Truely a masterpiece! It has everything modern rap is missing at once. Its wild, original, chaotic, badass, stylish and as immortal as a track can be. Its like if Hip hop was a tree, this piece got cut out straight from the roots.
Because it’s a different environment, different mentality, social media didn’t exist, the generation were a lot more different attitude and more mature and ruthless then the Gen today, i mean back in them days, a lot more teens be smoking everywhere or drinking outside, more rebellious tough slacker attitude, loitering in the streets, graffiti everywhere, police didn’t give a shit about the bad neighbours, people didn’t record shit and they minded their business even if they saw petty crimes or shit going on. I mean these days you could see the biggest hardcore nigga but he get offended as soon as u say the wrong pronoun or these days everyone be recording everything to social media, nobody keeps it between themselves lol. Not to mention crime was high asf back then. Not saying it was great but the high crime and urban decay before gentrification and social media is what made rap so gritty and badass because rappers reflected on the environment, most rappers today rarely leave this lifestyle, I mean not even street gangs are that violent or powerful like they were doing the 70s although the mid 90s
His style...though it seems crazy on the surface it sounds like he could just make stuff up off the top of his head and make it work, which is crazy talented.
I am always looking at old school videos on RUclips. I was looking at Brooklyn Zoo. My daughter came in the room when I was looking at it and she said "What in the world." 😂😂😂.
The pause and cadence of this song will always exemplify the wicked humorous style and quick wittiness, truly self-mastered. Long Live Ol’ Dirty Bastard
ODB will always be relevant in hip hop history. I’m from his generation. I been listening to the WU since I saw the Mystery of Chessboxing video and immediately ODB stuck out. It hurt my heart when he passed, but I hope he’s spitting just like this wherever he’s at. RIP forever Dirty. I’ll be playing your shit till it’s my turn to go.
Undoubtably one of the best WU songs ever. Nobody could ever duplicate this style of rapping. The video alone is so dirty and gritty. How many people can make a dope video with just shooting a small apartment hallway and an occassional closeup of the artist? Talk about saving money. This probably cost $50 to make and i love to watch it. Divine in the cut....Rza....Meth and crew. I love this video

Because these rappers now days grew up in the suburbs or with money but will sell these kids their "struggle" and "dope dealing" in their music... Probably never been in a fight in their whole lives..
Are you kidding me??? Have you seen most trap or drill rappers of today like future, lil baby, thug, keef, durk, shiesty, and the 100s of other rappers?? That's the only place they actaully film their videos...a bunch of dudes with their shirts off aiming guns.. You can argue that videos now and even rappers nowadays are alot more violent, and gun toting than rappers from back in the 90s. You never saw rappers back in the day with their shirts off, with guns aimed at the camera

I had to hear it again because I wanted to get the natural high of his professional way with his lyrist style. 30 years later and the hairs on my arm still go up. This guy was from another dimension fo sho!!!
Bro me too im from the UK I was mouth open like shit this is something big then I thought i wanna see the G building then the next weekend he was getting interview on MTV Raps and they asked what is G building and he said I dont know its just G building lol the video really took it there and was straight gritty like all they videos but this was Haunting and anger and a hole bunch of things at the same time.
Brooklyn zoo started out strong and then seemed to become filler. 12 year old me in 95 had mixed emotions and didn’t feel like he got his 12.89 bucks worth fully at the time, which is probably about 28 dollars in todays money
So much potential. Trust me when i say this--he would've been the BIGGEST member of the clan. I could easily see more classically lyrical LPs, a R&B/Soul album, TV shows, incredible acting performances coming from this brotha. No one like Dirty will ever manifest out here...One

Why thank u
I'm from long beach CA. This came out when I was 13 , it was my first CD and I was the first on my block blasting it while doing my homework ❤
All the time
Man I can't imagine how rowdy this joint made the clubs get in NYC. The energy on this is ridiculous!
Shit was bonkers...90s was the doppest decade on God
808s hitting boooooom hit you right in the chest.
Eminem and Andre 3000 used to nerd out over Hieroglyphics/Souls of Mishief Lyrics. Wu-Tang and Hieroglyphics are the 2 best rap groups in history and its not even close. The lyrical genius of those men is unmatched. ruclips.net/video/58a5fzh0tJo/видео.html

