As a potter, I can tell you that mocha ware seaweed pattern is named for its resemblance to seaweed. It's actually made with tobacco juice and vinegar, and that seaweed pattern is the chemical reaction it makes on the glaze body.
Ye Olde apple tree Dump has not lost its mighty, magical mysteries. I love the painting that was gifted it is a lovely reminder of how wonderful it looked. Mudmas was special for me. I had something happy, creative and two lovely women to look forward to everyday in a very dark time. You made me smile and lifted my heart. Have a immensely wonderful holiday. May the Light of Love and Happiness envelope you both.🌞 ❤️
I absolutely ADORE how you two ladies are attracted to the tiny little things, the beads, and the little pieces of porcelain, I'm totally attracted to the larger bottles and I think the smallest things I would totally fall in love with are the ink bottles, but those little medicine bottles and pill bottles are growing on me real quick as I see you looking through them! I wish I lived in an area that had as rich a history that goes so far back as Scotland and England does, because I'm a rock hound and mudlarking would come as second nature to me! Thank you for sharing your expeditions to spots where so much can be found just by looking down! Cheers my British Darlings, if I ever wish to have a dose of the wonderful Feminine way in which you two Ladies show your love of historical things while mudlarking, I come to this channel. And I do come here often; you charm me and warm my heart every time I watch your vids!
I love the beautiful little painting 🖼 that was made for you two ❤ and the quilts are just beautiful and wonderful 👏 ❤ 💕 💖 God bless them dearly, dear lord !! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤
Kate you gave me goosebumps when you were crouched down and pointing to the robin and then the ground i felt like it was a scene out of Outlander, with you in your long mediaeval looking skirt and outfit, goosebumps for sure
Can't believe the little cat is over 100 years old and is pretty much perfect. You reminded me of a Victorian explorer in your skirt very fitting for the things you both found, Merry Christmas
With all the negative things going on today, Kate's excitement made me feel there's still hope for humanity. That really lifted my spirit. I volunteered at the local food pantry today, so I had to think about people who are having hard times. Edit: I've just watched the episode of Time Team that explored the Wedgewood factory site, and saw them uncover a massive dump of 1830s pottery. The very first thing I thought of was the look on Kate's face if she had found that pile. I think she'd need oxygen!
So glad you got a chance to go back I find those wonderful things. I think I got even more emotional than you did. Thank you for the mudmas videos. They are very special.
Hello from Germany, Kit and Mum are in Wonderland, someone wants it good for you, please go there again, and the blankets are sooo wonderfully beautiful, you must have worked on them for a year, keep them in honor, Merry Christmas to all of you
I am so happy you both got back to the orchard dump! And you found another cracker jack charm, which is amazing... Lots of wonderful finds, I have enjoyed watching Mudmas thank you so much for all your work.
I really love that gold letter S! Shame it is damaged, but still lovely! Such sweet finds and fabulous bottles! So pleased you found a Czech glass crackerjack charm! You two completely deserve the gift with all the effort you put in to your videos! I have literally gone bright red now 😂 The twigs that make the frame are actually apple wood as well, my two rats had a big bag of them for their teeth but they sadly passed away before finishing them and I miss them tons! It all feels meant to be with the video being set there and me having apple wood sticks! 😂 Merry Mudmas!
Yey! So glad you're able to go back! Not watched the video yet but I'm sure you'll find amazing things. I found a bottle dump similar to yours, it'd been dug since the 70's. 4 months after I found it I turned up one day & the whole area was fenced off & now it's been built on and I'm still completely gutted. Watching you guys at your dump gives me so much happiness though. Thank you for the tremendous effort you've put into mudmas. Happy Christmas. Xx
What a beautiful painting. You are so fortunate to have such wonderful friends all over the world.. I bet you never thought a wonderful pastime for you both would lead to reaching so many people. I thank you both, Diane from New York.
