Such an amazing song. I need to thank Spotify for having it in one of my playlists - now it's on my liked songs list and I play it over and over when I am nostalgic/pensive etc. Nice idea with a young girl's "brilliant eyes" - was this the inspiration for the song? For me however it resonated as a partially/unrequited love song. It took me back in time to my high school years and my first crush's brilliant eyes as well as some bitter-sweet feelings. Thanks for the throw-back to a worry-free part of my life and the warm feelings.

I shot Stay Awake, Take Me Over, and Brilliant Eyes all on the same weekend, going back and forth between the scenes of one and the scenes of another (since we reused so many locations). So it was all shot out of order. Then we stitched it together with a lot of clever editing. Most of it was shot in a studio, but we also used a cave, two beaches in LA, and even some sneaky shooting at the UPS store. :) Glass House Visuals produced it, found locations, etc. Talented peeps!
