So, the thing with DID is there's no 'real' personality. Every personality, including the host, is an alter. There may well be one that's been around the longest, who may also be the host and who uses their legal name, but they're an alter just as much as any other.
In a hilarious twist of irony, The Panda Redd, self described as flour on the spice rack of neurodivergency, did the most ADHD thing and dropped the project mid-month during NEURODIVERGENT MONTH. (This is me joking I find this fucking hilarious and I know he didnt do it on purpose. I do the same thing way too often)
I've heard several times that Spidey, especially Tom Holland's version, is ADHD coded. Which is probably the reason why I like him so much 🤣 I do agree, that we need more accurate AD(H)D representation in comics or comic related media. Why just code them in such a way, when you can openly portray them as such? 😒
Fun fact, the basis for her is Truddi Chase, who wrote an autobiography about having DID. Grant Morrision was reading the autobiography when the character concept was made. So she's based on someone real and reading their experiences, which helps to make them feel more real even in a superhero universe.
My favorite version of the Riddler is actually in Young Justice... In Belle Reve, everyone made fun of him and underestimated him for the obvious reasons, but then he was the only one to escape. And yet, even Batman wasn't worried (cuz, yknow, he's the Riddler), which allowed him to get his hands on the tech from Star Labs that allowed the mind control thingies to work. Working with others, the Riddler can be really effective.
Polaris being bipolar was handled pretty well in the show gifted. She wasn't some grandiose dramatization of a person the mental disorder. She was able to get things done. Edit:typo
Glad to hear some love for my Riddle-boi. Honestly, if there's one thing that annoys me it's how inconsistently he gets written in the comics. (Heck i'm one of the people who kinda liked the neck-tattoo/emo redesign when they tried to redesign him post Hush.) Now he's an underdressed dope-fiend who gets outwitted by friggin' everybody. Ah well...
And the 2016 run is nothing Batman could experience, so in the broad details, they are pretty similar, but when you get to the nitty-gritty they have alot of differences.
Rose & Thorn getting handed over to Wonder Woman to "cure her D.I.D." sounds like a euphemism where she got some awesome girl on girl loving and practice managing some anger/violence issues....
I was sad that ended before you could get to the Prankster, mostly because it involves one of my favorite moments in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon.
Everytime he says "i don't think that's how it works" with DID, it's pretty much the PSY community in a nutshell. There's kinda a consensus as to what it is - a response to extreme trauma which causes memory "loss" and creates alters to share the burden - but unfortunately it got hollywooded up. After it got the hollywood treatment you got a bunch of people saying they have DID (whether it's just people finally feeling comfortable to reveal or just attention seeking is debated) and now you get some Psychologists and Psychiatrists refusing to believe it exists. Compound this with the fact it primarily has been shown in females and of course you will have something at best understudied and at worst not believed. quick note i'm not a psychologists i've just had a lifelong interest in PSY and have taken a few courses on it. But this is from those experiences don't be mad that i didn't describe DID well 'cause even real trained PSY people don't.
Moon knight will always be one of my favorites I have a BUNCH (the whole stock in fact) of old 70’s, and 80’s comics of his and have yet to read any of them

Amazing comp panda As much as I would like yo see a mental health awareness moth video I realize you'd have to talk about essentially any and every comic character
I'd love it if you would talk about Nadia Pym AKA Nadia Van Dyne AKA The Unstoppable Wasp. I admit that I don't know much about Hank outside of movies and TV, but from what I've seen the writers' additude to Nadia's Bipolar Disorder seems to zig in every way Hank's zags. Also Nadia and her relationships to her friends and Stepmother are just the best and I love her books. She needs more love. Hope's great and all, but Nadia is my favourite Pym daughter.
7:56 I don't want to be that guy but in Doom Patrol #30, Driver 8 reads a poem to Cliff (Robotman) from WB Yeats, who also did the "Crazy Jane" poems, and then said Jane took her name from a sketch painting by Richard Dadd. In fact, when we first meet her in DP #19 she resambles the painting. I'm not saying these are great reasons to call her Crazy Jane but they are factors of why the character of Jane calls herself Crazy Jane. But I might be wrong on that assumption. Feel free to correct me or proof me wrong😊
MoonKnight is not Batman. Batman is a guy who decided to start dressing as a bat to scare criminals and fight for justice entirely motivated by his parent's murder, who uses his money to make/have other people make cool gadgets for him. MoonKnight was a mercenary who got possessed and decided to work as Khonsu's tool of justice. The core and motivations of the characters are very different. Also, Batman has Alfred, supporting cast, and an adoption problem. Moonknight wears white.
Off topic but can u make a mug with This is part two you know the fucking drill And ur logo on the other side or the bottom? I'd buy that one fr. One of those if u know u know kinda things
OK so I doubt anybody is going to read this but whatever here we go. So when I saw this video I was excited as an autistic person to see a hero like me. This didn't happen. Though this is not Pandas fault and I'll explain why. Just about every autistic character disappears or is "cured" in comics. I googled to look it up and it's really some bullshit. So if you were like me then I am sorry for your pain. But it's not Pandas fault.
@STRAWBERRYMUSHROOMFROGGO really? Neither of them really have the traits of adhd in woman? Harley is very physically hyperactive and not really the inattentiveness that woman tend to be? Loud and rude and annoying is a childhood adhd thing sure, not really adult woman type? Not sure bout Star, she doent really seem to have anything like focus, emotional disregulation, hyperfixation. Not to mention adhd very rarely appears without a secondary MD.
Hey I am part of a plural system. We have DID. Personalities is very depersonisong. We are people. Not perspnalities. Also "alter ego" is similar to with personalities. And while alter is better its still derived from it. Headmate, system member, etc
I personally love Hank Pym, but my main source of information for him is Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and maybe “sweet pacifist science guy,” while being exactly the characters I love most in the show, isn’t quite what he is elsewhere?
I think hulk should count as a DID character because of his relationship with the hulk sure it was originally based of Jekyll and Hyde but the personality of hulk in later comics had been developed before the gamma I believe when Bruce was physically abused by his father and also there are far more different personalities then just Bruce and regular hulk like skinny hulk and Joe Fix it I’m not an expert on that subject so I’m sorry if I get anything incorrect just thought it was worth mentioning
I know DC is often known for having better villains, but I'd say it's more that they have more entertaining or iconic villains. Most marvel villains fall into one of a few categories 1. nazis 2. Wait, that went by really fast, I think you may have pronounced the word "fugue" as "fuh-goo" just now. Which... I guess is how it's spelled, so that makes sense. But in case you weren't aware it's just pronounced "fyoog". Most commonly, for some reason, used in the phrase "fugue state".
Are all the autistic characters so new none of them existed when this was made? What about Mr Fantastic you can make a case for Mr Fantastic if Finesse wasn't around yet.
17:39 ;-; Iron Fist season 2 is monumentally good. It kicks such major ass and I'm sad so many people never watched it because the first half of Iron Fist season 1 was so bad. I order Iron Fist so much.
