Ok, so, hi! Welcome to the fandom :) our fandom name is TOgether. Second, here’s a quick guide: TOO (Ten Oriented Orchestra) were originally formed from a survival show called To Be World Klass in 2019 where the final 10 member lineup that we know today was decided. Initially, the boys were managed by two companies: n.CH Entertainment and Stone Music Entertainment (who are owned by CJ E&M). As TOO, they debuted on April 1st of 2020 with the song Magnolia and later had a comeback that year with the song Count 1, 2. But in August of that year, CJ decided to stop paying n.CH their share of the contract money and essentially kick n.CH out of the contract entirely. Despite n.CH’s best efforts, CJ ended up winning the fight and now have full control over TOO. On March 28th at KCON:TACT 3 TOO were set to perform and revealed that their name had been changed to TO1 (TOgether as 1). The reason behind the name change is unknown. Since then they’ve had two comebacks: Son of Beast and they’re currently on promotions for their newest release No More X which came out on November 4th.
So when TO1 originally debuted last year they used to be called TOO (acronym for Ten Oriented Orchestra) and were managed by two companies: Stone Music Entertainment (who are owned by CJ E&M) and n.CH Entertainment. The two companies had agreed to manage TOO together for 7 years. In April, TOO debuted with the song Magnolia and later had a comeback in July with Count 1, 2, but in August of that year CJ decided to stop paying n.CH their share of the contract money. Although n.CH tried to negotiate terms with CJ E&M, CJ wouldn’t budge and the companies couldn’t come to an agreement on the matter. This was all revealed in January of this year and for about a month and a half TOO were put into this weird standstill on what could possibly happen to them. But in March 28th at KCON:TACT 3 when the boys were set to perform it was revealed that they had changed their name to TO1 (TOgether as 1) and also performed a cover of I Can’t Stop Me. Nowadays TO1 are managed by CJ’s newest sub label WakeOne Entertainment, who also house Jo Yuri and Kep1er among other artists. The reason behind the name change is unknown but my personal theory is that it’s for a sort of “uniformity” among mnet survival show groups. Thinking about it, many groups made from mnet shows have a “one” in them somewhere. Wanna One, X1, IZ*ONE, and now Kep1er - it all feels too coincidental to just be an accident. So having TOO become TO1 just adds to that, but that’s completely just a theory with only assumptive evidence so don’t take it as gospel. But yeah, that’s the story. Our fandom name is TOgether, if you’re still interested in learning more after all that. I can give you show recommendations to watch if you still wanna know more.
