I like what you did with the last scene of your portfolio. He thought he missed the target completely, but he unexpectedly landed every target behind it. Very funny work you did.
2d still is common. It’s just not what you think it is. If you pull up the kids shows on Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network, hell even Disney Channel, a majority of them utilize 2D animation. The difference is that in some of the shows they animate the characters using 2D puppets, so to speak, so it is not frame by frame. Teens titans go uses this, for instance. However, many shows like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, all used traditional styles of animation.
Pine Drop Pye AJ YES LIKE DISNEY NEEDS TO MAKE 2D AGAIN! Like come on we have brother bear, robin hood, mulan, hunch back of notre dame and so many more amazing films! Also the lion king and Lady and the tramp too!
My my, the youtube layout really hates animators. How do all these fnaf, brony, and furry crap get popular. While the talented are left in the dirt. It's frustrating.
James Mitchell that's just how the algorithm works man. Which kinda irks me somehow that those toys channels gets like 20-50 million views each vids, while this one is barely even 100k views
How about we don’t hate on people doing what they love just because they are popular! I’m sure the animator supports all animators, and would not want other people’s hard work put down just because it has more views than their own :>
I wish this person had more subs... but what i don’t like is seeing people who animate differently are being hated.. like yeah, so what? They make memes and stuff but its up to them! I only make animation memes because its what got me into animation, and in the future i hope to make animation like this! We all start some where and animations that some people are hating at is a helpful beginning for younger people to start animating
You are such a inspiration to me. I know you aren't a Disney animator, but you're that damn good! I inspire to work at Cartoon Network and create my own cartoons, and then maybe move up to Disney, but there's a low chance of any of that happening.
there really is a low chance of that happening. I don't wanna bring you down but I think you know how many people apply to disney every year, its a scary number. Even Cartoon Network is a far fetched thing. I suggest lower your expectations and think smaller for the time being, building up a professional portofolio as you go along.
@@kaneda7368 good advice my friend. My sister's been working as a freelance artist since she was 20 and has dreamed to work at Studios like Cartoon Network and DreamWorks. She may not be working there just yet but she's built a really strong portfolio and is proving herself time and time again in the creative industry. Currently she's working with Lionsgate right now but since she's working with professionals in the field, her chances of breaking into a place like DreamWorks or Cartoon Network are getting bigger and bigger. All this to say that no matter how impossible your dreams may seem continue to work on them and never give up, never surrender, because one day you'll finally make it.
@@kaneda7368 I'll have to disagree with you here, I think it's better to aim high and miss cause there's a chance it'll actually land, and if it doesn't you can still retry. There's no harm in trying and hoping. I'm still a student so I have no experience with that, but my animation teacher has worked for Illumination, Disney and Netflix (getting hired by Illumination while still im his las school year) and he advised us to aim towards our goal and dream, however high that may be.
@@alexisnotabrocoli4502 maybe i fucked up my wording but i think the main idea was to focus on building a portofolio and work to show off to any studio, not just the big ones. If you don't go to calarts its pretty hard to land a job at disney righy after graduation, for example, because thats where they go to look. There's talent and hard work involved, but also a lot of luck. Many studios will send out applications, but 9/10 they've already chosen a candidate previously through networking in those big schools, or someone who has been in the industry.
@@kaneda7368 Oh right! I see, my bad :) Yeah it's definitely the kind of job for which networking is crucial. Can't really complain about that if I manage to get through my 3 years of school, the networking and partnerships are know to be pretty incredible .
I feel like the last one has a really interesting message. We can get so focused on one particular aspect of our life that anything we do that doesn't directly hit that feels like a miss, when in fact we're learning other things along the way
Sigh, such a pity. Look at these brilliant talented artists who put their time, effort in hard work just to provide entertainment for our weary eyes. And yet they aren't bring appreciated enough. Tsk, tsk RUclips outta be ashamed of itself.
The lizard reminds me of that poacher's lizard in the Rescuers Down Under. The sneezing guy is like me when I get allergies, and I think my favorite clip is the guy throwing darts.
I dont even want to make the “hey Disney called, they want their star animation back” because you should just actually apply for Disney if you don’t already cuz WOW.
You're taking into account your fundamentals very well in everything you've shown here. The weakest animation is in the last shot, but it has the strongest gag! I like that its in there. How did you color the knight?
All of these are awesome! The last scene is my absolute favorite, incredibly creative! I'd say that the weakest point in my opinion was the lip sync in the first clip, but other than that everything looks great and smooth!
animations drawn frame by frame are much better than the character base method most of the current animators use today. it's like comparing disney's hardly worked animations, all drawn by hand, with gorgeous body rotation which almost looks 3d, to any of the cartoons we have right now on the television where they just move limbs up and down to call those "animations"
2D is amazing... and the same animation principles apply in 3D. 3D you are using puppets which you make in a computer. Both 3D and 2D take a lot of work to do and learn.
This was absolutely beautiful. Everything was so smooth, but I feel like some of the actions could’ve been a little less in between, and a little bit more snappy. It made it feel a little too floaty other than that it was absolutely magnificent. The physics were very well-made all the key points in the animation were very visible, everything managed to keep a very solid form, especially for some of the angles you were trying to achieve overall incredible work
0:28 I don't remember what the name of the music video was but I know it had something to do with gigolos and if you played SF3 it's also where one of Elena's victory animation's is from
I wish i was this good lol I'm working on an animated pilot but because I'm doing the animation in its entirety myself sadly i have to sacrifice fluidity to get through the line art quicker if i had just a single assistant i could get way cleaner line work done but it is what it is lol
I like what you did with the last scene of your portfolio. He thought he missed the target completely, but he unexpectedly landed every target behind it. Very funny work you did.
thanks for explaining...
I LOVE that part!
Yeah! That part was brilliant!
That could be a metaphor :)
Amazing work. This is exactly why 2D animation must return to the new generation of kids.
+A Dick Production I'm working on a cartoon project. would you be interested in contributing a piece of animation to the project?
it has already returned!! through anime
@@Kallastar. you havent watched enough anime and you are very weird

