You are so lucky to still have your Grandparrents. They are such a blessing.
Yes he is! I wish I had mine, God bless you😊
It doesn’t get better than that! Nonno teaching his grandson to carry on the tradition and art of wine making. Wonderful!!
Teaching his nipote is wonderful 😊
Talk about spending "quality time". These type's of moment's, no amount of money can buy. As they say, Priceless!! What a blessing for this young man. 💖🙏👍
It's so heartwarming to hear Italian grandfathers exclaim "good boy" to their grandsons.
This was such a special treat to see Nonno in his element doing something that he was taught by his elders so many years ago. Something very beautiful about the process of making wine in the old fashioned diy way. Thanks so much for sharing this and all of the wonderful, fascinating content your channel puts out. I can't get enough of Nonno, Nonna and their beautiful family ❤ Im so grateful to all of the amazing Italian Canadians who chose to call this part of the world home. The amount of culture they brought here is incredible.
What an experience for you!! Nonno is a true treasure! This video was fascinating!! Thank you for sharing. I love this channel!❤

That was my father...thank you. Brought so many great memories.
7:55 "this may be the last time I do" Ugh, I hate that! I have a feeling that he's been saying that for the last 10 times he's made wine though lol i'm glad that your family will always have these videos of your Nonno & Nonna. I can tell that both of them are so special ❤ god bless your beautiful family.
Beat me to this comment 😢
I enjoyed this video and I hope Julian continues this in the future. So he can pass it down.
I love these videos of grandparents sharing their knowledge from generations ago. This is where internet really shows it's golden side. Amazing.
These are the grandparents the world has needed! Thank you for sharing their knowledge. It is amazing to learn from them.
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
One of the coolest things I've seen on RUclips. Not just as in entertainment, but as a family thing. I loved my grandfather, and to see something like this just warms the heart.
Hats off to the new generation that took time to learn what his grandfather did when he was young. Even the machine that was used in the olden days is much better than what we now use. Great grandpa and grandson at work. God bless you’ll.
Well said! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoy it!
I love Nonno. I think it’s so amazing that you’re documenting it all so you can pass it on to your family and ours. My dad‘s been gone for decades and I wish I had a video of him making his meatballs and homemade sauce. 😢 but I have your spicy Nonna in the amazing Nonno! Thank you so much for that. Girl with dogs two keep promoting them otherwise I never would’ve found your grandparents
Thank you for this window into history! It was fascinating and Nonno seems to love sharing his knowledge, which is the hallmark of the best teachers. I appreciate the work you all put in to filming and editing for us!
Glad you enjoyed it!! 😊
I am naturalised Italian. I lived here so long to see Italy as my second country. Your nonni have kept the italian spirit to the bone even living outside Italy. I love watching them ....thank you so much. Tanti saluti da Italia
Truly, the most wholesome content on RUclips.
You will look back and be so thankful you recorded this. What a wise man and I love his enormous stash of wine!
I'm taking the WSET Level 3 certificate in wine right now and I shared this with my class - it's super informative for people that are learning about the winemaking process and it's always a treat to get a little Julio time 😍 Thanks for sharing 🥂
One of the best home made wine videos I have seen. It covers all the essentials, as well as showing some wonderful equipment. I love the ratchet.
Wow, thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Is there nothing your nonno can't do. Your grandparents are so self-reliant. Bravo. They are great example for people. Bravo !
Learn as much as you can, they don't make them like this anymore :) Brilliant man.
Man, this made me miss my grandpa like crazy. Enjoy your time together! This was a beautiful video.
This gave me so much joy to watch. This is the importance of generationally healthy relationships.
Your grandpa is a gem. It was fun to listen to him.
This is life well spent. God bless your Nonno! What a sweet man!
I am so proud of Nonno. He is a very smart, hard-working man and a good example to follow . I love Nonna and Nonno so much that I am talking about them to my husband and children so much. Any chance I have. I follow Nonnas recipes and have fun watching them cooking, talking about their experience in life and whenever they fight 😊.
This is the coolest thing, to be learning from your grandfather like this. Thank you for sharing!
God bless the old timers! I am Portuguese and I remember making wine with my father back in the day! Both channels are awesome. Much much love from Connecticut!
I grew up in south eastern and worked in Fairfield county for years Never forget the homes in Bridgeport and stonington too with the grape vines across the driveways they set up pergolas and trained the grapes to grow over them in the drive and back yard amazing amazing folks My Dad was raised in Pawcatuck moved to Mystic but was Italian sadly Nonna was gone before my time and Nonno passed when i was 7 :(
My heritage isn't Italian and I grew up in the South. My grandfather used to make wine from scuppernong grapes which have low sugar content and a very unique flavor. He started doing this back during Prohibition. He never made more than for family and friends. He could get sugar from around town and not come to anyone's attention.
