What a wonderful tutorial Sherry. Matching papers is an important part of paper crafting. I’m older than you and I always thought only a solid matched a pattern. That was how it was just as you said. Then I began to learn more and my horizons expanded. Thanks a lot to cable TV and designers I learned we had more options. I love how you give us processes and don’t just teach us to do what you do. That is truly teaching. 💙💙💙
You’re right, Sherry. I’m always stuck with the matchy-matchy! Green has to go with green, pink has to go with pink, etc. Thanks for encouraging and instructing us to branch out!
That little black strip is worth its weight in gold! Wow, did I ever learn something with this video. Matching colors, using colors and the idea of color is one primary reason I craft with papers. Plus, I am not a painter, lol. Being able to watch more videos focusing on color matching, patterns, etc., is going to be great! Thanks, Sherry! 💙💙
Sherry I love your new hairstyle! I have gotten so many orders on some of your crafts that I have learned from you. I can’t thank you enough for adding this fun craft with paper to my list. I also went to Michael’s and got the scrapbook Blue Meadow for $7.49 thanks to one of your followers. If you buy it in store it was buy one get one free! 💙
Hi Sherry, I have watched and replayed three times. I think this will be very helpful for tips for matching my papers. I appreciate it very much. Happy Crafting! Glad your going have a series, how fun this will be. I always have my favorites, but to use once that are not together, these tips will be so great. Busy start of the year, this month is flying. Happy Paper Matching, Crafting! 💞☕️ Jennifer
Thank you for this, I absolutely love this because that’s what I struggle with when I do try to craft. And that little black strip made all the difference on some of those patterns.
Woo Hoo!! Got my mystery box ordered!! Can’t wait for it to get here…better than Christmas!! Thank you for the VERY helpful, informative and educational video. It helps us a lot (especially those who were raised to match our clothes 🤭). EXCELLENT TUTORIAL!! 💙💙💙
Thank you, Sherry, for this Master Class on this part of the design process. This is the area I struggle with the most. I know what I want to make but choosing papers is really hard for me. Your tutorial makes it a lot easier 🥰
I've always been a day late and a dollar short for the mystery boxes, but I got one this time!!! I'm so excited!!!! Thank you for today's video. I definitely have trouble matching papers. You've made it a lot easier for me.
This is another subject I have learned from you over time. Color theory. I was always afraid of which color goes with what. And I have learned to relax and play with what works. Thank you!
I needed this video I struggle with combinations. I was surprised how the worded paper actually worked. And the black strip is such a good tool for determining if papers go together. I have a separate playlist that contains all of your tips and pointers. You always tell people they don’t have to use or do as you do, but I value your knowledge and appreciate you sharing.
Thank you for explaining how things work. You have a good eye on what goes together I'm kind of poor at that but I'll keep learning from you as time goes on. Keep doing this kind of videos you are very talented and gifted.
This is great ~ Thank you! I have so many paper pads and have always tried to figure out how to make them work. I would have never put the stripes and flowers together but it makes so much sense now. I love the idea of the color strips too! I love your hairstyle (not to be too personal)
Thanks for the help, because, i would never put a floral with another floral. So now I'm going to try to do that. Ive always used pretty much a very small faint design to a plain paper with my florals.
Sherry, have you been holding out on us??? Did you go to the Rhode Island School of Design? How about California Institute of the Arts? Luckily, I didn't need to attend either one because in less than 16 minutes you have blown away my fear of matching my papers! And you're right-- I did grow up in the era of matchy/matchy, same colors or color family, which allowed only solids with prints. You always *do* have such splendid paper combinations and boy, do I appreciate you explaining things well enough for me to get a little more creative with my paper choices. I have a *LOT* of paper sitting around that I think I can use now. Great job and many thanks, Sherry! 💙
I'm really looking forward to your series on this, it's very helpful because I'm one of those who was taught to never mix plaids with florals. Thanks again for your expertise and have a wonderful day
This is wonderful. My eye gets confused at times on what works together. Your explanation is excellent. I would definitely like more of this type video!
I’m stuck inside the house. Just had what they are calling a blizzard. I live in SW Louisiana. Most snow we’ve had since 2017, 3”. We got 6” today. Love this episode.
In one of my design classes in college, we were taught that you can mix 2 different patterns *as long as they were the same colors* or mix e different colors *as long as they were the same pattern*. Of course, we still had to consider size and where they are on the color wheel yo get an "A" ! This is a good video.
Hola Me encantó la explicación de combinación de papeles yo avecé pierdo mucho tiempo en combinar papeles gracias y feliz año nuevo 2025 y te ves muy bien 😘
Great video as always xx I cant really match colours very often I think it maybe because Im colourblind . For instance the colours you said matched I couldnt see it, dont get me wrong I did believe you well you are the expert xx
