I have the dark cherry furniture, I thought about painting it too lighten our room. Just couldn't do it 🤦 we bought right before we got married 31 years this coming July. So i had the room painted white and trim painted. I couldn't be happier plus how long before the darker furniture is back in style. My hubby said we could look around before I painted the room, but styles come and go walls and trim are easier to change than the furniture. ♥️

I agree, don’t paint it! We bought our solid maple bedroom set before we were married or built our house. It’s beautiful! The house was painted white throughout until I decided what I liked. First time I painted the master bedroom it was your basic beige. After 21 years I just repainted it repose gray by Sherwin Williams. It’s a huge room. Just the trim took me 6 hours (ultra pure white high gloss by Behr) it looks totally different with different wall color but the maple furniture is still beautiful as it darkens with age.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts as well. Started dating at 15, got married at 21 in 2004. 17 years later, a 15 year old, a 13 year old, and almost 11 year old. We love our fur babies, too! I bet your snow dogs are in heaven right now.

We will be celebrating 46 years this coming June . We have one son named Peter who is 36 this April . He is married to a wonderful young woman named Emily . We are very close . She is a sweetheart. We are blessed to have her in our family.. we became grandparents in July 14, 2020.. when Parker was born . He is now 18 months running around and exploring his world around him. You may imagine he keeps us active and young . He is a joy ! We love them all to the moon and you back . ❤️ To keep me busy in between watching Parker , I clean our house and my hubby Pete is a big help. Its always scary to paint furniture, but sometimes you have to take the plunge for change. I have learned that in the past 5 yrs. we had our furniture in our living room for 20 years 😳, but my taste has changed so we painted the tables and I am so happy I did it. I will say the sheet set looks so comfortable, do you have issues with getting to hot. My husband throws a lot of heat but I am always cold 😂. I always love how peaceful and cozy you decorate and your bedroom is no different. I love the look very beautiful. My niece has been with her hubby from 4th grade too. It is inspiring to hear true love always lives on now a days she is only 32. This year I will be with my husband 30 years, and man it has flown by, having babies seems to make it go fast. I think your furniture is beautiful as is. The chalk paint is a trend and I think a couple of years from now, there is going to be an abundance of it on garage sales. But it's your home and you have to do what fits your style and tastes. Your winter decor is very warm & cozy!!

Hi Amy! Love your bedroom. You’ve done a beautiful job decorating it. About painting the furniture, I’m in the same boat about our dark wood too. I feel like the painted furniture craze will go out eventually, and we’ll all be stuck with it! It’s harder taking the paint off than putting it on, but hey…at the end of the day, it’s just furniture. My husband and I are also high school sweethearts. We married in 1985. We have a 34 year old son who is a missionary and soon to be married, and we have a 16 year old daughter that we homeschool. Lastly, we have a black lab and 2 cats. My heart is full!! Hi Amy ! Beautiful cozy room ! Love the story behind the clock. We have a clock in the bathroom and the ticking of it makes me crazy some nights …LOL!!! But we want to see the time so I guess no sentimental time set for it. ☹️ My husband and I have been married for 45 years his past October. He still enjoys working, he is a salesman and travels through many counties in New York State. He sells to Town Highway Departments and County Highway Department. He enjoys the guys ! I’m retired due to health issues that hit in my mid 50’s. I worked for a large insurance Company since Collage, so 30 years. We have 2 married daughters who are 42 and 44,, 3 beautiful granddaughters ages 19 down to 3 ! And a very handsome 4 year old grandson! Our youngest daughter and her husband didn’t have children until their late 30’s ….all on God’s time! He gave them a boy and 15 months later a girl…she is a crazy Momma! They refer to themselves as the “geriatric parents! “.. Our oldest daughter and her husband will soon be planning a Wedding for their oldest! A wonderful Christian young man who our granddaughter has gone to Church with since they can remember! Baptized on the same day ! Our Son-In-law is a Pastor , so he was the one who Baptized them both and will be marrying them. What is so ironic about our granddaughter and this young man is, my parents and his “great” grandparents were best friends for over 40 years! His grandfather ( their son ) was my Underwriter at the Insurance Co… we grew up together. Wish my parents and his great grandparents were here to see their “GREAT GRANDCHILDREN “ getting married ! Never did I imagine when I was younger and doing so much with that family that someday my granddaughter would be marrying their grandson…. ! How amazing is our God and his plan! Hi Amy. The weather keeps saying we're supposed to get snow today but so far no snow!!! But its really cold, at least for my part of South Carolina. Lol. I can't seem to get my fingertips, nose and toes warm. Maybe try to get the furniture the color of your nightstands? I don't envy you the job painting all the intricate details on your bedroom furniture. That might be a future Spring job? Just all the touches you added makes your bedroom look refreshed. All your videos give me inspiration and ideas for what I can do in my home. It can get frustrating trying to come up with new ideas for decorating a home so videos as this helps tremendously for those of us that might be decorating challenge. Lol. Such a sweet story about the clock and your wedding. My husband and I got married August 3, 1978 at 6:00 in a small ceremony. On our 25 wedding anniversary we renewed our vows with lots of family and friends at a beautiful little mansion we rented. It was lots of work but so fun. Hope you all have a great weekend. I don't know Amy about painting the bed. I guess I wouldn't. That bed is beautiful along with your dresser. It pops out with your walls and other white accents. I feel the bed style was made to look rich and dark. 🙂❣️
You can never go wrong with white furniture. It's so much easier to change the bedding to achieve a different look if you need a quick update. No black since you already think the dark wood is too heavy looking for the room.