He also made brandy from peaches and apples.
I’m not Italian and my family came to the US several generations ago, but I was fortunate to grow up in a small town with many Italian families. Some of my friends had grandparents who spoke only Italian. I’ve always wished I was first generation, because the Italian family ties are so strong.
You are so lucky to have your Italian grandparents, who share their rich culture with you, but you already know that…
Thank you for sharing them with all of us. I just found your channel and I subscribed immediately. I’m going to binge watch now and drift off into theirs and your beautiful world. ❤
Thank you!! 😊
Grandsons thin dainty hands, grandpa's full strong hands, hardened tempered over a lifetime of real labor. God bless our fathers and grandfather's for hopefully showing us the value of honest labor and giving us a standard to aspire to
😢
My grandfather used to make wine. It was the best tasting wine I have ever had! Thank you for sharing this. ❤
Wonderful for you to have your grandfather. These are days you will never forget.
My Nonno and Nonna on both sides immigrated to Toronto in the 50s as well. My parents along with them. What a beautiful video. My dad used to make wine with my Nonno and I’ll never forget the smell! If the wine was not the best, my Nonno would put some ginger ale in it to cut the acid and let us try. At 34 I still do this if I don’t like a particular wine 😂Keep making these beautiful memories with them, you’ll never forget 🥹
😊
His smile is so good to see.True Love you are lucky.
My husband was borned in a little village called Montemilone ( Basilicata ) and he used to pick grapes 🍇 with his Nonno Rocco and transport them in baskets on a donkey to the cantina. Luigi and his cousin Ernesto did press the wine by using their feet too. It's a good childhood memory who my husband really treasures to this day. Thank you for giving us this special treat it really warms our hearts to see this done! Greetings to you all from me, Susanne and Luigi in Sweden 👋❤🍷salute 😉👍🇸🇪.
His voice is absolutely adorable😃😄
One of the best wine videos. Grandpa is adorable.❤
I love wine, and though I've been on many winery tours I felt like I learned more from Nono's explanation. This was beautifully done Julian. Thanks for letting me borrow your grandparents today, it was needed 💜
I love Nonno!!! I miss my grandpa so much, watching this made me cry! Please give him a hug for me, and let him know he he beloved by his internet grandkids 😂❤
Grandpa sounds like the godfather ❤
More like Frank Pentangeli.
Hahaha
At the garden
What a great bonding experience
Nono is a genius!! It's UNBELIEVABLE the way his mind thinks as he can make ANYTHING...God has blessed him! And now it's passed on... 🙏✝️❤️
The time making the wine is the time of the makers life. So much patience and commitment.
Brings back great memories from when my father made wine!!! We used half Red/Zinfandel and half Muscat/White. My dad would make the best Red Wine in our Community. Best Wishes!
At the age of twenty seven to still have a grandpa is a blessing!
yaa❤
I was 5 and 13 when my grandparents passed on my dad's side and 42 and 55 when my grandparents passed on my mom's side.
This was so interesting! That press with the added layers is a lesson in mechanics. I really appreciated Nonno's explanations. I hope this will be an outstanding vintage for you, Nonno!
My heart just burst open and took me back 30 years-except it was my Sicillian Dad making wine in Western Australia-don't ever forget these times!
Thank you so much for sharing Nonno's tradition of homemade wine! Beautiful!
My pleasure! 😃
New fan and subscriber here! 🙋🏻♀️
I’ve binge watched your videos 3 days now.
Your Nonno and Nonna brought back so many memories from home and own childhood. I’m from Croatia, Adriatic is between us … but culture is 80% same
Awesome and glad to hear! Thank you!
wow, what a gift... Two luckiest guys I have seen in a long long time...
I love this channel so much and I’m not even Italian. Love watching the old school stuff. Thank you and to see these young kids doing these videos on their grandparents. Does the soul good?
Fascinating video! Thank you for sharing how Nonno learned to make wine the real way. It was educational to watch how it’s done traditionally in Italian homes.

Your Nonno is teaching you some great knowledge. Thanks for sharing. Its wonderful to watch & learn. God Bless 🙌
What an honor to learn from your nonno!