With all your amazing knits, the beautiful colours you use and the all over feel you give me, im sure your in the Weasley family, and thats a huge compliment, from a Potter Girl 😍
The apple orchard bottle dump still has hidden treaures. I'm so happy you've found the black cat. It looks just like my cat Othello. Merry Mudmas to everyone out there. Don't worry about my name .You nearly got it right. LOL
The 3-legged frame at 35:28 looks like the end of a gas mantle. I used these in my caravan for years and, no doubt, some people still do. They were made by VERITAS.
I have to admit that beyond the fun finds, I am always intrigued by the fashion outfits you wear mudlarking. Definitely you are contenders for the best dressed larkers of the year:) I always imagine Kate working in a clothing shop and getting first dibs on new stock:)
Hello and a big thankyou, for all the entertainment .especially over the last 20 months.my family have suffered losses ,as have many others.even so your films have helped me escape the sadness and smile for a while.thankyou again ,all best wishes to you for a very merry Xmas ,and healthy new year.Sue.x
I’m so glad you went back. It was so nice to be there with you, amazing finds.I’m so happy for you. I love that you look for toys and dolls. It’s just so lovely to see these items again.
The look of shear joy on your face Kate was simply PRICELESS, when you found the adorable little black cat!! This is one of the reasons I enjoy watching you and your Mothers channel!! Your reactions when finding your special things are precious. I can't get enough. Please don't ever change or ever stop 🙏!! I love it all !!🥰
I appreciate the great gift you give us all for the holidays! I do hope you don't get tied or uninspired to do mudmas. I also wanted to say, Kate I love what you do with your fashion. When I was young like you I like to think I was distinctive. Might have been just silly but I enjoyed it. You never look silly! You have an excellent are style.
Great video, nice finds. If you find time it would be worth a few more visits. Thanks again for a wonderful year for sharing your time with us. Merry Christmas to all.
That was great to go back but will always be sad especially now nothing has been done. So many lovely finds, with the black cat, stopper and beads. Love those two coloured bowls but shame they were broken. Thank you and have a fantastic Christmas and New year. See you soon
Hi Kate and Fleur, how lovely you revisited your favourite place again, although sadly not how it used to be. Your videos here have always been special and this visit was the same, so many wonderful things. I was delighted to see Mudlarking Robin was still there to help you😊. Mudmass has been a joy to watch, thank you. sending you Christmas wishes and wishing you a happy New Year 🙂🎄
It's truly tragic when a producing orchard of any kind is destroyed. When you learn it was for nothing, well its shameful. Beautiful finds ladies, Christmas blessings from USA.
I think I need to go on a mission to see if anyone out there is selling the black cat 🐈⬛ Crackerjack charm. Now that I know what they are called I can. Thank you so much for that. I grew up with a black cat and always had a black cat as a pet ever since so this would be special to me. Yours is even more special because you found it. Or maybe it found you? ❤ We rarely got junk food when I was a child but I clearly remember the sweet pink popcorn and was amazed that popcorn could be pink and sweet too. The prize inside sealed the deal. It was like a treasure box for me. I don't even remember what the prize was just that it was there.
Wow!! I wanted to hit the thumbs up over and over again! I can relate to your love of the Cracker Jack treasure. My paternal grandparents had a small box of them and we were only allowed to play with them under supervision. You take me with you wherever you go and I love it
So lovely to see you both back there, was wondering if you would ever go back.... So glad you did and your Robin friend was still there too. The little peach plastic top reminded me of the Pretty Peach perfume, I remember having it as a child... think it was Avon who sold it. But that was back in the early 70s so not old enough. 💕💕💕💕
Pretty Peach was for young ladies and was what I looked for when the Avon lady called. I was occasionally treated to some lotion or bubble bath and felt very lucky when it happened. Loved it.
Loved your trip to the orchard. Glad you went back. I enjoy your crafts especially the dolls and doll house. . I wish you a very Merry Christmas. And please tell Oscar his smile makes me smile!!!!
