GREAT series - thank you! Your explanations are clear and concise and gave me confidence!! Learned and loved every episode! As a beginner, your gentle style is very calming and helps me move forward even when I make mistakes. I only wish you were the instructor teaching my watercolour class!
Thank you so much for doing this series for beginners. It has helped me tremendously to understand what is being done. I can't wait to get my supplies and start practicing these techniques.
Love love these beginner videos! You are so fantastic! Thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to do these beginner videos. You book if amazing!❤🎉
Thank you Emma. I just discovered your video yesterday and today I finished the entire series of your watercolor week. Gonna try watercolor art for the first time.
Thank you very much. I indeed feel more confident now. It has been a wonderful watercolor week. I really love the way you have shared your knowledge with us! You are so good with watercolor and the explanations of the techniques you share, were so easy and practical. I will check your other videos to keep learning.
Thanks so much for doing this series. As a beginning watercolorist, it was so helpful and informative. I followed your pattern and did three different color wheels and it really helped me to start understanding how color mixing works. I know I've got a long way to go and I really appreciate you for pointing me in the right direction
Ty for these, I have been trying for a couple of years but, always good to get a refresh. Also I was notified today that my first subscription box is on its way! I am doing a no buy in 2023 so glad I got this on preorder in 2022 now I get art stuff once a month lol
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this series, Emma. It was great. You are a beautiful teacher. I so enjoy learning from you. You are peaceful, and it comes through in your teaching. Blessings!
I’ve really enjoyed this week of basic lessons. It’s so good to review these over and over. I just received your new book and I love it! Even here I “relearned” some things, especially about color mixing. You are part of each day!
Thanks so much Emma. I’ve been messing around with paint for years but don’t feel that I’ve made any progress. This has been fun and also enlightening. I now have a base from which to practise. Unfortunately, I doubt your book will be available in South Africa…more’s the pity! I had Covid in early December and have not yet fully recovered. I pray you do better than I did.
Thank you so much for making these great vids! I appreciate that they are short and sweet, and I believe that my 9 and 11 year old granddaughters will be able to watch and do the techniques as well. Now, I’m off to find your book on Amazon.
Thank you for this watercolour week and all the videos ! I love your way of teaching ❤️ Easy to understand even if i speak french ! Just got your book and i love it ❤️ Can't wait to paint !!!
hello, there! I look at your videos for years: it means I like them!!! I do aquarelle (watercolor) for a long time, but not every day, even every week! So to remember all the trick, astuteness and other knack, I take a lot of notes on some "trial" painting I did, and put them in a notebook. I write on title on each one, and write as much as explanations that I thinking of... So, weeks or months or even years later I can find out how I did it. Thanks for your time.... Buy the way, I think it's still time to wish you an happy new year!
I've been doing that too!! So I can look back weeks or months later, to see how far I've come. Mostly on practices. But date everything. I have only been into watercolor for about 8 months. Although, I'd like to paint everyday, it is far from that. For lack of time, living space, etc... 😥 Mostly I can see that I'm coming along well enough to give myself a big smile! 😃 And then sometimes, I'll look at something and say this really is not improving, I need to take another approach to it. 🤔 How I note things change after time and sometimes I only date the piece. Happy painting too you!! 🎨
Thank you thank you from Paris!!! For being so generous! I'm waiting now for my first box, and feel a little more prepared for playing with it! Take care of yourself and of your beautiful kids!!! Véronique
Thank you so much for these lessons. I'm new to watercolor n this has taught me much. You're a wonderful teacher n I hope you feel better soon. Just ordered your book.
I love my drawing sketchbook because I can see how I improve over time with practice. I have started a watercolor one as well. This helps me not be discouraged that I'm not as 'good' as what I see others doing on social media. I remind myself that I have not seen the evolution of progress they have gone through with their own journey with drawing, writing, watercolor, etc. Thanks for this series, Emma!
Thank you so much for the tutorial this week. I've been trying watercolor for a few months. You have cleared up a lot of techniques for me. I watch about all your videos, and now I can try ro do some of them. Thank thou again
Thank you for these videos. I wish I had seen them before I had begun painting (I have often wondered how things have happened or "how to create xyz") They have been so helpful and now they are always here for reference. Thank you.
