Random fact. Desmond Child composed this song (and a handful of other Bon Jovi hits). Jon actually didn’t want to use this song when it was given to him by Desmond Child but eventually did.
What a great reaction, couldn't stop smiling, when watching. Bon Jovi are amongst the greatest artists ever imo. You could choose 30 songs and they will all be great. Some suggestions "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Always", "It's My Life", "Bed of Roses", "Wanted Dead or Alive", "Bad Medicine" etc.
Completely agree. I'd like to add "Keep the Faith" and "I'll be there for you" to this list. And at least 5 others, which only proves your initial statement.
I remember sometime in the mid to late 90s (maybe even early 2000s) I made a mix CD to play at work (Pizza Hut delivery) and had this song on it. Going through all the music on it, and this song came on and the whole kitchen team started singing it out loud, managers and all. Didn't matter what age the staff were or what sort of music they were into, everyone had to just join in with this one. Such a great memory.
This is, in fact, their most popular song Their most ICONIC hit I was raised on Bon Jovi, so this is the song of my PEOPLE, and it was so fun watching you react to it!
You really gotta wonder the authenticity of some of these reaction channels. This song is one of the most played songs in radio history on English radio. It makes zero sense she wouldn’t know this song as she never grew up on a deserted island.
I love how happy you looked the second you recognized it and started singing along! If you want to get pure chills, you should check out the live version of this song from the New Years Eve 1988 special at the Tokyo Dome, absolutely amazing!!!
Jon Bon Jovi was the reason I got into songwriting. It is unbelievable how much hit songs this band has had over the years. It’s such a shame to see Jon struggling with his vocals these days but when you hear the crowd sing along to songs like this, you can see that the legacy he has and I think that’s pretty cool.
There were better selections though. I'd personally replace "Social Disease" w/ "Edge of a Broken Heart" as well as "Wild in the Streets" w/ "Borderline".
This is their signature song, their national anthem, but in their long career, they collected a LOT of iconic songs. Maybe the most proficuous hit single in terms of selling is "Always". I suggest to you to complete the Holy Trinity of their most celebrated early hits: "You Give Love a Bad Name" and especially "Wanted Dead or Alive".
Jon Bon Jovi and his band used to play a lot down in Asbury Park, NJ when he was starting out on the late seventies into the early eighties. While I spent a lot of time hanging out there around the same time, I never saw him play. Spent most of my time at the Stone Pony listening to Springsteen and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. His crowd was a few years younger than the one I hung with.
Brings back lot of memories cruising the summer streets in 87 in the car with Bon Jovi, Maiden, the Crue and the rest of the hair bands blasting out of the car the late 80s the best time of my life.
For sure there will be old songs that people have heard growing up. Same thing happened to me when I was growing up in the 90s. But when I took the time to listen to the full songs I was amazed and discovered them for the first time. Ultimately that's what people (like me) who watch reaction videos want to see. So don't worry about it. Just keep on doing the reactions.
You need to react to more Bon Jovi. One of the greatest hit makers of their generation. They've had hits in the 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's. It's a great rabbit hole to go down
Anything 80's to mid 90's Bon Jovi is magic. So many great songs. His ballads are really good too, like "Allways" one you've probably heard. And thank you for not pausing the video 10 times. You get it. Top job.
Oh for the days when music was actually made to make you feel good and lift your spirits :) As others have said, Bon Jovi hardly put a foot wrong during their career and made some truly great songs - Runaway, Tokyo Road and Shot Through the Heart are some other favourites of mine.
I remember my girlfriend watching this video, and Bon Jovi, for the first time I told her, "You might like this," she said "whatever" then saw Jon and said, "Well now, wait a minute." Cheers.
Jon Bon Jovi is gorgeous and Bon Jovi is one of the most amazing bands ever! ...You should react to "Bad Medicine" or "I'll be there for you" from the 80's :) ..Great reaction!
at my university here in the us we play this song during football games (its like our unofficial school song) and there is nothing quite like the whole stadium singing this song!
The other really big song by Bon Jovi is "You give love a bad name". I also recommend checking out the band Shinedown. A good first song to check out to get the gist of them would be "Second Chance" or "Sound of Madness".
This is one of their best songs. One of their other bigger hits is You Give Love a Bad Name, but I think their most popular song is Wanted Dead or Alive. And their song Blaze of Glory is also a great song.
Only have seen them once live back on their 7800 Farenheit tour when they opened for Ratt (Invasion of Your Privacy tour). Which was their album before Slippery When Wet that this is off of. Even then, it was soooo obvious that they had that lightning in a bottle so to speak and Jon was already a phenomenal frontman. You could tell they were going to hit it big.
