In regards to Ryan's love for transitions, nuances, grooves and interest in Maynard's 3 amazing bands. I'd love to see these guys react to A Perfect Circle's "The Noose". That song has ALL KINDS of sick groove/drop ins and outs. Not sure how much a youtube public comment/suggestion is taken notice to, (not a Patreon member)...but meaning to. Been subscribed to the youtube channel for a couple years if that counts. :) Please consider this suggestion. Anyone else with me on this one??
Oh man, yes
Yep! 😎
YEP!!
thats a good one. disillusioned as well
Orestes and The Noose are the 2 best APC songs
Check out The Humbling River
I did. Good stuff. Try G.O.A.T. by Polyphia
I agree. An absolute favorite.
One of my favorite lyrics ever!
Momma Sed is great as well
Yes, great song.
This is one of those albums that sounds strange at first but it then grows on you.
Everyone gets that same small smile when they hear Maynard sing...
Meh
Guilty.
It’s his tone and his vibe. Touches the soul just enough ♥️
Even better with Carina amplifying it with her amazing harmonization
Facts!
Bedlamite was amazing as well. They had a virtual concert that has since been taken down, but it was a performance of the full album. It was one of the most amazing performances I have seen. Hoping for a Blu-ray release.
It would be nice to see them do a reaction to Bedlamite.
That sunrise......God damn did that feel like a flashback from long nights tripping. That show was a trip in itself. Bravo!!
@@mikek.3642 Oh, definitely. The video does go well with tripping. Lol.
It's my fav track on the record. The sunrise footage accompanying that song during the concert kinda made me break down a bit every time I watched it while I had access to the stream.
Yes, the genius of ending the show with a sunrise and a chorus line of "Everything is gonna be alright". It was magical, I went to bed one happy old man.
I would watch an entire Maynard Music Marathon!
+1 for a Maynard marathon!
Yeah I would watch
Me too. Indefinitely. 😊
He's brilliant.
Yessss 🙌🙌🙌
This whole album is amazing to me. Don't see a lot of love for Bread and Circus, but it's my favorite. At least for today.
its grown on me - in my top 3 from the album atm
That's one of mine as well along with Grey Area (though I wish it was a bit longer, seeing a lot of potential lol)
One of my favorites as well
My top 3 on the album is
1) A Singularity
2) Bullet Train to Iowa
3)Bread and Circus
@@LoneWolf-zv8pm
1) Bread and Circus
2) A Singularity
3) Bullet Train to Iowa/Grey Area
Please react to Tool’s Rosetta Stoned, you guys are gonna love it!
I feel it's most genuine as it reacts to his mother.
That concert stream they did was DOPE, wish you all could have seen that.
So many interesting words used to describe our friend Maynard.
The dude is frickin weird, there's no shame in admitting it
INFJ personality - check it out
Weird is as weird does. 😎
@@mouseshadow5828 as am I according to the test. 🙄😁👍
Weird is wonderful 😉
One of those weird artsy-fartsy assholes I hated so much in college, but I love Tool, and sort of like Pusifer. So he’s not someone I’d ever hang out with, but I like the music.
This song sounds like something Tarantino would use in a movie. Another artsy-fartsy douche I’d never get along with, but enjoy his movies.
Personally, I loved “Apocalyptical” and I wasn’t a Puscifer fan until listening to that song. And the music video was entertaining.
This is the first album of puscifer I listen to front to back
@@cochisenahuh7939 you need to pick up Money Shot, Donkey Punch the night, and Conditions of my parole then.
@@cochisenahuh7939 go back and try the others, you're in for a treat!
Same here, it was the first Puscifer song I ever heard and I loved it
Maynard dressed as an agent just tapping his foot lmfao!
I really liked this! Puscifer has never really grabbed me like Tool and A Perfect Circle, but this sounded great! Gonna check out the new album tomorrow.
Check out "Coniditions of My Parole", "The Humbling River", and "The Remedy" by them, absolute bangers
after all these years, i still can't get into V is for Vagina, but Conditions of my Parole and Money Shot and now this are all absolutely fantastic. The remixes... to me are... eh. lol
@@TroublesomeOwl The lyrics in the Blestenation remix for Queen B are hilarious though.
