  • The fifteenth, and final item on the CSB 50 program was James Merritt's "The Canadian", a challenging festival march that features the Canadian national anthem, "O Canada".
This piece features the Canadian Staff Band, the Chicago Staff Band, the New York Staff Band, the Southern Territorial Band, and the USA Western Territory Staff Band. John Lam, conducting.
We hope you have enjoyed re-living the CSB 50 Concert Celebration these last few months. We hope that it has brought you comfort and joy as you experience the power of live music from your home. Please continue to share these selections with your friends and family, to help us deliver the message of God's love and salvation, and the promise of His saving grace.
We have exciting things planned for the near future, so stay connected with us for new and fresh content in our 52nd season.
    Blessings,
The Canadian Staff Band of The Salvation Army

My favourite festival March. Brilliantly performed by an outstanding S.A. brass band. Aussie Geoff.

A brilliant presentation of a brilliant piece of music. One of the first challenging pieces I played as a solo cornetist in the 70’s. And I loved it and still do.

Not involved with the SA. But man this has to be one of the best pieces of music written by a Canadian. I ended up buying this album!

What an amazing assembly of massed bands. I remember playing The Canadian in my SA banding days much more modestly than this amazing tour de force. How about that finale and reception?