I know the trend has been painted wood for a few years now, but I am old fashioned and love my stained wood. It is mostly a medium color, not dark. Just my opinion, you should do what you like. Your home is beautiful and I enjoy your videos.
Hey Amy. Love your cozy bedroom decor……simple but yet so very pretty! That is such an awesome idea for your clock. My husband and I were married 36 years before he passed on November 26, 2019. Miss that sweet husband of mine everyday of my life. I love your furniture, but I get the same feeling with my kitchen cabinets. They are custom built cabinets made of oak with a natural stain. We paid quite a penny for them when we built our house. I just want to paint them white but just can’t muster up the nerve to do it. Maybe one day soon! Can’t wait to see your next video!

It's simple, pretty, and cozy. You right it doesn't need to be all new all the time for a place to look nice. Love love those art work holding hooks I have some and they work great.i see that beautiful tray you hauled it look beautiful on the bed.
I love how bright your bedroom is. I’d almost chalk paint the mirrors to add contrast first then if you still don’t like it then test a spot on the bed
You always do a good job! I think you should go with your heart as to the color of your furniture! I would have everything painted white but my husband has things to say about that! If you paint your chest and headboard, I think I would have it match your night stands. My mom was a cna years ago and so growing up, she taught us to make the neat corners on the top sheet just like you did. Then in high school, I took the CNA class and received my certificate so I have always made corners like that. Many people don't know how to do that but it looks so clean and crisp. What a special touch to have the clock at 4 o'clock

The bedroom looks nice!! So if you keep the same wall color, black furniture would look best. I personally would paint it white to brighten the space and then change the wall color to a pale gray or blue.😉 Thanks for sharing about your family. For your decorating style I would actually keep your dark wood furniture. It gives you a cozy home feeling. ❤️If you wanted to brighten up the furniture how about trying by painting the tops and front of the drawers. It’s a way to lighten up your furniture. So funny what you said about your clock. I am the same way about ticking clocks and my husband took the battery out of our wall clock as well. We set the time at 5:00 for when we get off work. But the time we got married is a much better idea. So we will be changing it to 6:00. Thanks. 😀

Also love the church lantern!! Personally I can't paint lovely hardwood furniture. I have darker mission style bedroom and love it. I like the contrast of dark against my light walls and bedding. But we each have different preferences and likes. Just for me painting would not be an option. My hubby and I have been married 44 years. We have 2 adult children. A son 42 and a daughter 39. She is married and mom to.our two adorable twin grandkids. A boy and a girl. My family is everything to me. Always enjoy your videos. Lovely, cozy master. I like the look of chalk painted furniture but I don't want to paint over my own wood pieces. I do love the wood look. I remember my parents painting our wood dining room table and chairs when that was the trend. Only to refinish it to original wood several years later. And that was a lot more work! Have you ever thought of trimming down the posts? Maybe removing most of the footboard? Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be lovely, God bless you 😇

Your bedroom furniture is gorgeous as it is. If you do decide to paint it, I think white distressed would look great too! I would recommend polycrylic to seal it because waxing would be daunting! Good luck!
Yes I do like seeing what others do in decor. I don't do the winter thing, don't really have a lot of storage. I would not paint your furniture unless you are really unhappy with it. Also if you paid a lot I would not paint it. Don't paint as a trend but as something you love. I think we can all do our own thing. My husband and I met in Feb, engaged in June and married in Sept. of 1968. We have two grown sons. One is almost 43 and the other 38. We have two grand daughters and one grand son.

