I've got that very Seiko! Nobody else on RUclips seems to have given it the time of day, it seems to be a watch that has flown very much under the radar. I never expected to see it on RUclips - is it even still on sale? It's so weird to see you just pull that one out of the hat. I don't share the fanatical love of Seiko that you and many other online watch lovers seem to have, but this was one of the first watches I bought when I started collecting and I've never stopped loving it. That silver honeycombed dial is pretty unique. And the fact that it's solar is the cherry on the cake. PS. The sapphire glass is a nice discovery too.
All great choices. I got a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical from Jomashop a few months ago, and just got a Seiko SNXS79 from them a couple days ago. Some good deals on there for sure. The wife's comments were insightful as always!
Lucky enough to have the rangeman already in black and in green. They are bulletproof watches. The Hamilton would be my next choice from the list. That thing is lovely. Great selection there.
@@BulldogBadger massively under appreciate both of mine. They deserve so much more wrist time. Too many watches to have a go at now but it’s a good problem to have.
Superb job very well rounded collection. Not sure it can be beaten. Plus who doesn't agree that a Hamilton khaki is a near perfect watch, your wife loved it. I was expecting you to select the 5600 as your beater watch but the rangemam has so much utility with its compass and sensors, can't disagree. From my own collection my 4 watch collection would be: BEATER: G-SHOCK DW5600E-1V ($50) EVERYDAY: Seiko 5 Sports SRP513 ($275) DIVER: Seiko Samurai SRPB55K1 ($400) Bonus: Citizen Promaster Air Nighthawk Pilot [BJ7000-52E] ($248)
Good move Sir to avoid the quartz. I just had the pleasure of changing the battery on my Casio Edifice Efv-110d. I'm already counting down the days until I do it again. Oh, that sexy Seiko..honeycombs indeed..
Excellent selection there Russ. Thay Kamasu was a great find. Love the FOOOOOOMAAAAAY dial! 🤣The Seiko is very cool as well. I have a Seiko Coutura Solar Chronograph and it's the dogs maraccas!
Here's what I'd do using Jomashop: - Casio GA2100-1A1 (Black Casioak): Nice beater for playing sports and such. - Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical H69439511 (white dial): Core everyday piece. I prefer the white dial here to balance out the collection. - Certina DS 2 Chronograph C024.447.11.051.02: HAQ Chronograph with great finishing and features at this price. The green accents make it pop a bit and this watch is just a steal at this price - Orient Kamasu RA-AA0811E19B (teal dial): Diver. Same watch as yours but I think a collection needs a little color and the teal dial will be great in the summer. Comes out a smidge over 1k at 1030$ but not gonna fuss over it. Your picks are really good and I had a hard time improving them but I still prefer mine due to the color choices and I think the Certina >>>> that Seiko. Good vid m8! Keep it up. :)
My current collection: Invicta Pro Diver: daily Citizen Pro Master Eco Drive: dress watch Casio DBC-11: alternative dress watch, for no-tie office-casual. Looks really good with slacks and a Polo. G-Shock 9052: beater Casio Duro: not currently in use--battery is dead. (Although it will make a good alternative beater/daily if I ever get it fixed) Casio A500: Alternative daily--countdown timer is great for cooking, or waiting for a seat at a restaurant.
Another great video! Along with Khaki and Kamasu, my personal preference would be G Shock solar square (w combi bracelet) instead of Rangeman, and Seiko SRK047 instead of the Solar White. It is a great looking quartz dress watch with sapphire crystal and cream dial.
The Orient Logo has old school 50/60s vibes - and 100% looks like the logo off a pack of cigarettes one's grandparents would have smoked!!!🤣 That said, I am an outlier who loves the Orient logo. 🤷♂️
I agree with the Rangeman as a beater. For an everyday watch I’d actually wear a diver, specifically a Seiko ISO diver, either a Turtle or a Samurai. That lets me bring in a dress watch (what you’d wear with a suit and tie, like the Orient Bambino 2nd generation or the Timex Marlin 34mm), and for a “fun” watch i’d go with one of the translucent G-Shock Bluetooth watches, like the GA-B001G ana-digi or the DWB-5600G black digital.