I love seeing how excited you both get! I have seen your finding Frozen Charlottes, doll faces, and now the lucky black kitty! I do hope that enjoyment never leaves you. I have got to also say how cool your cat is, I can tell he has great owners as he basically has free run of everything just like mine. Nothing worse than a comfortable kitty on my lap when I need to tinkle! Have a great holiday!
Wow. That was a wonderful experience, sharing the obvious joy you both felt after finding the cat. I love you guys and your videos and I hope you have a lovely time over Christmas.
As so often happens with your vids-- I REALLY want the option of More than just 1 thumbs-up. Maybe a star rating system. One is simply not enough!! This Mudmas series has been wonderful- and tho I don't comment often, as I usually watch from a sofa- like watching a TV, you really have out-done yourselves this year! The stop-action decorating the pin tree-- I could go on. Thank you so much for taking us all along, and taking the time to film and edit your crafts- both the successes and the frustrations. All appreciated (makes all us less crafty folk feel much, much better seeing someone else struggle LOL Merry Christmas- and Cheers from Maine! Eliza
I love watching you both mudlarking together. Cherish these moments, I am sure you already do,, but spend as much time with your family. It's hard to watch your videos and not think about my mother, who I just lost to Covid. A week before my mother passed away my 2 brothers, my Stepmother, my cousin and mother in law. My heart is broken and I am just sad because you both remind me so much of me and my mother. BTW: None of them where vaccinated.
Happy Christmas family, hope you get over the sniffles soon, I just knew you were going back to your bottle dump, what lovely finds, you didn't need bags, you needed a trailer!! The Czech cracker cat was such a find, clever Robins, "They ain't stupid!" The china pint pot was fascinating. I was born in North Devon and before the second war our local pub had a bar like a living room, and the old girl who ran it would bring out jugs of ale and fill up blue pint pots like you found. Father said she had a massive hunch back and if her head could turn all the way round she would have had a magnificent bust! You can tell the sort of upbringing I had, rather full of ridiculous humour. I'm glad you liked the funnies, of course Jane made the card. The quilts were superb, Jane makes them as commissions so I know how lucky you are to receive them, quite beautiful and I loved the little oil painting of the dump, well done to Richard, it was superb and so apt. Have a well deserved rest, your Mudmas was so much fun, I've completely overdosed. Bless you all family of Mudlarkers.
Merry Mudmas 😊 what a lovely way to end mudmas and so glad you were able to go back to the wonderful dump and found that gorgeous Czech glass cracker jack and all of the other lovely finds 🥰🥰🥰 thank you ladies
People are so thoughtful what wonderful quilts and that painting, how lovely to have a memory how the dump was, very special. Yuletide blessings to everyone.
Lovely video to finish Mudmas ladies. I will miss my daily fix but you both definitely deserve a well earned break! Have a very Merry Christmas, looking forward to your adventures and crafting in 2022. 🥰❄️🎄☃️
Well you may not be appropriately dressed but you are both beutifully dressed... That green coat is gorgeous!
As a potter, I can tell you that mocha ware seaweed pattern is named for its resemblance to seaweed. It's actually made with tobacco juice and vinegar, and that seaweed pattern is the chemical reaction it makes on the glaze body.
Perfect little black kitty for the doll house.
That cat charm xp looks like Sunny as a new friend eheheh
It seems every time one of you or both ,mention the Robin, wonderful things get found. Love Cracker Jack Cat, wonderful find Kate!

My mum has my Nan's black glass cat, nan was born in 1911 and I've only recently found out it came from a cracker. I love it.
What a wonderful video I really enjoyed your finds I love the enjoyment on your face’s
The devil handle is too cute. The little half cup (6:08) would make a great balcony or planter on the outside of the doll house!
You spoiled us so much this mudmas... Thank you! So glad you have your fav dump back. Can't wait to see you again next year!
Love and always look forward to your videos!!!
Those quilts are wonderful.

Kate finding the charm and clover stopper, is a Christmas miracle.