When Bon Jovi was big, I was young and snobby, and looked down my nose at them as a "hair band", and even if I actually thought something had a good hook, I didn't admit that to many people. To me, it wasn't cool to like Bon Jovi. Luckily, I matured, and though it took a while I eventually came to allow myself to enjoy music even if I didn't "respect" it. That sounds harsh, but I was a young musician who loved complexity, and with few exceptions I was dismissive of simple music. Now days (if you didn't get it from the "When Bon Jovi was big" line above, I'm old) I am very comfortable enjoying catchy music, even if it's not harmonically and rhythmically engaging. 4 chords, 3 chords... whatever... 4/4 time... sure. It's fine. I'm glad I got over myself enough to be "okay" with accepting that I enjoy the music I enjoy, and that's really all there is to it. Sure, I might appreciate more complicated music on a different level, but it's fine to listen to anything if I like it for what it is. There is still a part of me... that long gone "snob"... it's creeping around in my head somewhere. I don't want to say that this is my genuine opinion, but that part of me says, "Bon Jovi is awful... except for the few times they aren't. Then they are awesome." That's really just recidivism. I don't own that statement. I will not defend that position. But, uh, yeah... it's a part of me too. This song, Bon Jovi is awesome.
Growing up as a guy on the Jersey Shore during the 90s. You always swore that you never liked Bon jovi. But Loki you know the words to every single song. And when you go to a bar on the Jersey Shore everybody screams out loud this song when it's playing.
Thanks to MTV back in the day when they actually played videos the made it possible for so many artists to make some change. These guys were more than "pretty". They actually brought talent with them and sold it to us. Good for them. Most of the other songs are already listed so a repeat isn't necessary. It's too bad I never got to see them live but always wanted to. I got a little turned off that Jon is a hard core socialist but that doesn't decrease his talent. If I let that effect me I wouldn't be listening to the music I do.
Ellie! What's that energy!!!! OMG. My first time and you took me in. I don't regret. Nice reation! Coolest girl around!!!Bon Jovi is one of my favorite bands..i do some covers with the band where i perform. I play guitar and we did You give love a bad name, wich is another hits of this band. Of course there are a lot more. Wanted dead or alive, it's my life, never say goodbye, etc.
Just subscribed to your channel and there is one song I listen to daily. It's called Love will Lead you Back By Taylor Dayne. The video is so emotional and the song just draws you in and omg does she have a voice!!! I look forward to seeing you react to that video and then you will see what I mean about the song!!!
First time here, i do think you wouldve been a great '80s lady! Lucky enough and old enough too, to have seen the " slippery when wet " and " jersey." tours back then with cinderella ( for sure ) and whitesnake or skid row opening acts! From west coast Canada 🇨🇦, peace.
That was a giddy reaction, finally one where you could sing and have fun along with it ;-) I don't know if it qualifies as glam rock, but Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart surely is, suggesting that one for a later day.
It's always crazy to me that so many people haven't heard famous and amazing songs. For me, if I didn't hear a classic rock song from my dad, guitar hero covered it. So to see people even today not really know some of these famous and well known songs is always interesting to see a new reaction.
Hi. Bon Jovi is amazing and you should react to more of their songs. Actually the 80,s heavy glamrock hairbands made really good music. I'm a big fan of Mötley Crüe, an american band. Started in 1981 and are still going strong. Songs to react to: Bon Jovi: Wanted dead or alive, You give love a bad name, Never say godbye..and many more. Mötley Crüe: Live Wire, Smoking in the boys room, Wild Side, Kickstart my Heart...and many more. Other bands from the 80,s is Def Leppard, Warrant, Poison, Van Halen, Skid Row, Lita Ford (one of the few females in rock, but really good) Hope you check them out.
LOOK FOR A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF "WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE" IN RUSSIA ! RITCHIE SAMBORA IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ON GUITAR ! AND IT'S THE BEST JON BON JOVI HAS SOUNDED ON VOCAL .
I'd like to suggest to you a few Bon Jovi songs that are not most popular but are a great way to see into what great musicians all of them are, esp. drummer and guitarist, and how versatile musically the band is: Homebound Train (or alternately 99 in the Shade), Dry County, If I was your mother, and Love for Sale. As a bonus - their amazing rendition of Crazy (known from Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Kenny Rogers or other country singers) with the drummer Tico Torres on vocals.
Jon smiles for the camera, and suddenly Ellie can't stop grinning. rofl. That voice was only half his appeal. You can't really make a video of it, as there's no video for it, but you should listen to Yes: Brother of Mine. I think you'd love it.
If you like Bon Jovi, I’ll Be There for you, Wanted Dead or Alive and You Give Love a Bad Name are great Also in this genre try Steelheart “I’ll Never Let You Go”....a truly AMAZING vocal performance
Bon Jovi and this song and Europe with The Final Countdown, created two iconics songs in 1986
Random fact.
I’d also suggest “Lie to Me” and “In These Arms”
And if you like your guitar solos Dry County Live 1995 at Wembley
only with Richie with out Richie they are nothing jon is unfortunately loosing his touch
Completely agree. I'd like to add "Keep the Faith" and "I'll be there for you" to this list. And at least 5 others, which only proves your initial statement.
Born to be My baby is another good one
2:44 the happiness on your face when you recognised it and started singing warmed my heart as a diehard Bon Jovi lunatic fan
I remember sometime in the mid to late 90s (maybe even early 2000s) I made a mix CD to play at work (Pizza Hut delivery) and had this song on it. Didn't matter what age the staff were or what sort of music they were into, everyone had to just join in with this one. Such a great memory.
1970s and 1980s.. the era of eargasms, lyrics, super talented musicians and style..
60s to 90s
@@jp3813 agree with this
This is, in fact, their most popular song
Their most ICONIC hit
I was raised on Bon Jovi, so this is the song of my PEOPLE, and it was so fun watching you react to it!