I’ve made wine with a medium-sized winery for several years and it’s absolutely lovely seeing this on a smaller, family sized scale. The process is more or less the same with scale. This is a really beautiful video and I would cherish that wine for years and years after bottling.
i love your grandad ,… reminds me of my family … i’m sicilian living in england . tell yr grandad his great from me please ,.. these old things they were taught are the best ! x
Julian I would like to thank you for helping your grandparents out and in return your soaking up so much knowledge, and most importantly, a wonderful union. 🙏🏻
Why grandparents and older generations are so important. We will never learn this stuff anywhere else.
SO WHOLESOME
Such a wonderful treat to let us go through this with you and Nonno. Thanks for sharing.
I adore your grandparents and your family ! Love the content keep it coming!
You have no idea, but il nono anche la Nona are such a blessing
That is beautiful working with your grand father God bless him.
It sure is!
I've been making wine the exact same way for over 15 years. Gives me great satisfaction each year.
You're blessed to have such grandparents. I miss my maternal grandfather so much. I spent a lot of time with him and your videos remind me of this.
I used to do this with my grandad but I was too little to really understand, and now I'm trying to recreate his wine. Enjoy these times!
This was so awesome and amazing to watch ! Thank you for such a great video!!!
Great work! This is the way my nonno taught me as well. Very nice to see the traditions being passed down.
Thank you for sharing this with the world!
Nonno, my family is both Irish & Italian, associates of my Italian side had me help them as they were getting old to make both wine and grappa, what an experience and lots of hard work, from washing out the oak barrels to saving the grape skins after being squeezed for the grappa, and everything in between, seeing you doing this took me back decades to wonderful times, glad to see this being past to the younger ones, the rewards are fantastic, not to mention the awesome taste of the real deal old school enjoyment...🍇💜
Love the way ur granpa talks reminds me of my grandpa
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!
Una volta si faceva così...poi sono arrivati i macchinari moderni industriali, botti in acciaio ecc... è davvero bello vedere che ancora da qualche parte la tradizione resiste. Un saluto dall’Italia ❤
Love the grandpa!
This was an amazing video. I sure wish I had that press, big jars and such. I have made wine many times but on a smaller scale but this looks so fun.
I'm not crying. Blessings.
Stooop, as a child my older brother and I used to do this for my Grandfather, my parents would drive us to his home in South Philly and leave us for the weekend and we’d help him make his wine by stomping on the grapes😝 it was so much fun to do and yes, the juice was so sweet😋 TYFS, you brought back fond memories for me, I appreciate you all very much♥️💫✨👼🏻✨💫♥️🍷🍶🍷
You're so lucky to have grandpa there to teach you how it was done. Cheers!
Yes!!
Thank you for making this segment with your Nonno. I had to forward to my nephew who loves making wine as a hobby. He’ll enjoy it as well. God’s blessings to you all.
Issaquah, WA 🇺🇸
Our neighbor, Mr. Noto, made peach brandy. Pound for pound peaches and sugar, had enough natural yeast to make wine. After that you run it off in a small copper still. It had a beautiful color and flavor. That was 60 + years ago.
I'm italian all the things I see brings back a lot of great memories.
I love watching Nonno from the garden to being handy dandy with his make it better gadgets. The making of the wine was very interesting. Such wisdom I love it !
Great video! Had to go back and watch the 'I love Lucy' episode where she crushed grapes!👍😂 Nonno was clearly in his element and having a great day with is grand kids!
Thank you all for sharing this content. It's clear that not just wine was made memories and love.🍇
I just love your family you are truly blessed ❤ lots of love from New Jersey ❤
My in laws are are Sicilian (Agrigento area) and everything about this video, the room, the tools, the buckets, the wine process, the accent.. everything about it makes me think of my father in law.
Now all I want to do is order some wine grapes and make wine. And how could you even ask Nonno, 'Did you make this?' when you talked about the switch... I know he said he bought the grape crusher, but I'd bet he's repaired it numerous times, so even that he could say he made. Such a wonderful family. Thank you so much for sharing these moments.
First time to the channel and immediately fell in love with Nonno and his wine-making process 🥰
Your Nonno and Nonna are so amazing and accomplished! Their skill, energy, and work-ethic put so many of us to shame. Thank you gor these fantastic videos.
Excellent excellent video on showing history. And this part of all you get to spend very good quality time and make memories with your nonno!!
Grandpa made wine just like that. Wooden barrel - Boots and all. The best. All the hard work made you appreciate the delicious wine even more. Love this video. Sherry 🥰💞🙏🍇🍷
Wonderful old traditions
Thank you for this. How interesting to see the process. I hope you enjoy the wine. Saluti!
