I prefer these kinds of reactions. Just taking the song in, without pausing it and 'explaining' what's happening with her singing, as so many YT "vocal coaches" do. They're all the same, they mention a chest voice and a head voice, and they'll talk about the belting and whether or not she's a soprano, yada yada. There's that technical aspect that they tend to focus on, but most people probably don't care about any of that, and we just absorb the sound, the singing, the passion, the lyrics, and it's an emotional experience, that really should just be enjoyed, because singing this beautifully resonates on a spiritual level. I also think that Faouzia is so good that it sounds kinda weird when vocal coaches analyse her. Especially when they imitate some of her singing, when trying to explain it, but then their attempts never quite sound the same. You just have to stand in awe of her, and let her do her thing, and let her take you on this little journey. Your reactions are heartfelt and I can respect and appreciate that, and relate to that way more than when people keep pausing a performance and try to show off their knowledge of singing. It's like they're trying to steal away some of the attention that Faouzia deserves by showcasing their own knowledge of the technicalities. I know they don't intend to do that, but that's just how some of those reactions feel to me. Seeing Ginger really be affected by Faouzia's singing is way more sincere to me and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you! Some people like to learn of the technical aspects of singing and music. So I definitely think there's a place for that kind of analysis. But music has always just been immersive enjoyment for us. - G