It is not a Kamasu. It is Kamasu II, the second iteration. The first Kamasu has rectangular indices, the second one rounded, except for 3, 6, 9 and 12.
That Seiko is so awesome, especially for the price. I was looking at the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer - this watch shares the 100M water resistance, solar quartz - okay it's not quite as snazzy but at 1/3 of the price it's really cool.
3 Japanese, 1 Swiss, solid collection. I like Orient Kamasu and it's the best of 4. I would rather go for Citizen solar models instead of Hamilton. My preferences is handiness of quartz models nowadays. Many of my automatic models are just sleeping in the watch box.
Gday rusty, always puts a smile on my face with both anticipation of new content and your unique fun and energetic style. Plus as a bonus all your watches are in my lane. Onya 👍

The Seiko is a great find. The others I can take or leave. That Seiko dial and dial arrangement is awesome. Great review Russ. A separate review of the Seiko would be fab
EDC: Lorus 38mm field (SS or Ti) full-lume (the Chuck Norris to Hamilton’s Steven Seagal 😜) Sport/Travel: Casio Edifice EQB-1100D (w/ brush finish…yum) Dress/Vintage(esque): Orient Multi-Year (just always loved the elegance of the multi-year solution, even if it IS unreadable) Diver: Citizen Orca (one of the few non-homologous, non-meh, ISO-compliant divers. And no y-fronts).
Great choices. I like Jomashop. I have ordered several watches from them. I think I will go on their sight and see what I would buy for a 4 watch collection under 1000. I can already tell you the Kamasu with the green dial will probably be one of them or maybe the Triton.
1) Islander Bayport - 300.00 2) Casio GW5000U-1JF - 200.00 3) Orient Mako II (mod) - 150.00+ 4) Some nice meals out with the extra cash. Maybe a new Volkl Tour 10 MP 🤷🏼 Alternately: Baltic Aquascaphe dual crown - 700 Islander Bayport - 300 Alternately: double the budget and score that Sinn 104 I St Sa, anthracite dial + H-link, that I shoulda bought in 2019 at 1200.00 before the price inflated by 50% Edit: Russ, you're right! @@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Ahhh! The Jomashop factor 🤔 I edited my op to reflect that, nossir, I can't seem to fit within the guidelines. And I know Joma isn't selling racquets 🎾 Great list btw 👍
Fun fact about that Seiko Macchina Sportiva: it was designed by legendary Italian auto designer Giorgetto Giugiaro! I have one in a blue dial. Fantastic!
The Hamilton mechanical would be in any price limited collection... as long as the price limit covered the Hamilton. I would be inclined to add an F-91W and/or an Illuminator Electro luminescent (if you can find one) even if it wasn't from Jomashop. Great choices Russ.
my 4 watch rotation : - Casio GA2100 - beater - Smiths Everest - everyday - Seiko SKX 007 - diver - Eterna Matic Kon-Tiki 100m - vintage (from the 90's) - special with some luck, you can get all of them(used) for about 1000 E
It’s a great selection!!! Not sure where I stand on the Smiths Everest. The actual Smiths watch that went up with the Rolex to Mount Everest is special and had a small seconds subdial. But for a Smiths to homage a Rolex ??????? Cheapens the brand;( now!!!!! Find me a better 4 watch collection on Jomashop!!!!!?
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR with the Smiths I compromised ... I know that the real model that was on Hillary's wrist was totally different (and the Rolex was not an Explorer either), but until I will be able to get a solid 1016 - I will keep this little homage (with a good story) in my collection.
I love that Seiko, I have every class it hits covered and yet I still kinda want it. It's a lot like my Citizen eco drive chrono but, the dial is so unique.
Best everyday watch: the Casio Lineage LCW-M100TS. I saw it in Ben’s watch club and it’s almost perfect (with iluminated digital display and more micro adjustments, it would be).
