Ye went in on this beat 🥵
On god
Love ❤️
This song will forever be goated to me for the simple fact that this is the first time I ever heard Kanye West's artistry on anything.
He made the Jackson 5 sample so unrealistic. Kanye is a Top 5-3 Producer ever.
Top 1*
Maaann...The early 2000's was a wonderful time, you just had to be there. Kanye killed it with that Jackson 5 beat. The Blueprint is still a hip-hop classic to this day.
Motown, we rock!
It was early 00s had plenty of great songs and rappers who was popping around that time period.
I think this song samples the original song from the early 60s or 70s I Want You Back by The Jackson 5
2000-2005 what an era
Early 2000s wonderful time for life? Dude…….9/11
Hov is a living breathing New York Legend, the fact that I am alive in the same era as he is living in is mind boggling.
Jay and Ye are one of the greatest duos ever
Otis, we rock!
Sag and Gemini, Brother Signs ♐️ | ♊️
Nah
You could tell that wouldn't last
Shame that Ye went insane. He can never come back from the utter bollocks he spouts now. A black man literally supporting and defending Hitler. Unless he gets back on his mental health meds, and keeps taking them, then his music career is over.
Thank Ye for this timeless masterpiece of a beat
kanye has lost his right to be thanked for anything with his recent swan dive off the deep end lol
@@MadDgtl You can't cancel Kanye's musical accomplishments, no matter what he says. The total culture of cancellation was invented for people without their opinion. take it easy

Oh my gosh, this song its bringing me back to my childhood days all over again, I am having a nostalgic moment for my childhood days back in the early 2000s, i was 10 when the song came out and i remember the first time i heard fhis song. I am 32 now and i still come back to listen to this fine song. Just proves how good us millennial kids had it back then but just did not know it at that time because today generation of music is trashed. I wish i could be a kid again and growing up to jay z music all over again, i miss these days
It's not a song but a masterpiece and a hit. It's the good times. Who's listen to this masterpiece in 2024 ?

My mom passed away 2 months ago. I remember how she was looking forward to this album coming out because of this song. And when it dropped on 9/11 she had to get me off the bus because we were let out immediately. She went out the next day and bought it at an FYE in the mall. And this was one of her top 5 songs of all time. I still have the CD to this day. Love you mom.
Rip to mama love I’m sure she loves when you bump this song 💕

How does this only have 3 million views? When this came out this was wildly popular. This song randomly came to my head. I was expecting a hundred million at the very least.
Hov puts up and pulls down his catalogue numerous times off THS platform... I think the views re start each time idk tho...either way tho catalogue came down quite a few times
Jay-Z dropping all the classics lately on RUclips. Respect. Hopefully the youngsters appreciate when rap was actually great and filled with quality lyricism
Because it was his birthday so he has kindly decided to release all his videos for us. But some of the videos are still the same as a decade ago. I mean most are STILL censored! 😤
@@hip2thabone_da_sticky1 well, RUclips standards I guess for Vevo filtered videos. But hey it's mostly about the videos being available more than anything. We'll take it👍
@@mg19cal vevo isn't the reason these old music videos are censored, it's because these were intended to be aired on MTV so I guess they were censored for that reason
Don’t do that, Hip Hop is still filled with quality music, you just love a certain era and that’s fine but don’t take away what these kids are doing, you just sound like KRS-One when he was hating on hip hop in the 2000’s.
Unfortunately they love trash like carti, young thug, and uzi vert
One of Jay Z's greatest songs.
Just realized that Kendrick was paying homage to Hova on Heart Pt. 5 when he said. "I do this for my culture, to let y'all know what a n*gga look like in a bulletproof Rover" 🔥🔥🔥
Yeah I knew it sounded familiar
Them girls in the video back then where something else.. as an African we always wanted to go to America just to see them..
Omg this is sooo nostalgic. Look at nelly, eve,DC, Kanye - they look so young and fresh. I miss this happy/uplifting vibe. Happy bday mr Carter
You think Blue Ivy's mom is a member of DC?
Born in 88… when I was growing up Jay became my favorite rapper when The Blueprint dropped, then Reasonable Doubt became my favorite of all time.. He still is my favorite rapper at 35.
And it’s funny that I still say things to my wife like “Joe (my name) did that so hopefully you want have to go through that”. And it can be as simple as washing dishes 😂😂😂
I swear that’s a bar!!!
Love it. Your wife is lucky to have you.

A moment in time when Ye,Dame and Jigga was as thick as thieves, now gone forever.I elevate my glass to this example of what time does to us as people. Not a single friend or associate from my past left.
"Pay us like you owed us for all the years that you hold us"(Trans Atlantic Slavery). Hov was definitely for his people he just want about it differently than others.
I'm in Africa. Since i'm on youtube, i search the video clip of this song for years !!!! I say yearrrrrrrs !!!! It's was impossible to find the full video. Even through the entire internet and google ! Finally it's release by the HOV himself ! i'm very glad to see this again. these song is too iconic for the culture !

They don't make classic music like these anymore. HOV is the greatest to ever do it. My role model. Inspired me to always keep going no matter how bad the situation is.
This ain't classic
I remember as a 13 year old kid on Long Island waiting for this album to drop. It was supposed to come out on 9/11/2001 and I had saved up money to go to Tower Records, but all plans were cancelled that day. IIRC Hot 97 in NYC was playing this single that summer. I had memorized the lyrics and was completely obsessed. The verses and of course the hook are incredible on this early Kanye West production. This track was all over the radio that summer, it's hard to describe how huge this track was.
Just say “always timeless”
oh wow. What happened on that day? I dont get it./s

This shit brings back so many memories man September 2001..9/11 ... sophomore year in high school just began and then 9/11 happens i remember being in Harlem when it happened and my dad came back from work and told me to turn the TV on ..i immediately ran to the rooftop and couldn't believe what i was seeing and this cut was playing while I was getting ready for school..I'll never forget that crazy it's been 20+ yrs but on a lighter note Jay(who never was my favorite rapper, at this time Nas was my favorite mc) was on fire at the time..and this is the album that put him up there with the greats imo and it'll almost certainly never be topped as my favorite album from Jay....jay seemed like he was having the time of his life on this album ..this cut and this whole album is absolutely classic and it remains by far my favorite Jay album and I love he basically did the whole album by himself except for Renegade which to me was always an Em track because like Nas said Em upped Jay no doubt about it and also since I had already heard Renegade before it was retooled and given to Jay and even more so since Em also produced the song..while Nas has always been the better mc imo and while Stillmatic is also a classic if I had to pick a favorite between this album and Stillmatic id most likely go with Blueprint
I remember those hard times ,thank god we had our music keep us calm

JAY Z N General AIDID IZZO Love
Gotta say now that I'm older the 2nd and 3rd verse are a lot more serious than I remember. Jay is really saying in-depth stuff over a beat that's meant to be fun.
Stg I just said this as I saw this comment
@@Hackaveli Yo, the 3rd verse is dark. He's explaining why he doesn't glorify selling crack, and be honest he doesn't once you really listen. He's paranoid (I keep one eye open like CBS in "Can I Live"), he knows there's an expiration date to it (This Can't Be Life), and he's ashamed of the stress it puts on his mom knowing he's a drug dealer.
The scene he is setting is terrible. People outside selling their moms sofa, a person's dreams of basketball and making it out GONE. All the while, he's under a lamppost in cold weather with crack in his hand, looking out for police. That seems AWFUL.
Like, he raps so fast and his subject matter is so mature it really takes to understand it.
He was talking that real talk on those second and third verses.
Those verses remind me of his verses on Renegade w/ Em.