I recently painted my kitchen cabinets white and my fireplace built-ins white. Both were quite a job!! Lol. I also enjoy watching shopping hauls, but it is so nice to see people use what they have. It can sometimes get a little discouraging watching people decorate with all new items. Especially when you are going through financial hardships. My hubby and I are newly married and new empty nesters! We downsized and bought a farmhouse rancher in the country! Praise the Lord! Our bedroom suit is a darker color too and I had thought I wanted to paint it but I decided not to. It does give a nice contrast. I have the dark cherry furniture, I thought about painting it too lighten our room. Just couldn't do it 🤦 we bought right before we got married 31 years this coming July. So i had the room painted white and trim painted. I couldn't be happier plus how long before the darker furniture is back in style. My hubby said we could look around before I painted the room, but styles come and go walls and trim are easier to change than the furniture. ♥️

I agree, don’t paint it! We bought our solid maple bedroom set before we were married or built our house. It’s beautiful! The house was painted white throughout until I decided what I liked. First time I painted the master bedroom it was your basic beige. After 21 years I just repainted it repose gray by Sherwin Williams. It’s a huge room. Just the trim took me 6 hours (ultra pure white high gloss by Behr) it looks totally different with different wall color but the maple furniture is still beautiful as it darkens with age.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts as well. Started dating at 15, got married at 21 in 2004. 17 years later, a 15 year old, a 13 year old, and almost 11 year old. We love our fur babies, too! I bet your snow dogs are in heaven right now.

He is married to a wonderful young woman named Emily . We are very close . She is a sweetheart. We are blessed to have her in our family.. we became grandparents in July 14, 2020.. when Parker was born . He is now 18 months running around and exploring his world around him. You may imagine he keeps us active and young . He is a joy ! Its always scary to paint furniture, but sometimes you have to take the plunge for change.
I have learned that in the past 5 yrs. we had our furniture in our living room for 20 years 😳, but my taste has changed so we painted the tables and I am so happy I did it.
I will say the sheet set looks so comfortable, do you have issues with getting to hot. My husband throws a lot of heat but I am always cold 😂.
I always love how peaceful and cozy you decorate and your bedroom is no different. I love the look very beautiful.
My niece has been with her hubby from 4th grade too. It is inspiring to hear true love always lives on now a days she is only 32.
This year I will be with my husband 30 years, and man it has flown by, having babies seems to make it go fast.

Hi Amy! Love your bedroom. You’ve done a beautiful job decorating it. About painting the furniture, I’m in the same boat about our dark wood too. I feel like the painted furniture craze will go out eventually, and we’ll all be stuck with it! It’s harder taking the paint off than putting it on, but hey…at the end of the day, it’s just furniture. My husband and I are also high school sweethearts. We married in 1985. We have a 34 year old son who is a missionary and soon to be married, and we have a 16 year old daughter that we homeschool. Lastly, we have a black lab and 2 cats. My heart is full!! My husband and I have been married for 45 years his past October. He still enjoys working, he is a salesman and travels through many counties in New York State. He sells to Town Highway Departments and County Highway Department. He enjoys the guys ! I’m retired due to health issues that hit in my mid 50’s. I worked for a large insurance Company since Collage, so 30 years. We have 2 married daughters who are 42 and 44,, 3 beautiful granddaughters ages 19 down to 3 ! And a very handsome 4 year old grandson! Our youngest daughter and her husband didn’t have children until their late 30’s ….all on God’s time! He gave them a boy and 15 months later a girl…she is a crazy Momma! They refer to themselves as the “geriatric parents! “.. Our oldest daughter and her husband will soon be planning a Wedding for their oldest! A wonderful Christian young man who our granddaughter has gone to Church with since they can remember! Baptized on the same day ! Our Son-In-law is a Pastor , so he was the one who Baptized them both and will be marrying them.
What is so ironic about our granddaughter and this young man is, my parents and his “great” grandparents were best friends for over 40 years! His grandfather ( their son ) was my Underwriter at the Insurance Co… we grew up together. Wish my parents and his great grandparents were here to see their “GREAT GRANDCHILDREN “ getting married ! Never did I imagine when I was younger and doing so much with that family that someday my granddaughter would be marrying their grandson…. ! How amazing is our God and his plan!