Yea is it just me or does anyone else think 2D is better then 3D
There is no 3d. We can only recognize 2dimensional.
Your not alone because I agree

Richard Williams would be very proud of these animations if he were alive today. ❤
no
This is sooo goood! OMFG! :D
1:30 onward is a great analogy for life and finding yourself.
Or maybe not following your passions.
i understood why people confuses the Klaus animation exercise. because klaus is release on 2019, this video came out on 2016 lol
I dont even want to make the “hey Disney called, they want their star animation back” because you should just actually apply for Disney if you don’t already cuz WOW.
The animations are extremely smooth
The Merlin bit was phenomenal, great stuff :)
That last segment with the Darts. Genius.
That last one waa genious!!! The other clips were also really good animation, but that last animation made me laugh out loud. Really creative!
Loved how clever you were with the Sword in the Stone characters and Jungle Book characters since both movies share some repeated animation.
0:16 Holy cow that is one nimble knight. that must have been one hell of a cycle to animate
The ending signifies of, no matter how many times you miss your shot. Your still hitting your shot through repetition and errors.
This is brilliant! All of these are ASTONISHINGLY well animated! My favorite is the sneeze one!
2d has gotta return, Mowgli and Merlin are counting on it
I lit up when I saw Baloo appear.
That was good

Amazing, feels really good to see Goofy and Donald animated in classic style.

wait this was all you?! you're incredible! 2D animations the best.
So fluid and flawless. Outstanding.
your animation is so good. you need stories to engage the audience.good luck
Not sure how I got to this video, but you're so talented.... Keep up the great work.
i actually really liked the dancing girl with the big nose, very unconventional and still beautiful in her own way
This needs more views! Your really really good at this!