Thank you so much Emma for this series. I enjoyed watching each day. I can’t believe how fast this past week flew by. I learned a lot this week. Thank you again! I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you so much. It has been a great week and thoroughly have enjoyed learning so much. Very grateful to you for your time and sharing all this with us.
I already knew most of it, but it was good to repeat it. Today I particularly liked how you painted the grass with a dry brush. This was new to me and I will try it. 😚👋
I received your book for Christmas and love it!!! You are so inspirational! I love learning from you, as you keep it simple, admit your faults, and laugh through the process!!
Thank you for this week. I’ve received your book. Now I understand the different techniques. You explained it so well. I’m still working on relaxing and still having brush control. You are wonderful. So glad I started following you. Blessings and prayers for you and family. Marilyn from Pensacola.
I can't believe I missed all the other episodes but I def have to catch up the great news is is that you make videos thank god for that I'm watching episode 7 now
This has been a great week for your tutorials. Loved them. What would like to ask about your palette. I know you use Rubens, but do you buy pans or tubes and then fill your pans. Or do get it as a complete palette. Love the colours you use.
The watercolours I used this week were a Paul Ruben’s pan set. But I mostly use my custom palette that I fill myself with Winsor & Newton professional tubes
@@EmmaLefebvre Emma, love your videos.been with you from the start. A friend of mine lost her hair & eyebrows due to chemo. Where did you get your brows painted & what is this procedure called?
Hey Emma! It helped a lot! I have made a lot of paintings and flowers! But I’m still dealing with water color pencils…..I bought a 72 pack of them and I still cant get a hang of them so can you do a week of watercolor pencils?.. thanks emma :D 😊
Hi Emma, I’m a complete beginner at watercolor and I’ve been painting along with your watercolor week series and new book. Your teaching style is fabulous and I literally have been taking notes on your videos because they are just so packed with wonderful, engaging info. I actually had a quick question about paper. I have several types, Canson, the woodland sketchbook you suggested and Arches. Even though I’m a newbie, I can definitely see and feel the difference in quality. However, with every brand of paper, I’m struggling with the wet on wet. I will wet down the Arches, I mean really wet it down and by the time I’m dipping my paintbrush into my paint, the paper is already dry. I just can’t seem to keep it wet long enough. I assume I’m doing something wrong, even though I always make sure the paper has a sheen and no pools or puddles. Or maybe I just need to work quicker? Any advice you have would be truly and greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance and congrats on your new book, I love it!
I think you may have to work faster. Have your colours mixed and ready to go before you wet you paper so you can just paint straight away after wetting the paper. Do you live in a hot climate? Sometimes that’s a struggle.
@@EmmaLefebvre Thanks for responding, Emma! I live in Brooklyn, NY and we get pretty cold in the winter (not quite so much as you, I imagine, in Canada 😊) so thankfully I don’t think I have to worry too much about climate issues, at least during the wintertime. And thanks so much for the tip about premixing my colors! I’ve actually been using the Cotman pan set (my Winsor and Newton tubes just arrived today, thank goodness) because it was what I had to start with. Maybe the tubes will work better for me as far as mixing goes. I do usually premix my colors, then wet the paper, then apply the watercolor, but I suspect there’s a sort of rhythm or at least, some practice required to work quickly before the water dries on the paper. I’ll keep working at it! Thanks again for taking the time to write me back me!
GREAT series - thank you! Your explanations are clear and concise and gave me confidence!! Learned and loved every episode! As a beginner, your gentle style is very calming and helps me move forward even when I make mistakes. I only wish you were the instructor teaching my watercolour class!

Emma, is there another brand of Hooker’s Green Dark, besides Cotman? I can’t find one. I typically use Daniel Smith.
Love the opening!
If you think it's perfect, you are not looking hard enough lol
I really need someone to tell me if I should purchase cotmans tubes or Paul rubans 24 pan set. ! Price is comparable. 💜
How do I go about purchasing your brushes, set of three?