For me, the mixes on C is for ... are all I prefer to listen to. Mila was an awesome addition.
this hits the humour tones... the album is unreal.
"Creative but not overindulgent" is a great way to describe Puscifer and Tool, in general. I think Maynard is very respectful of his audience and understands that his audience is smarter than most people think.
My favorite Puscifer song is "Conditions of My Parole". It's different, but I love it.
“Yeah, it’s there,” he says. “But people miss it because they’re so focused on the other bullshit.”
He shakes his head.
“It’s lost. Insufferable people . . . It’s just ridiculous, retards. I’m sorry. Can’t help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up.”
With later clarification:
It is unfortunate that during an interview about Puscifer's Friday release of Money Shot, a comment I made, in the context of a much lengthier discussion about obsessive fanatics, was taken out of context by a few “news” outlets so they could drive up their own readership. It's called clickbait and it's boring. Our core fanbase aren't fanatics. They're music lovers, artists and good people. It's the fanatics that are insufferable.
I love "the conditions of my parole". His fans take him way to serious. He said Im in 3 bands with names that are slang terms for genitalia
@@TheClayCoKid My goal in life is to perform Conditions of My Parole as karaoke. It's on my staylist and I can sing it word for word.
"Respectful" of his audience? LOL, he hates us all! If we got tossed into "Arizona Bay", he'd grab the popcorn and watch. I can see it now .... Maynard up on a perch somewhere, sipping his Caduceus wine and laughing maniacally as he watches us struggle against a current that's dragging us out to sea while we're desperately clinging to the bloated corpses of those who spent their last living moments kicking themselves for saying they "wouldn't be caught dead taking ghetto swim classes at the Y". Our beloved Maynard is an insufferable twat, but we love him anyway. He's immensely talented and his music moves us, so we decide to embrace him despite his trolling and douchebaggery. We realize our love will never be reciprocated, but that's okay. No matter what we might claim, we MJK fans would drop to our knees Wayne-and-Garth-style and yell "We're not worthy!" if that rude, egotistical asshole Maynard ever showed up on our doorsteps.
You guys are awesome ! Honestly the best reaction series on RUclips who really show an interest and appreciation in the music and the artists and not just cringe reactions - respect :)
This is the first time, you have actually steered me towards exploring a new band.
I have heard most all of what you review, but have not heard this band or song.
Thank you for keeping your mind open towards the many versions of good music.
Glad the guys got you interested in Puscifer. Give Conditions of My Parole, The Humbling River, & Man Overboard (a personal fav) a listen :)
I highly recommend The Mission (feat Milla Jovovich), Holiday On The Moon and Queen B by Puscifer.
Good ones for sure. Another hidden gem is "World Up My Ass" , which I find myself humming more and more recently.
Check out the humbling river by Puscicer. There are some serious vibes in that one. A lesson to be learned for this country as well
man I couldn't help but keep smiling along with you guys feelin this song! I've always been hit & miss with Puscifer, this album is dope as all hell & been on repeat for me since it came out
Please review PET, by A Perfect Circle. A deep, harmonic song, one of Maynard's best.
Seconded
Yes, the original not the remixed version 👍
Yes I love that song
Pet is most fitting with the GW Bush Jr 9/11 fan videos.
My FAVORITE APC song.
The way Mr Keenan drops vocals adds another dimension to his tender voice, enveloping melodies and delicate lyrics. "A Singularity" is another amazing song from this album.
This song is incredible. The syncopation between the vocals, instruments, and time signature is unreal. One of my favorite songs.
Iowa=ayahuasca
Never heard this band before, but I loved this song. Appreciate the introduction.
They have alot of different sounds.. so you'll have to give them a look
Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis
Cult Of Luna - Nightwalkers
Elder - Blind
Sanctuary > blind!!
who?
Not gonna lie, as an Iowan, the title brought me in. We don’t get mentioned much.
I do like Tool though and after hearing this, apparently I like Puscifer too.
This song is not about Iowa
slipknot's and puscifer's are all the shout outs you'll get
Go read the actual lyrics, Iowan. Lmao.
Lol, I'm late (and also from iowa) but immediately knew it was about drugs 😂
Also, Humbling River is one of my faves from Puscifer.
