Amazing! When confronted with a story like this one I have always that hint of jealousy to those people that conceptualize impossible (for me) scenarios like this one! 😃 😏
As a layman, it doesn't sound like the best idea to be lugging even a small planet through a system. Let alone have one star anywhere near another. Shields or not that mass would throw everything completely out f whack. Something a half the size of the moon could would completely disrupt the orbit of any of the inner planets it where near. Not even taking into account all the small objects.
To people without gravitational control that would seem impossible, that is true. If you can control and direct gravity at will, I highly doubt moving anything would be a problem.
Even in space, there are commercials. LOL!

As a side note any technology high enough is indistinguishable from magic..... so anything really is possible....

If you can KIDNAP A STAR, I think standard orbital mechanics aren't too much of an issue.
