Thank you for doing this. I’m really anxious to try it. How do you know if it’s power coated not spray painted? I do etching with creme so I know about keeping stencil good and level. Going to try soon.
I just looked for powder coated on Amazon and hoped that it was what I needed. When you get it, usually powder coating is a textured surface vs spray paint would be smoother. Otherwise, we are learning as we go.
Do you think using a soft or extrasoft bristled toothbrush in circular motion would help get along the edges when removing the paint or does it need to be something more firm but nonabrasive?
For me, it's worth the extra time to make sure it turned out and a blank wasn't wasted. I did see one video by Mr. Crafty Pants I believe, who sped up the process with a heat gun. I did not watch the entire video as I wasn't using that technique but my thought was fumes from the heated stripper. However, check it out to see of its an option for you to try.
You remind me of myself and my husband. Thanks for adding a little bit of humor with the ‘citrus scented stripper’ 😅
You are welcome! I just never know what he will do - lol!
Thanks for doing this. I love that you can use this cream instead of etching cream. Looks great & your directions were great.
You are welcome and thank you!
You two make a great duo!! Love the video!
Thank you!

What kind of vinyl do you use?

You could try but you don't want to scratch the stainless steel.
Love this! Thank you!
You are welcome!
Thanks I’m going to a thrift store toady see if I can find couple to try out
You are welcome!
You guys are hilarious 😂
Can you seal that with anything
It should not need to be sealed. The tumbler I used is stainless steel under the powder coating. But you could definitely try if you wanted to.
"It's a river of slime!"
Well that is interesting - I like the idea and you are using a product that I can actually buy here in Australia!!!
Thank you.
Yay!
I wish you would have done 1 cup less then 1 hour Mark that way you can see the difference (that way you know if it really needed an hour)
