Wait, isn’t it said that midra couldn’t fit for the title of lord of frenzied flame because of enduring the pain for too long ? If yes, why would nanaya tell him to endure if her goal was to make him the lord of frenzied flame ? It would make him unfitting. So maybe nanaya was trying to do the contrary ? Idk im not the theorist here

@@afk2402 I think it was specifically why she said the word of power "Endure" because he failed initially, also I suspect it was her who removed his spine and stabbed him with the thorny sword.
She cursed him to suffer for ages so when he finally has enough then he'll truly lose himself to insanity fully so he can finally become the true Lord of the Frenzied Flame.
He wasn't a failure but a ticking timebomb by the time we find him. Our character simply triggered him before he went fully mad on his own. He was the original long-term plan of the Three Fingers.
He was a threat to all no matter what happened. The Three Fingers try to recruit us to expedite the process but even if it fails to recruit us or we fail at destroying the world, Midra would have been ready to pop by then if ignored.

I think both starscourge radahn and midra are the two best bosses at making you understand why you are fighting them. The whole radahn festival (jerren explaining why the festival exists with that sick radahn cutscene of him feasting on soldiers) and especially the whole midra’s manse and abyssal woods. The frenzy ambience, the screams of midra, the painting showing midra and the woman which, if you pay the slightest of attentions, you realise that her name is nanaya due to the torch you find on her body and midra himself stating her name as he apologises for what he is about to do, release the frenzied flame. It is truly amazing how much lore they crammed into like 6 rooms and a bossfight and it is definitely one of the best easily understandable narratives of all of fromsoftware’s bosses. • @loonzoldick
      @loonzoldick Месяц назад

Babies aren't that big lmao, from the description, it seems Nanaya is a Three Fingers Maiden, like Hyetta she has been body hoping for a while trying to find a worthy lord, she came to the manse with the torch, maybe used their curiosity like "hey i found this, can you investigate?" and from there she seduced Midra, got pregnant and all to give him happiness, while the flame of the torch infected the manse and the woods, when the hornsent got wind of it, they raided the manse and killed everyone, this was part of Nanaya's plan, since taking away the happiness of someone so suddenly would create a large quantity of madness since it would feel unjust (see how the spirit being unaware of the crime! most died without knowing the reason was the flame of frenzy).
Like Hyetta, Nanaya didn't care to live, she wanted to bring forth a new lord of frenzy, so dying while pregnant and cursing Midra with enduring, she thought that would had the job done eventually.
Little did she know our Tarnished would beat Midra, who even then would not let go of his love for Nanaya, who in his eyes wasn't invovled in this.

    Here is my take:
Long ago before Marika destroyed the Hornsent, Nanaya arrived mysteriously at Midra's Manse carrying nothing but this torch. The torch, of course, being the spine of her failed Lord from a distant land. The dying flame atop it may have infected the inhabitants of the Manse and likely Midra himself. Mira succumbed to Nanaya's flame and madness soon crept in. It got to a point where the wider Hornsent civilization was alerted and Jori was sent. The Manse was assailed and many were executed. Midra was impaled but he could not be killed, as the power of the flame protected him. Nanaya's last words to him were "Endure", hoping that the pain would make him strong enough to become lord.
In the end, Midra very well might have been the man to end the world, but us players make sure that does not happen. And so it is that he was too weak to become a true Lord of Frenzied Flame. To me, this confirms that the DLC is meant to be played before you end the game. I'm sure many of you were like "Wait a minute? Aren't I the Lord of Frenzied Flame!?!?!" Of course this makes no sense chronologically as you destroy the world in the Frenzy ending. All I'm saying is that for all of your next Frenzy characters, you have to fight Midra before you kill Radagon, just saying!

