Thank you for sharing these. Things sure is different back then, even the Toyo Tires' logo at 1:50 looks simple compared to what we used to seeing it now lol.

It says "TIRE" not "TIRES" though.
The current style of the *TOYO TIRES* logo already existed back then.
Take a look at the cars from the original Fast And Furious movie that was produced in 2000.

Japan was always ahead of the game. Many of these cars look like they are period correct today. Insane really. While American car culture was stuck on rice, Japan didn't fall into that category.

What do you mean by "look like they are period correct today"?
By the way, the US Import Tuner scene was inspired by the JDM scene!

@@Kev27RS How do you not understand where I'm coming from? Rice was never a JDM thing! USDM tuner scene went crazy with the oddball stuff like insane interiors and bodykits with awful wheels.
JDM style was always super clean. There were extreme bodykits and what not, but you could tell the obvious difference between the cars here in Tokyo Auto Salon and the ones in the US.
Yes, there were USDM tuner cars that were nicely done as well. BUT, for the most part it wasn't all like that.

@@CJDavid-pe9ue The way you formulated that "look like they are period correct today" sentence, doesn’t really make sense.
If this was a video about *Tokyo Auto Salon 2024* and the cars were the *same ones* as shown *here* in this early 2000s video, then yes, those would be "period correct" to the late 90s - early 2000s!
Not everything was clean in Japan, just like not everything was crazy looking in the US!
Just take a look at US tuning magazines or videos from around 25 years ago.
Import magazines like: SPORT COMPACT CAR, SUPER STREET, IMPORT TUNER, etc.
You’ll see how diverse styles were but at the same time, it was creative and fresh.
Each car looked different from each other! (unlike today…)
It was an exciting and creative period of time!
Take a look at Japanese tuning magazines and videos and you’ll see how similar customization styles were in both countries.
Both pretty much took inspiration from each other! 😉
      Cheers
