Sheffield's Castle Market

Castle Market was an indoor market in the Castlegate area of Sheffield city centre. The oldest part of the building was the Fish and Vegetable Market, constructed in the inter-war period, extended by a major new building that opened in 1959. The Market closed in 2013 when the Moor Market opened and was demolished in 2015. Castle Market was built over the remains of Sheffield Castle which were later excavated.