    • @androski5247
      @androski5247 Месяц назад +6

I think the spinal column might just be Midra's. It would suggest that Nanaya infiltrated the Manse and seduced Midra a lot more covertly than just rocking up with a failed frenzy lord in tow to take over the Manse. I imagine this seduction would've taken place over the span of at least over a year, maybe even years or decades with the Manse slowly delving into the study and attempted replication of Frenzy into the world; and not to mention she has quite the baby bump by the time she died, so there's no way she would've announced to the Hornsent Elders that she was hijacking their sage's Manse and been able to avoid retribution within a month or even less.
This entire process had to have happened over a very long period of time, and I think this might've even have been one of the first more wide spread summonings of Frenzy. The Hornsent would've had to have known about Frenzy before for them to attack it so fervently, but I think it might've only shown up in small pockets, burning out and destroying a couple spirits before fizzling out, but the Hornsent would've taken notice, and basically put a full ban on any interactions or research into Frenzy Flame. Nanaya was possibly an accident, a shaman who got away from Bonny Village, and in her despair the Frenzied Flame would've found her. She would've descended down the waterfalls, down the catacombs (or possibly more hospitable pathway back when Midra was a frequented elder?), and by the time she would've made her way to the Manse, she would be a disease that would infect the Manse with Frenzy, ever so slowly, the first true epidemic of Frenzy.
As for why Frenzied Flame is far more common in the Lands Between vs the Lands of Shadow, it might be because not only is there is a larger macrocosm of despair in The Lands Between, but while the Hornsent feared the Flame of Frenzy, it might've been a well guarded secret, and Marika might've not known about the Frenzied Flame. She wouldn't have trained her Golden Order to be diligent and eradicate any Frenzied Flame on sight like the Hornsent had, so when she shattered the Elden Ring, and despair gripped the world, Frenzy was able to thrive in that environment, like bacteria thrive in heavily acidic environments. I don't believe Frenzy comes up anywhere outside of the Abyssal Woods in The Lands of Shadow, whereas the base game has the village down in the Weeping Peninsula, the village up in the Bellum Highway, along with all the Shabriri graped ghosts, frenzied trolls, and Merchants, let alone the whole Merchant Caravan buried beneath Leyndell!
Honestly if Elden Ring and it's Factions and Outer Gods were to be compared to Warhammer 40k or League of Legends, Frenzy would be the same as the the realm of Chaos or the Void. Despite all the outer gods, all the factions in service of the outer gods, the Lands Between, and by extension the Lands of Shadow, the Frenzied Flame is the true threat of this universe. Yes the Greater Will had the largest hand in shaping the Lands Between with both the Elden Beast and Metyr, mostly fucking it up in the process, the other outer gods have still had pretty sizeable impacts on the world too, with the god of rot basically terraforming Caelid and the whole underground Lake of Rot, while the Fell God of Ruin took over the Fire Giant culture, and the Mother of Truth established both the Bloodfiends in the Lands of Shadow and then the Mohgwyn Dynasty in the Lands Between. The Frenzied Flame spits on all of this, it's influence in the world isn't to inspire worship and to leave a mark, it's to remove everyone else's mark, the burn it all away. It's like the Vex in Destiny, it wants to be the only thing in the universe, with all other things wiped from existence.

We have a pure fire dragon (agheel), a magic dragon (smarag), a pure ice dragon (borealis), a magic ice dragon (adula), a rot dragon (ekzykes), a ghostflame dragon.
Madness dragon would be so good. And it would make sense. You could say that in a battle, a drake tried to fight Bayle and was gored and utterly ripped apart, barely surviving as he was thrown from the jagged peak and he crashed into the abyssal woods. The flame of frenzy entered him and reanimated him.
And seriously, this is a real opportunity to not simply copy paste it and just change the breath. Change the moveset, make it move strangely as if the flame of frenzy is really the one controlling it. Hell, give it a second phase by making it's eyes or even its jaw and tongue melt away. You could say that the fire is so hot and chaotic that even a dragon body can't handle it.

Since I saw the first trailer with the shot of the painting, Midra’s Manse and Midra removing the sword from his head, I couldn’t wait to visit this area. As soon as I found the Abyssal Woods I realized this is where this would all take place and it all came together perfectly by the end. Some of the best visual storytelling that FS have ever authored.

Honestly haven't seen such a good video intro since Vaati's first analysis of the DLC reveal trailer, amazing work on this Jake! I absolutely love how each shot not only lines up with the music, but the placement of each shot feels like the perfect moment for each new aspect of the Little Nightmares 2 main theme to be introduced, like when the player pulls back the lever in the library, or when we get a shot of Nanaya's corpse.