PLEASE check out Tame Impala....... "Borderline," "Breathe Deeper," "New Person, Same Old Mistakes," Feels Like We Only Go Backwards," Let It Happen."
I support this suggestion.
Let it happen is a masterpiece.
This singer in this band is Raymond J. Keanan.
30 sec into the track and I was hooked on Puscifer.
Halfway through the video and I've had a realization. Tool is kind of like Picasso plus M.C. Escher depending on the song. Puscifer is like Salvador Dali.
This album is fantastic! Puscifer is a highly underrated band. Their last album was a masterpiece as well.
Im so happy there are people who recognized the pure talent and real music. Im addicted to this song since the first day
I was just saying about two hours ago this was the best song on the album, then saw this. Love the synchronicity. Awesome, guys! Thanks.
“fluidity” is the word that comes to mind every time I hear/ feel this song.
Highly recommend "A Singularity" and "UPGrade" from the same album.
My top two also! This is #3
@Jenahnanah Agree! Fell right in love with A Singularity and this on my first listen.
UPGRADE
Personal Promethius is fire too.
A Singularity made me ugly cry.
Thank you guys for doing this song!!!! Much love!!!!
Ryan when you listen to the song a couple of more times your feet tap and head starts to bob with the odd time signature. So you then actually start to groove with the song.
The song is mainly in 6/4 time. If you count 123456 starting on the first downbeat, it syncs up very well. But the snare hits are all over the place, which makes it very difficult to find the proper downbeat. Very sophisticated songwriting and Maynard and Corina's vocals add to the mystique. Great song! 🔥
That's what I like about Tom Sawyer
This Tune was definitely my favorite from the new album great choice for reacting guys!
PLEASE DO “CONDITIONS OF MY PAROLE” BY PUSCIFER!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh YES!
Yes
All of the yes. That song is awesome. Maynard explained that song started from a banjo and a mandolin lol
*The director's cut
Freaking hilarious! Ive seen it probably 50 times!"It's got to be the "Director's Cut" version though 🤣🤣🤣
So many amazing puscifer songs! Potions, the humbling river, mama sed, the undertaker, sour grapes, oceans, monsoons, dear brother, the underwelming 🙌🏼 and love this song!
I would love to see your reaction to "The Rapture" from their 2nd album "Conditions of my Parole"
Please!
Awesome lyrics!
A slow dirty nasty groove!
And Maynard's voice with Carina Round harmonizing!
Please people hit this with some likes so they can check it out!
Agreed, my favorite song by them!
If people do not get it this song is about taking an ayahuasca trip ...bullet train to iowa..ska soon going to be a while before I touchback down ..I highly recommend playing UpGrade first they go together ....all in all the whole albulm is great
Yep!!!!
"Momma Sed" has a groove you guys could get behind.
Also try legendary Canadian rockers, The Tragically Hip. Most any song would be good but a good place to start would be "blow at high dough", "new orleans is sinking" or "locked in the trunk of a car".
Seconded for Tragically Hip! Toma is a favorite of mine from Puscifer.
Heading off to the show in 6 days, Chicago JUL02, thanks for the encouragement and inspiration. Can't wait. Love UR channel.
Here's a bunch of songs you guys need to try:
• Opeth - Serenity Painted Death or Harlequin Forest
• Nevermore - Garden of Gray
• Death - Trapped in a Corner
• Gorguts - An Ocean of Wisdom
• Devin Townsend - Bastard
• Fates Warning - Monument
• Enslaved - Singular
• Cynic - Veil of Maya
• Atheist - Elements
• Vektor - LCD (Liquid Crystal Disease)
• Coroner - Son of Lilith
• Alice In Chains - Bleed the Freak or Sludge Factory
• Converge - The Saddest Day (!!!!!)
• Faith No More - The Real Thing
• Mastodon - Ghost of Karelia
Strange, I was just thinking about them maybe enjoying some Atheist. Unquestionable Presence maybe. But Elements has some groove to it, although sadly worse production.
Edit: What about Mineral? Awesome song, technical but groovy AF.
They did FNM 'the real thing' on Patreon.
@@Infinifry55 cool cool. Didn't know. Maybe they'll put it on the channel one day.
