Watch as I watch and react to the Jurassic World Rebirth Trailer! I've enjoyed the Jurassic movies and anything about dinosaurs in general for a long time now. The first Jurassic Park movie got many of us interested in dinosaurs even as just a fun concept for movies.
Jurassic World Dominion was a bit of a disappointment with the side story of the crops and the bugs as well as the fact that the story didn't take place in an impending dinosaur apocalypse. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom was the perfect setup for a dinosaur apocalypse direction. To be fair, some elements were interesting to see given there were many dinosaurs out in the world.
I would have hoped that this new movie with new characters would be set further in the future where dinosaurs and humans are fighting for survival against each other. However, it looks like the story line is very familiar and similar to other Jurassic movies. They may be going to the island in hopes of improving upon medical science, but they are still traveling to an island of dinosaurs.
This trailer reminds me of Jurassic Park Lost World which was good, but it also reminds me of Jurassic Park 3, which was not so good. All of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World movies are enjoyable as thriller action monster movies, but I still want them to have a captivating story and interesting characters.
I was planning on seeing this movie no matter what the trailer looks like, but after having seen it, I'm slightly more excited for the movie. However, I'm preparing myself to accept a lack of a strong story. It does appear to be difficult to make these types of monster movies work. The balance between monsters and people can be tricky. When the recent Godzilla movies focus too much on the human characters, they don't seem to work. The first Jurassic Park movie remains one of the best examples of balance to this day.
