Have you noticed needing to switch up your fading technique because of the wider throw the JRL's have on them? I know they open wider than say a wahl or stylecraft.
Those are the best cordless clippers in my opinion. The thing is if you are not used to cutting with a andis master you may struggle with it because it cuts very similar to the masters because it opens up more than a traditional clipper. Once you understand it more it blends like a beast and is super easy to fade with.
@@Mike-hy8cs How do you do it? If the clipper opens to like a 1 it feels like you should be able to for example blend the no guard to 1 with just lever play.
@@TheBarberPhil i have the pop barber clippers its the exact same as jrl. I fixed that problem by putting a standard wahl cutting blade on it. Since you actually own the jrl ill put a wahl legend blade on it, and youll definitely notice a major difference
@@TheBarberPhil i love em bro. The gold is a perfect golden color its not too dark or orangey lookin. Looks and feel like a 200 dollar clipper. I put a stylecraft blade on mind with the wahl legend cutting blade effortless fades. If something breaks later on down the line ill be copping the same pair if they dont sell out
I notice you are using the gold blade on the silver Babyliss.... which model gold blade is it? There are two... I have the silver FX trimmers also... are the gold trimmers better?
It’s the original gold blade that came on my first pair of FX’s when they were first released. I personally like the gold blade better than the silver blade bc I don’t like how the silver is the deep tooth. It doesn’t glide or scoop as well, it’s meant more for just strictly line ups. The gold blade I can easily scoop through and remove bulk, do curved lines like the C cup, and also put a sharp line up as well.
@@TheBarberPhil hell yeah! Dude school through Covid trying to become a barber is the absolute worst thing I’ve ever been through lol. Oct15 of last year made me in school a year and I still got 250 hours to go. But once it’s done it’s done and I can move on to life and barbering 💪
I was using them straight out of the box, I don’t believe they were fully zero gapped. I currently use the JrL with the Oster Fast Feed blade, and I have it as zero gapped as the blades will allow.
First lol, keep dropping the heat man I see you already got over 500 subs!!!
💪🏼, I’m trying my best
Clean cut bro. Great video man. Keep em coming.
👊🏼, appreciate the support and encouragement! I plan to get a video out again at some point

Honestly bro I love these clippers and the company, these are fire 🔥🔥🔥
I didn’t get to use them a ton, they weren’t bad clippers at all, but at the same time I didn’t get the feeling that I HAD to have them on my station.
@@TheBarberPhil i modified mine w a wahl stagger tooth blade and they are insane
@@ekt3316 they have a ceramic staggered tooth blade out. I believe you can pick them up on Amazon.
@@TheBarberPhil the gold edition jrl
@@ekt3316 did u put just the Wahl staggertooth cutting blade on the stock jrl blade or did u change both cutting blade and the still blade?

They definitely felt very smooth coming through all of the bulk
Honestly I hated the blade on it I got their fade blade and they’re my favorite right now. Bless way smoother and gets out trimmed line in one pass.
How do you cut with clippers that open longer? Do you still need half guards?
@Sam Brismo depends on your technique. Majority of people will still use half guards.

They are great clippers I wish I could put the masters blade on them, this blades snags a lot... cut came out 🔥🔥🔥🔥
👊🏼 really appreciate it. Yea I noticed that they did want to snag a little when all the way open.