ODB was never wack in his whole career
Facts Fam. He’s my favorite Wu member because he was totally Raw. Made me laugh every time I saw him act straight up Dirty. RIP
FACTS❗💯💯💪🏾💪🏾🙏🏾👑
He had his own style! He's the one & only ODB💪👊
No father to his style.
@@Yo-whats-up true statement
ODB was a mad genius there will never be another ODB again RIP ODB
Get' em ODB and keep your music going hard all the time
" GET OUT OF HERE" that line cracks me up🤣🤣🤣
Omg same😂
This is probably the only song that the clean version go hard as well.
raggaeldestro but it’s half clean and half dirty lol wtf
Have you heard the clean version? Plus yeah I know this obviously.
@@FadedGroup1 An ODB song could never be completely clean...
No i just had to pause this trash and go find an explicit version
@@FadedGroup1 👉ruclips.net/video/qDb-_pRdMAY/видео.html
Truely a masterpiece! It has everything modern rap is missing at once. Its wild, original, chaotic, badass, stylish and as immortal as a track can be. Its like if Hip hop was a tree, this piece got cut out straight from the roots.
A Tribe Called Quest is very good.
i get the same rush than 24 years ago... made me realize it wasn't the liquor getting me so wild! Yes a instant classic
Excellent comment my Guy . ✌
Love that analogy
This song is history and in a 100 years this will still be playing somewhere... Too raw... No ghostwriters... Just ODB.
His style...though it seems crazy on the surface it sounds like he could just make stuff up off the top of his head and make it work, which is crazy talented.
I love how they shot this in a narrow hallway. Metaphor for tight rhymes
Or a metaphor for being from an authentic Brooklyn Zoo.
I am always looking at old school videos on RUclips. I was looking at Brooklyn Zoo. My daughter came in the room when I was looking at it and she said "What in the world." 😂😂😂.
hilarious
90s was a gold era for Hip Hop
Words cannot describe how much I love this man. He was ahead of his game. Raunchy and raw ❤❤❤❤
RIP 💐💐💐✨✨✨
Hey💪🙌 Queen 👑😘
I remember the first time I saw this in the 9th grade...I was like “WTF....!??” I didn’t know what it was, but I knew it was great.
Go hard, & make it!!!!!
I was 14 - 15 years old watching Rap City on a Saturday morning. Changed my life forever

I’ll be playing your shit till it’s my turn to go.
that’s dope foreal.
YOU GON LOVE THIS!!
This guy always puts a smile on my face with his crazy antics .
ODB for life
Undoubtably one of the best WU songs ever. I love this video
this is my go to smoking song and I rap along every time….no one can beat ODB….the chords and his frenetic energy can’t be replaced. RIP to a legend
One of the Best HIP HOP Videos of All Times. R.I.P with GOD ODB 🕊🙏
He was an unique artist....Rest in Peace, you'll never be forgotten :-(
There are times I've left my car sweating profusely after listening to this joint. That's the power of this song.
I couldn't tell you how many times I've played this whole album front and back. Still playing in 2022.

I miss when rappers used to shoot music videos in the projects. Shit was real back then.
Because these rappers now days grew up in the suburbs or with money but will sell these kids their "struggle" and "dope dealing" in their music... Probably never been in a fight in their whole lives..
Yea new artist could never because they just mimic other peoples lives
i guess y’all dont know how shit in the chicago drill scene go downn bro😂 ppl used to get killed everyday
You never saw rappers back in the day with their shirts off, with guns aimed at the camera
this dude was shot and killed at like 18yo back in 2012, shit if fucked over there just look at the video ruclips.net/video/oKUqbqpzWwI/видео.html
This is one of the illest sickest beats ever in hip hop!! R.I.P. to the incredible Ol' Dirty Bastard. Peace to the entire Wu Tang Clan!! Shout out to my Stapleton and Park Hill comrades in Staten Island!! Shout out to Fort Greene, Brooklyn!!
This is a clean and dirty version, at the same damn time!
Facts! Lol
A lot of people don't know that tho!!!...... before you know nutten...now you know a hole bloodclaattt lot!...... Brooklyn!!!!
Yeah
We here/ hear every year!!!
I remember hearing Brooklyn Zoo for the first time, and it shut me the f up. I was literally speechless.
Faço desse comentário os meus, só que aqui do BRAZIL.
GrandMasterOsirus
Brooklyn zoo started out strong and then seemed to become filler. 12 year old me in 95 had mixed emotions and didn’t feel like he got his 12.89 bucks worth fully at the time, which is probably about 28 dollars in todays money
If you are here to listen this masterpiece in 2022, you should know you are not alone.. ODB was a MC we miss.
So much potential. Trust me when i say this--he would've been the BIGGEST member of the clan. I could easily see more classically lyrical LPs, a R&B/Soul album, TV shows, incredible acting performances coming from this brotha. No one like Dirty will ever manifest out here...One
🧢, methodman was and will forever be the most balanced member of the clan,ODB would've had to become damn near a rapping Malcolm X to put a dent in Method Man status
Hell no, Gza and Rza were on a different level
his first album like most of the other members of wu tang had classic first albums and then the quality dropped off drastically ... odb's 2nd album nigga please was a huge drop off from return to the 36 chambers
@@dirtmike6258 Ol'Dirty Bastard should have linked up with MF Doom for his second album.
Sorry, but I disagree. This was the best ol dirty was able to produce. He will never be forgotten tho, him and busta were so animated back then. I loved them both
