Absolutely love my Pro3Vs. Put over 2500 miles on mine since August '22 on my Checkpoint. I have run the CinturatoH and M in the 40mm variants and the H in the 45mm variant. Been a brilliant and reliable wheelset IME. About to order a 2nd set so I can setup some 32mm road-ish tires and have that setup for my more dedicated tarmac adventures. A real bonus with this wheelset is just how simple it is to change out endcaps to convert from Thru Axle to QR standards. This is valuable to me since my Checkpoint has the "modern" thru axle rear whereas my '17 Boone has the QR standard. Swapping out the 2 endcaps takes less than 3 minutes from wheel removal, swapping caps and installing on the Boone and vice-versa.

I've had like, 6 sets of Bontrager wheels and used them for cross, road, gravel, and I now have a set of mtb wheels as well. Im getting to be a fan of the decent price points of the aluminum wheels with these 108(rapid drive) hubs, and I like the carbon wheels as well. I just got these for a set of play wheels/spares. I've been using Paradigm 25s and XXX.

They make a great set of wheels for the price for sure.

Have the same wheels have noticed there is a lot more friction on the free wheel. When the bike is on the stand get the rear wheel spinning as fast as I can then let it coast. The 3V can coast 30 seconds, my other wheels can roll for around 90 seconds. Rotors not rubbing, nothing wrong with bearings. Higher free wheel friction might just be the price for the 108 points of engagement.

Got the same bike and wheels as u. I got the wheels cos I had ordered it along with a frameset from my local trek dealer, but they couldn’t get the frame ( blessing in disguise) and after a 3 month delay I opted for the aspero. And was waiting and waiting for my refund on the deposit, so I asked them to give me a price I couldn’t refuse…and they did. Now waiting xdr freehub as well as a sram rival etap. Original groupset is already sold to a friend but I’m still using it as he’s waiting on his frameset

@@Bike198 great. I used the inner strip supplied instead of tape…makes it a little heavier. And knowing and watching a “destruction” review of the wheelset also lays the mind at ease

I’ve been running the Aeolus Pro 3V on my Checkpoint since early 2022 and have no complaints. Rock solid wheels and great build quality. I’m currently running the Bontrager GR2 tires in 40 mm width. The 25MM internal width of this rim stretches this tire to a measured width of 41.5 mm. This is not the fastest tire but it rolls well in all conditions.
