Glad I landed here, was just considering purchasing a MIDI T8 Solutions thru box. I am using the Soloutions M8 and want to expand as I am acquiring more rack modules. Thumbs up on sharing your pain.
@@troublesomecorsair I just fired off an email to MIDI Solutions about this video and the responses which most agree on problems of their MIDI thru product. When they respond, I will post the results. I inferred that missing notes could be because it is not powered using a separate power supply circuit.
@@bobcatt2294 Just between you and me, I tried the Event Processor Plus last month and it worked. It seems to very much enjoy the midi power from my Sequential Prophet XL.
I'm in the same boat. I have the MidiSolution Pedal Controller and can't get it to light up unless I plug in Out-Out. Not recognized. No messages. Nothing works.
I eventually find a solution that does not involve the use of MidiSolutions boxes. The Quadra Thru and Merge are the only ones that have consistently worked for me. I have been successful with the Pedal Controller once, making an expression pedal a pitch bend. I wonder if that other guy is right, putting a powered Midi device between your audio interface and the MidiSolutions box.... I see there is a Banana Split for sale in New York... I'm almost tempted to try it.
@@Tym16 Very well! I tried to impart my solution in this video: ruclips.net/video/AdgMwN_kQTo/видео.html In brief, the idea is to put a midi controller between the Event Processor Plus and the Focusrite. If the midi controller has Midi Thru and provides the needed power as the Roland A-Pro series does, viola! And violins!
I think I tried every combination but I did eventually figure it out. One of my Roland Midi controllers successfully powers the MS Processor while passing along the programming data from the editor. So essentially I needed a middle-man. ruclips.net/video/AdgMwN_kQTo/видео.html
I know your pain. I just received a brand new Midi Solutions Quadra Thru which lights up and appears to be working as should, but I constantly get stuck notes when playing my synths from this box. If I take the Quadra Thru out of the mix and hook the synths directly to my controller, I never once get a single stuck note. =/
Thank you. I'm glad to report that my world hasn't ended yet. I only use the Midi Solutions stuff with the Korg Kronos but I have since gone down a different route. Being a keyboard/synth guy, the invasion of eurorack eventually got to me. Those 3U modules usually has the solution I need, anywhere between aftertouch, midi routing, voltage control, continuous changes, etc etc. I picked up a "EMW MIDI THRU-4" to replace the Quadra Thru.
Dude!! Your wrong!!, if you are using external controller and you will controll the program in the pc, you should connect like this: "Controller midi out > midi solution midi in > midi solution midi out > Interface midi in" this signal path will work if you want to controll the software in the pc, you can remove the midi solution product because you dont need it, just controller midi out > interface midi in"... , your doing it wrong, coz your signal path is for controlling external devices..... hope this helps
I found the solution! It's to put something between the audio interface and the MS box

I did own the Midi Solutions Merger M8 which worked flawlessly for me.

@@troublesomecorsair If that banana split is MIDI, get it dude. No links?
Don't give up. Your music will come together when it's time
Thanks! From a mechanical point, it's coming together nicely now, but I'll be darned if I can get this music out of my head and on to tape.
Hmmm Enable MIDI in the Focusrite Control???
I don't think that's an option but I did figure out a solution later on :)
@@troublesomecorsair please do share!!!

Where does come your 2nd MIDI OUT cable?

Um. Thanks for taking the time to write this, I guess. Maybe it'll help someone else.