Hi Amy. The weather keeps saying we're supposed to get snow today but so far no snow!!! But its really cold, at least for my part of South Carolina. Lol. I can't seem to get my fingertips, nose and toes warm. Maybe try to get the furniture the color of your nightstands? I don't envy you the job painting all the intricate details on your bedroom furniture. That might be a future Spring job? Just all the touches you added makes your bedroom look refreshed. All your videos give me inspiration and ideas for what I can do in my home. It can get frustrating trying to come up with new ideas for decorating a home so videos as this helps tremendously for those of us that might be decorating challenge. Lol. Such a sweet story about the clock and your wedding. My husband and I got married August 3, 1978 at 6:00 in a small ceremony. You can never go wrong with white furniture. It's so much easier to change the bedding to achieve a different look if you need a quick update. No black since you already think the dark wood is too heavy looking for the room.

I know the trend has been painted wood for a few years now, but I am old fashioned and love my stained wood. It is mostly a medium color, not dark. Just my opinion, you should do what you like. Your home is beautiful and I enjoy your videos.

Miss that sweet husband of mine everyday of my life. I love your furniture, but I get the same feeling with my kitchen cabinets. They are custom built cabinets made of oak with a natural stain. We paid quite a penny for them when we built our house. I just want to paint them white but just can’t muster up the nerve to do it. Maybe one day soon! Can’t wait to see your next video!

If you paint your chest and headboard, I think I would have it match your night stands. My mom was a cna years ago and so growing up, she taught us to make the neat corners on the top sheet just like you did. Then in high school, I took the CNA class and received my certificate so I have always made corners like that. Many people don't know how to do that but it looks so clean and crisp. What a special touch to have the clock at 4 o'clock

The bedroom looks nice!! So if you keep the same wall color, black furniture would look best. I personally would paint it white to brighten the space and then change the wall color to a pale gray or blue.😉

For your decorating style I would actually keep your dark wood furniture. It gives you a cozy home feeling. ❤️If you wanted to brighten up the furniture how about trying by painting the tops and front of the drawers. It’s a way to lighten up your furniture. So funny what you said about your clock. I am the same way about ticking clocks and my husband took the battery out of our wall clock as well. We set the time at 5:00 for when we get off work. But the time we got married is a much better idea. So we will be changing it to 6:00. Thanks. 😀

Personally I can't paint lovely hardwood furniture. I have darker mission style bedroom and love it. I like the contrast of dark against my light walls and bedding. But we each have different preferences and likes. Just for me painting would not be an option.
My hubby and I have been married 44 years. We have 2 adult children. A son 42 and a daughter 39. She is married and mom to.our two adorable twin grandkids. A boy and a girl. My family is everything to me.
Always enjoy your videos. I have mentioned before we have similar taste and own many of the same decor pieces. I love seeing how you decorate with them.

Lovely, cozy master. I like the look of chalk painted furniture but I don't want to paint over my own wood pieces. I do love the wood look. I remember my parents painting our wood dining room table and chairs when that was the trend. Only to refinish it to original wood several years later. And that was a lot more work! Have you ever thought of trimming down the posts? Maybe removing most of the footboard? Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be lovely, God bless you 😇

Your bedroom furniture is gorgeous as it is. If you do decide to paint it, I think white distressed would look great too! I would recommend polycrylic to seal it because waxing would be daunting! Good luck!

Yes I do like seeing what others do in decor. I don't do the winter thing, don't really have a lot of storage. I would not paint your furniture unless you are really unhappy with it. Also if you paid a lot I would not paint it. Don't paint as a trend but as something you love. I think we can all do our own thing. My husband and I met in Feb, engaged in June and married in Sept. of 1968. We have two grown sons. One is almost 43 and the other 38. We have two grand daughters and one grand son.

Everything is just gorgeous Amy!! I love the church lantern!! Have not seen one like that. I have very similar furniture in my master bedroom and am thinking of painting it too. I recently painted my kitchen cabinets white and my fireplace built-ins white. Both were quite a job!! Lol. I also enjoy watching shopping hauls, but it is so nice to see people use what they have. It can sometimes get a little discouraging watching people decorate with all new items. Especially when you are going through financial hardships. I have always been one to "shop my home", and I do enjoy trying to find ways to reuse what I already have!! Have a great weekend!!

Hello Amy, I just love your decorating style. I can't believe how similar our decor and dexorating is alike. I have used many of your ideas and Amazon decor! My hubby and I are newly married and new empty nesters! We downsized and bought a farmhouse rancher in the country! Praise the Lord!
