up man.
So glad you're doing some Home Free! I'd love to see your journey into their vault to catch up on their songs you've never heard! I'd suggest: Meet in the Middle Down to the Honkytonk Take Me Home, Country Roads Blue Ain't Your Color Helplessly Hoping Auld Lang Syne God Bless the USA ft Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Band Catch Me If You Can Dreamer Diamond Dreams
I just discovered your channel (and subscribed) due to these guys! I, too, discovered them on the Sing Off (I watched every season in their original airing). I also really appreciate and favor reactors who are musicians or have music background in some form or another because you give an honest critique. I know the guys aren’t perfect, but I think they’re pretty close. I like PTX and Voice Play, too, but Home Free is my favorite. I would love to see your reaction of their Crosby, Stills, & Nash cover of “Helplessly Hoping”. That’s #1 of my top 10 of theirs. The rest are below (not in any particular order) #2 “How Great Thou Art” #3 “Seven Bridges Road” #4 “Do You Hear What I Hear” (I know it’s a Christmas song, but it’s so good!) #5 “Castle On the Hill” #6 “Mayday” #7 “Go Rest High On That Mountain (Church Sessions)” #8 “Country Fried Pop Medley” (because of the fusions) #9 “Love Train” #10 “Blue Ain’t Your Color”
Just found your channel. Love your reaction and explanation....although I have absolutely no musical ability whatsoever. (I can carry a tune in a bucket & play the radio.) I will definitely be looking for more Home Free reactions. I am not a fan of Pentatonix, Voice Play or Voctave....they just aren’t for me. But Home Free, oh yes!l If you haven’t reacted to their newest rendition of zGod Bless the USA, featuring Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Band....recorded in several parts of the US and arranged by the producer of Home Free. You must listen/react to it!! Absolutely amazing and patriotic like no other! Released July 1st.
Greetings from Denmark , new sub very hardcore Fry you should check out their cover --Hunter hayes medley , for very low Tim listen to John Michael Montgomerys --Sold
please react to some VoicePlay, i really enjoyed a lot of there songs especially there rendition of oogie boogie's song from the nightmare before christmas.
Great reaction...I am a big fan of acappella groups as well...however, one of my favorites, that you did not mention, is Naturally7. If you have not heard them, you definitely should check them out. Two of my favorite videos from them are "Fix You" ruclips.net/video/-Mxjmti325o/видео.html and "Wall of Sound" ruclips.net/video/z5MkNOXSdkA/видео.html They definitely bring their own style to the acappella genre and it is fantastic! 💗🎵💗
Not to sound rude or anything but do you know other members beside Tim?? It’s kinda disrespectful to other members, at least learn their names cuz that Tim guy isn’t the only member
all I heard was you talking about Tim this Tim that yeah but it's not all about him. It's really frustrating that a group this talented and the members are largely ignored in favor of one particular guy.

How Great Thou Art by Home Free is a must!
if you have't found it yet, you'll love Home Free's version of the Crosby, Stills and Nash's Helplessly Hoping. It is exquisite.
Just discovered your reactions - love it! I love Home Free. Hearing your knowledgeable response is very cool. Thank you!
They are one of my favorite groups EVER!
Tim worked with Geoff to help him lower his range. They're friends, and often work together.
Tim is a rhythmic beast. I don't think he needs to breath. Not does the human drum kit, Adam. These guys are freaks! Amazing!
Love Love Home Free!! Please review their videos!!❤
And Bring Him Home!

"I didn't know I was lost," so they acted lost at the end. Too funny!

Helplessly Hoping is a very good one I think you would enjoy. Straight harmony no beatbox. How Great Thou Art

Some of us look for those who react to Home Free. You can't go wrong doing any of their work. Please do and I will be a huge fan of yours.
I am one of these people haha
I have this album and this song in particular never fails to get my toes tapping... which can be a bit dangerous if I'm driving :)
same here this is on my "car" playlist....I tend to speed up a little when listening to this one
Just means you get home free...i mean...faster.

For some great bass with Tim try"Your Man"! During some live concerts he has blown out the speakers!
The arrangements, Harmonies, are so good and their precision also. They just sound so clean.
Tim goes down to an Eb1 there. Incredible! You should definitely react to more of home free!
