    45:45 Gravitic Punch shouldn’t work because Zada isn’t the only target, it also targets a player.

    It's really tough to be in Team Justin... When he's leading, he's focused. When he's losing, he's focused. When he's about to win, he grabs the wrong card one card before the correct one (Wheel instead of Caress). :'(

    I like how Ashling's name is a pun on the Irish name Aisling. They are pronounced very similarly, and seeing as Lorwyn is based on folklore of the British Isles, it makes a lot of sense. My dog is named Aisling, but I went with the "U.S." spelling of "Ashlyn" so vets and caretakers would know how to say it.

    Firstly zada can't copy gravity punch because it has two targets and second gravity punch has to target a creature YOU control, ricochet doesn't change that you will still have to target a creature you control which means John can only target his ashlin then the copy does the same in otherwords ricochet takes control of the spell as if you cast it and it's texts conditions would have to be met by your board

    • @anevilmurk4186
      @anevilmurk4186 5 лет назад +2

      While your statement on Zada is correct, your statement on Wild Ricochet is not. You don't gain control of the spell when it says you may change the targets, so John still had to pick one of Stephen's creatures for the initial gravity punch target. The copy of it however is under John's control and would target Ashling.

    Why do the other players hate on Justin so much? Jon is so cocky and Jeremy seems to have contempt for the entire table, don't get why Justin is always hated out?

    • @ForeverLaxx
      @ForeverLaxx 5 лет назад +4

      Probably because Justin usually does nothing all game, then suddenly wins. Maybe they're tired of ganging up on Jeremy for the time being? I honestly don't know why they don't hate Jon out of the game more, though. He's the only person at the table that's actively trying to do things, is often the highest threat at any given moment, and talks down to them a lot. Not that any of these players are any good with how many mistakes they make every single game but Jon is certainly the most annoying one at the table.

    • @androsredwolf900
      @androsredwolf900 5 лет назад +1

      @@ForeverLaxx if you watch them play elsewhere justin and stephen are both scary good players. Jeremy is great specifically with value decks from what I've seen. And jon is decent with a lot of decks but I've never seen him play at the level I've seen the other 3 play. Justin is by far the most strategic player which makes him the most dangerous. It makes sense that he is attacked first. And you cant say they are bad players because they dont know every ruling for every card. There are misplays in the featured matches of pro tours. Its part of magic

    • @ForeverLaxx
      @ForeverLaxx 5 лет назад

      @@androsredwolf900
      I think your definition of "scary good" must be a custom definition. While I'm aware that shows like this necessitate the desire to spread the damage in order to make the game as long as possible, the level of misplays just screams that they're average players at best or perhaps slightly above average when piloting decks they've used a million times. Stephen doesn't even read his cards so I refuse to believe he's much better than he lets on here. Justin tries to talk a lot of strategy, but most of what he says is of no bearing to what's going on and oftentimes just a bad assumption.
      Now, while I find this series entertaining, I'm not disillusioned about them as players. Yes, mistakes can happen even at the pro level which is why judges exist, but the number of mistakes that happen at this table every single game are so numerous that it can't just be simple chance. These are the kinds of mistakes people who don't read cards and assume half the rules make.

    • @androsredwolf900
      @androsredwolf900 5 лет назад

      @@ForeverLaxx so what you are saying is that if you sit down at a kitchen table with friends and pick up a low power level deck you have never played before, all of the mistakes you make and how weak the deck is shows your actual skill at the game. Thats what you are saying about them. Justin even admits that they arent trying to play perfect here. Justin and stephen both have set decks they play. That meams they are used to knowing every card they play and dont need a great knowledge of fringe or unused cards (which they use a lot of cards on this show you wont see in any other commander game). Those two Ive seen play outside of this series plenty and they are far better than everyone thinks. I will admit my only experience seeing jon or jeremy play other than this show was when i attended an scg con. Jeremy was really fun to watch play. His personal decks are awesome and he is quite a bit more aggressive but also a lot more confident. Jon was better than he is here and made no misplays with his personal decks but i admit i wasnt impressed by him.

    • @ForeverLaxx
      @ForeverLaxx 5 лет назад

      @@androsredwolf900
      The power of the deck has nothing to do with the argument. Reading the card explains the card, and none of them want to read the card. Especially Stephen, the most egregious offender in this regard. Jeremy constantly misses triggers, so much so that it's a running joke at the table. I don't expect them to pick up on every line of play available because that takes a good amount of familiarity with the deck you're using but when simple plays are bungled so badly and so consistently, that tells me they don't bother to read more than half the card.
      I don't expect perfect play, but the amount of misplays is just absurd. Most of these stem from not understanding the card due to lack of willingness to read the thing.