I'm not good at picking small watch collections because my tates vary, but these are excellent choices, Russ. I have yet to get my hands on and Orient. But if I was, I would definitely get this very diver first and foremost. That Seiko at the end was a pleasant surprise, too. Well done.
That Seiko is gorgeous and the wife is absolutely right. It looks wonderfully racy. I am looking for a solar watch, but over 600 Euro for the Seiko Speedmaster is a bit steep. This might just do it.
From Singapore and in conversion SGD to USD. These are mine… Beater watch Casio GA-B2100 S$160/US$119 Everyday wear Seiko 5 SRPJ39K1 S$320/US$239 Desk diver Citizen Promaster Fugu NY0139-11E S$319/US$238 Special watch that I love Casio Edifice ECB-S100HG S$320/US$239
Using Jomashop I've come up with my own list for just under $1000 - Firstly the DW5600 as it's a classic, respected by all, and would make a long lasting beater watch. I've dropped most of the budget on the everyday watch as this is going to get most of the use, I think the Tissot gentleman Powermatic 80 is the perfect choice here, great reliable swiss movement, understated looks, great heritage and it can be dressed up or down depending on the situation. The Orient Kamasu is just the obvious and best choice for a diver at less than $200 so this was a no brainier and finally the DressKX which in my opinion is Seiko's best budget option but I've gone for two tone just to mix things up and add a splash of colour into the mix and to keep things exciting. Beater - $60 - Casio G-Shock DW5600 Everyday - $530 - Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Diver - $160 - Orient Kamasu Bonus - $240 - Seiko SRPE60

Here's my "All Seiko" 4 under $1k (on Jomashop):

Every Day - SEIKO 5 Automatic Grey Dial Men's Watch Item No. SNXS75K1 - $99.99
Diver - SEIKO 5 Sports GMT Automatic Brown Dial Men's Watch Item No. SRPJ47 - $245.00
Something a little different: SEIKO Recraft Automatic Green Dial Stainless Steel Men's Watch Item No. SNKM97 - $139.99
That's only $634.97 total (and yes, Jomashop has a sale on...that might be part of the price tag)
Great video @The Mad Watch Collector - shows folks you don't have to break the bank for a great collection!!
The Seiko is a great find. The others I can take or leave. That Seiko dial and dial arrangement is awesome. Great review Russ. A separate review of the Seiko would be fab
Cheers my friend!!! Yeah was a great little find!
EDC: Lorus 38mm field (SS or Ti) full-lume (the Chuck Norris to Hamilton’s Steven Seagal 😜)
Sport/Travel: Casio Edifice EQB-1100D (w/ brush finish…yum)
Dress/Vintage(esque): Orient Multi-Year (just always loved the elegance of the multi-year solution, even if it IS unreadable)
Diver: Citizen Orca (one of the few non-homologous, non-meh, ISO-compliant divers. And no y-fronts).
I love the Seiko. My collection: Beater+Diver: Casio ae-1200-wh oil filled. My everyday: Doxa Sport (1963) . extra: Marvin Jumbo Bicolor (1950s).
After 1.5 years, love the Kamasu.
Great choices. I like Jomashop. I have ordered several watches from them. I think I will go on their sight and see what I would buy for a 4 watch collection under 1000. I can already tell you the Kamasu with the green dial will probably be one of them or maybe the Triton.
Crazy as usual, love it.
Love the crazy cat(?) on the Casio caseback. Even better than the mudman mole!
1) Islander Bayport - 300.00
2) Casio GW5000U-1JF - 200.00
3) Orient Mako II (mod) - 150.00+
4) Some nice meals out with the extra cash. Maybe a new Volkl Tour 10 MP 🤷🏼
Alternately:
Baltic Aquascaphe dual crown - 700
Islander Bayport - 300
Alternately: double the budget and score that Sinn 104 I St Sa, anthracite dial + H-link, that I shoulda bought in 2019 at 1200.00 before the price inflated by 50%
Edit: Russ, you're right! I can't seem to do it... lol. Lucky I don't have to choose.