I remember the first time I pulled up to the woods, and Torrent got fear factored outta use; I turned right tf around and left. After getting through the ruins and lighting some twig on fire I went back before ascending the tower. Once I realized the winter lanterns could be parried, fear turned to anger and I legit used them to learn how to parry for the 1st time. Then I went through the entire woods and massacred each and every one I could find. Only after thoroughly cleansing the woods did I actually stumble upon Midra's Manse and it felt like the game was rewarding me for all my hard work. It kinda did but it was a very Elden Ring kind of reward that involved getting mauled numerous times by various groups of rats and a single big dude that DID NOT like me walking through his hallway.

Radagon is almost certainly Messmer's father, the iconic red hair coupled with the fact that Messmer's crusade and sealing took place AFTER the creation of the Tarnished, since he knows what a Tarnished is.
Thus, long after Marika left to conquer the Lanes Between.
Also, since Midra seems to be a Hornsent I think Marika would sooner die than lay with one, given the depths of her hatred for the whole race.

I believe I have solved this entire story
So long ago when metyr's fingers spoke for the greater will, Midra believed giving the 3 fingers the frenzied flame (convinced by Nanaya) that it would be able to speak for said god like they did for the greater will. Doing this scorched the abyssal woods and cursed the land. This is why the Greater will abandoned Metyr, due to her being easily corrupted by it's enemy
Nanaya is secretly a corpse reanimated by Shabriri, who had the 3 fingers infected with the flame as a back up incase Midra wasn't strong enough to become the lord of frenzy.
Nanaya then snitched and had Midra executed for inheriting the flame, and told him to endure the pain for eternity as to "not let the frenzied flame take hold of him", when in reality the suffering is feeding the power of the flame inside him.
Nanaya/shabriri waited for much time for Midra to succumb, which he never did. So he ditched her corpse and worked on a new candidate (the suffering tarnished, like vyke and yourself)
The portrait of her smiling and Midra looking scared, along with the fingers in the manse justify.
I also believe the spine Nanaya has is actually shabriri's original flame (he is the one who failed long ago), Originally I thought it was Midras spine, but it's too short and you can still see spine bulges on midras back when he stands up.

Nanaya kind of reminds me of Nashandra. 🤨. . . Anyway. could be useful researching the origin or meaning of their names. Nanaya aligns with your hypothesis that she perhaps persuaded him and wanted the child of the frenzied flame: "Nanaya may have originally been an epithet for Inanna, the Sumerian goddess of *love*, sensuality, fertility, *procreation*, and *war*"
Also, the spine she CRADLES is small. Like a child.

This might be your best work. Incredible intro cinematic and I like how even if you chose the frenzied flame ending that our character, the tarnished, is always meant to be the lord. That is why we prevail over miquella and Radahn, and why we can be the frenzied lord instead of Midra if we choose that path.

In keeping with the theory that Marika is the daughter of Midra and Nanaya, I suspect that Marika is the one who wrote on the torn diary page that she touched Midra. It seems to me that Midra may have given orders that he not be disturbed, let alone touched. But Marika defied this commandment. She touched the untouchable. And she learned that the rules and limitations of her Father were within her power to disregard. And these would not be the last.

The arcs could also be a symbol of the greater will itself.
The "Cross" Marica was pinned to before we fight radagon is an Arc.
Her Soreseal and the Symbol associated with her is an exact replica of the catalysts Horncent Inquisitors are carrying.
What is used to activate the Great Runes and arguably connect to the Greater Will, are Rune Arcs.
It also could be argued that the Sword of Damnation is suppressing the Outer God of Frenzy.
If the Abyssal Base Serpent is on the level of an Outer God, Marica's Symbol or Seal can ward of the Influence of outer Gods, similar to the unalloyed Gold needle.

Nanaya is a goddess in the mesopatamian pantheon. Name meaning "she who is pleasing," she was often worshipped as a goddess of love.
Dionysus is best known as the god of wine and fertility, but less known as the patron god of insanity. An often used symbol: a bushel of grapes.
As an aside, in the story of the Bacchae, in retalition for having his worship banned in a kingdom, Dionysus made all the women go insane and hide in the woods. He then disguised himself as a woman, lured the king to the forest, and in their frenzy, the women tore the king into pieces with their bare hands. The kings own mother drove a stick through his head. Yikes.