My top 5 favorites
1 it’s my life
2 bed of roses
3 born to be my baby
4 living on a prayer
5 you give love a bad name
It’s one of those songs that ya just can’t help but belt along with it. What an anthem!
Jon Bon Jovi was the reason I got into songwriting. It is unbelievable how much hit songs this band has had over the years. Jon Bon Jovi is the reason I got into songwriting too.
There isn't a bad song on that album. brings back alot of memories growing up in the 80s.
There were better selections though. I'd personally replace "Social Disease" w/ "Edge of a Broken Heart" as well as "Wild in the Streets" w/ "Borderline".
This is an iconic song. I've seen the band live and it's even more awesome live.
Seen them live 7 times... it NEVER gets old... however, the most recent tour... more than just Richie missing. The end may be near.
I agree. I have seen them live a few times and when you get 40,000 people singing a song it is bloody incredible. Great band!!!
The 80s bands are my all time favorite! Definitely react to more!

Bob Jovi is gold. Any concert and video. Any song. We all had the hair in 85.
You need to react to more Bon Jovi. One of the greatest hit makers of their generation. They've had hits in the 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's. It's a great rabbit hole to go down
the 80's were a magical time most of us older people would like to go back to
Truer words have never been spoken.
Sure do…

This was the music I grew up with from the late 70s to the early 9os. It was a music rennaissance.
There was literally no bigger hit song in the late 80s. This one was unbelievably popular.
VH1 top 100 songs of the 1980s, ranked #1.
Absolutely love Bon Jovi and this is one of he’s good songs. Love it xx
This is one of their best songs. One of their other bigger hits is You Give Love a Bad Name, but I think their most popular song is Wanted Dead or Alive. And their song Blaze of Glory is also a great song.
I've seen them twice live and they do know how to rock 17,000 people in one setting. "You Give Love a Bad Name" has to be your next.
I’ve seen them rock 70.000 people many times. Best stadium band ever.
When you said it was fun *I said "Welcome to the 80s " A great fun decade ...I miss it so much
A great 80's Band The Tubes ..... she's a beauty

living in the 80s was so much fun. hello from canada
I remember covering this song had the hair the black finge jacket back in day

Iconic. '80s. Song. Frickn'. Great.
You should do a reaction to their song Bed Of Roses considering Rose is part of your name! 😎🔥🤘🎸
What a damn good tight band-they were awesome in their time.
I just love young people like the music of "my time". XD
Thanks to MTV back in the day when they actually played videos the made it possible for so many artists to make some change.

You and your British reactions are Wonderful !!
That was a giddy reaction, finally one where you could sing and have fun along with it ;-) I don't know if it qualifies as glam rock, but Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart surely is, suggesting that one for a later day.
oh Motley Crue is glam rock for sure!
I love their hairstyles too...especially now that I'm going bald! 😅

You either know it instinctively as soon as you hear "woah woah.." or you don't know this song at all.
I was about 8 maybe. I remember laying on the grass and listening to My cousins car stereo...
Great reaction 🤘🏼 I never imagined about this song but it's great.

Richie Sambora is a legend
*We rocked out to this song in the discos back then!*
