  • A visit to the Adelaide Zoo ‘Light Creatures’, part of the ‘Illuminate Adelaide’ is, in our opinion, an absolute must.
Kag & Ali booked in to explore the zoo in a ‘very different light’ indeed. I was particularly excited as I had missed seeing ‘my’ night-time animal friends, whom I have grown very fond of over the past few months whilst doing the Dark History Tours and Paranormal Investigations there (it would good to see my lovely security guards too).
If you get to the zoo for the lights and see a queue trailing down as far as the eye can see, please do not despair. This is such a well-organised event and the line-up goes down extremely quickly. Before even getting to the zoo gates, the QR code has already been done and, because the tickets are bought in advance, they are scanned quickly and entrance to the zoo is very smooth and extremely easy.
We don’t want to spoil what the event has in store for you, except to say that the giant inflatable creatures as extremely well done and the lights are stunning. We do recommend that you take your time as you wander around the zoo. Listen to the music and any stories being told.
There are food and drink outlets scattered around the zoo for you to purchase.
What we as a group particularly loved, was the way the paths were lit up and you followed these winding laneways to find hidden treasures. It was such a calming experience and a thing of beauty too. Photographers, please be aware; it is an absolute dream for you, as some of the colours were slowing, but constantly changing, every shot is different, every shot is beautiful.
There may be people out there that are concerned about the animals at the zoo during this time. Having had contact with staff, zookeepers and security as well as doing tours at the zoo for a number of months, I can honestly say that these animals are very well-loved and extremely well cared for.
    Highly recommended.

Thank you Kag & Ali for your video; the event looks very interesting.
Just wondering: The music that featured in the your video - was that actually the event music being played through speakers live at the event, or was it overdubbed in post production?

Hi Angela, the music is all by Kevin Mcleod. The tracks are listed in the write up with the video, so not the event music :)

I really wanted to go but it would do a blow to my bank account considering I went there for a daytime visit for 120$. I wish to work there in the future though

It looks amazing!! We did a similar thing at Taronga Zoo in Sydney a few years back. So clever how they are all created.
