The top, without a doubt, is Mantis - Depths feat. Maksim. I can't think of anything that sounds like it, really; it's absolutely monstrous.
Second is probably Conduct - Borderlands. Their new album (of the same name) just came out, too, I highly recommend it! Again, such a unique sound, much more "organic" sounding than most drum & bass, and far less club-oriented.
And then this is third, obviously.
It's tough though, it's been a great year for D&B so far in my opinion. There was Spor's "Black Eyed" EP, the new Noisia album (which leaked, unfortunately for them, and fortunately for everyone else in the world who gets to hear it sooner!), I'm a big fan of Des McMahon's "The Second Renaissance" EP... I'm going to stop, I could list stuff all day, ha.

This is like medium salsa. Not too hot and outrageous, burning your taste buds alive, but definitely still has some kick. Full flavor here.

This track has the combination of harmonic complexities and heavy drum sounds I've wanted out of a DnB tune for ages. Everyone else seems obsessed with the "less is more" approach when it comes to these aspects. Not The Upbeats in this one though. Respect!

If you listen to older DnB, you'd change your mind. The drumwork here is similar to the oldschool DnB more than anything.
Drums are one thing. There are only so many ways to make a drum pattern with just a kick, snare, and hi hat. I agree, the drums are nothing too special, but I still enjoy them.
These are signature Upbeats drums. Very easily recognizable. Tbh im really fed up with the techy shit nowadays, always "'refreshing" to hear an Upbeats track.