Great choices!!! Now do one one the Jomashop website !!!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Ahhh! The Jomashop factor 🤔 I edited my op to reflect that, nossir, I can't seem to fit within the guidelines. And I know Joma isn't selling racquets 🎾 Great list btw 👍
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR it's a fun experiment to work within a set of constraints set by someone else. Weird Al made a career of it 😂
the wife's opinion part is always the best part to me :D :D
Fun fact about that Seiko Macchina Sportiva: it was designed by legendary Italian auto designer Giorgetto Giugiaro! I have one in a blue dial. Fantastic!
Citizen Promaster mechanical , Orient Bambino , Casio Duro , Sea- Gull 1963 . A affordable collection .
Great choices!!!! Now do it only using Jomashop website!
again a mad review with four beauties!!! thanks 😂😂😂
The Hamilton mechanical would be in any price limited collection... as long as the price limit covered the Hamilton. I would be inclined to add an F-91W and/or an Illuminator Electro luminescent (if you can find one) even if it wasn't from Jomashop. Great choices Russ.
Cheers Anthony! Yeah, I think an F91 would do fine!
I Would get into Trouble for that SEIKO..!
Hahahahahaha
The Hamilton gets GLOWING reviews from Mrs MWC, that means I have to purchase it now I suppose🤷♂️🤣
It has to be good!!
The Hamilton is on my list, I got the Seiko 5 field watch and now gone down a rabbit hole of field watches 🤣
my 4 watch rotation :
- Casio GA2100 - beater
- Smiths Everest - everyday
- Seiko SKX 007 - diver
- Eterna Matic Kon-Tiki 100m - vintage (from the 90's) - special
with some luck, you can get all of them(used) for about 1000 E
@@georgedobre88 you do you my friend and enjoy!
Just got the same Kamasu with blue-green dial few hours ago and now it's in your video :D
Superb enjoy!!! I know you will
I love that Seiko, I have every class it hits covered and yet I still kinda want it. It's a lot like my Citizen eco drive chrono but, the dial is so unique.
Best everyday watch: the Casio Lineage LCW-M100TS.
I saw it in Ben’s watch club and it’s almost perfect (with iluminated digital display and more micro adjustments, it would be).
Superb!!! I guess I’m a purist when it comes to an everyday watch. Cogs and wheels for me.
Nice collection, but I always prefer to have an ana-digi watch in any collection. :)
I'm not good at picking small watch collections because my tates vary, but these are excellent choices, Russ. I have yet to get my hands on and Orient. But if I was, I would definitely get this very diver first and foremost. That Seiko at the end was a pleasant surprise, too. Well done.
Cheers Chris! I had a lot of fun doing the show!
That Kamasu might just be my next watch, beauty!
Cartier tank, the og beater watch.
Oh yeah but……. Not really
I like to see someone thinking outside the box great video mate
This is a very sophisticated sales speech
That Seiko is gorgeous and the wife is absolutely right. It looks wonderfully racy. I am looking for a solar watch, but over 600 Euro for the Seiko Speedmaster is a bit steep. This might just do it.
From Singapore and in conversion SGD to USD. These are mine…
Beater watch Casio GA-B2100 S$160/US$119
Everyday wear Seiko 5 SRPJ39K1 S$320/US$239
Desk diver Citizen Promaster Fugu NY0139-11E S$319/US$238
Special watch that I love Casio Edifice ECB-S100HG S$320/US$239
Owning this Kamasu in green I must say, the best watch ever for me. Wouldn’t change for any Rolex 😅
Beater - $60 - Casio G-Shock DW5600
Everyday - $530 - Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80
Diver - $160 - Orient Kamasu
Bonus - $240 - Seiko SRPE60
Yes, No, Yes, Yes. The Hamilton let’s itself down with that lack of screw down crown. Great show. No Moonswatch?? 🤣🤣
'It couldn't be a diver - but it could try'. Classic, lol.
