    Your videos are very detailed and helpful. I'm always excited to watch your tutorials, especially because you sing so unbelievably well. :) Is this a concert ukulele that you're using? I have a soprano and thinking of upgrading to a concert or tenor. But I'm pretty confused haha. I wonder how much difference there is in the sound, especially when it comes to the finger picking part. Would love to hear about this from you! Thanks again. Much love from India xx

    These chords sound so good together. Right away I'm playing the song. Nice confidence boost. Never seen those hieroglyphics before yet you explained them well, really like the strum tap. This is exciting. Been only playing since the end of February this year and you have taught me so much. Thank you Katie. The ending was fun as you blooped your way through to get the beginning right.
    It's a nice cooling rainy day here. Great weather to strum along with Stand By Me, don't know why, just is😁
    Unrelated question....

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  6 лет назад

      Good question! I use something very fancy called a fork :). IT's probably better to get a whisk, but I'm not that fancy. I'm so happy that this was fun for you to play right off of the bat. I'm trying to sprinkle more and more tutorials that have a simple bass with an extra something to add to the chords. I'm glad that you liked it. Thanks so much for watching.

    • @user-nt8xv1ns7w
      @user-nt8xv1ns7w 6 лет назад

      One Music School
      Hahahaha! Ooh a fork, how fancy is that! First laugh of the day award goes to Katie. Practical and smart. I'll have to get one of these fork things you mentioned. Being a minimalist, I'm a spork man myself. Although I think I have one of these four pronged utensils in the back of a kitchen draw. A fork sounds pretty fancy to me 😁
      With one of those loop machines I'd be able to add layers of sound like your tutorial, yes?
      Like your word "sprinkle" to add that little extra something, something, to your tutorials. A festive dash that spices up our musical meals. Thanks for these feasts.
      Smiley day Katie.

    Hello Katie: At the 1:45 mark where you explain the counting. This is where I get off because I know the musical nomenclature should be clear, but as I am not able to read this can you explain it in a way that I can count this properly. I was off because I know there is a slight delay in the beat.

    I don’t understand your staccato explanation at all. Do you have another video that explains it slower or more throughly? I have repeated that section more than 10 x. Still don’t understand what you are doing. I know what staccato is. In the play along is another instrument playing. It seems like I don’t hear the strum of your uke but another instrument?

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  4 года назад +1

      Hi, I layered two tracks in the play along. One was just strumming and the other had the into picking. As for the staccato, Just after playing the note, use your right hand or one of your fingers to touch the string. This will stop the string from vibrating so that you have an abrupt stop in sound rather than letting the string continue to vibrate, leaving the note to ring out. I hope that helps.

    • @jasneskis
      @jasneskis 4 года назад

      One Music School That explanation...simple. That simple explanation I understand. Just deaden sounding string.