@@lenni-hazels love Mineral (and the entire album, might be my favorite of theirs), I was just throwing one out there. They need some jazzy tech death in their lives, also why I mentioned Cynic.
hell yes! you did this one on my Bday and I am just seeing it. I am a HUGE Tool fan and I love this whole cd. you guys are the best reaction, hands down. keep it up.
Still waiting on "Descending" by Tool. Its my favorite of their entire catalog
They've already stated they've both heard it numerous times off camera.
@@CMill78 if I remember right they said they heard it "in passing" would still like to see them dissect it
It’s actually on their Patreon channel.
@@adamheimer426 I'm on their patreon and I don't remember seeing it
Amen!!!!!!
Been meaning to get into Puscifer and as a Tool fan i see i have foolishly left them on the long finger. Cheers guys definitly going deep diving devilishly down the whole rabbit hole.
If you'd want something new/not often mentioned:
Rishloo - feathergun in the garden of the sun
Rishloo - dark charade
Rishloo - Winslow
Karnivool - New day
Karnivool - deadman
Porcupine tree - Deadwing
Lucid planet - Olm 053
Lucid Planet - Kairos
Coheed&Cambria - Welcome Home
Fink - Honesty
Zeal&Ardor - Devil is fine
Nightwish - Ghost Love story (live wacken)
I love every song from this list I've heard of (I haven't heard of 5 of them). I'll definitely have to check out the others, thanks for the suggestion
@@hahsteve you're welcome! To enrich others with great music is all I wanted ;)
Beautiful! I am obsessed with everything Maynard-music, good, wine!! Absolutely brilliant 🌀💫❤️I do hope you guys are exploring and experiencing all 3 bands he has and if you listen to the whole album beginning to end the ride is even better 💫
"Rev 22 20" or "Momma Sed" next!
The Rapture (Fear Is A Mind Killa Mix), Horizons or Conditions Of My Parole
The momma sed live version is incredible
Agreed 1000% both of these are a wonderful intro to Puscifer! Good call (live version of Momma Sed for sure, but needs to be the version off the "V is for Viagra" album)
This is by far the best reaction video I've ever seen💚
I can see dudes getting lost in every single detail of this song🤟🏻
Love it
“Simultaneous” and “Indigo children” are also good songs from Puscifer
Simultaneous is one of the most outrageous song composition I've ever came across. Its incredible. The build up. The lyrics. The music. One of the best songs ever written.
Soooo happy you guys dig my favorite track. This album is a challenging gem.
Please react to Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize, it's a long one but definitely worth it
Also you need to check out Leprous, it's right up your alley, I recommend The Price or Rewind
Enjoyable reaction as per usual! And thanks for calling my attention to a new Puscifer release!
Apocalyptical & the Underwhelming & Bedlamite are great ones from the album
Awesome video, so glad you guys liked it. I was iffy about Apocalyptical at first also but I grew to realize it's one of the best tracks on the album and maybe from the band in general. Keep it up!
Oh dear George, you called Puscifer Tool for a moment there 8:31 Something tells me Tool fans ain't gonna like that.
Also I just heard Maynard singing Bullet train to Io (aya)huasca.
Iowa is absolutely short for Ayahuasca on this song.
I cringed hard when I heard that
We know what he meant. All Maynards endeavors
Your CHANNEL has turned me on to some great songs, like this one. THANK YOU.
A mind boggling experience for you guys: "Advaitic Songs" from Om. Trust me.
Bullet train to Iowa is a song about getting high, Maynard is an educated man, he is talking about getting high with the drug called Ayahuasca, a drug used in South America.
Nailed it! Question.. did A Perfect Circle rename themselves Puscifer?
@ethanrom22 . No, just a different band with different musicians.
@@enriquecordero6271 but why did Maynard form another solo band when he had A Perfect Circle?
I think you just explained Puscifer better than anyone I've ever heard.
You guys are awesome!! My wife and I sat two rows behind you at the tool concert last January… wanted to say hi but too many folks around you.
Also,, I build bad ass custom homes… So when you guys are ready give me a shout!!
Wow! I was just listening to the album myself!
Since "Money Shot" MJK has obviously finished and released the Tool album and another A Perfect Circle album... man never rests! And It's all insanely good/borderline genius! Legend!!
btw I absolutely hated Apocalyptical and thought it was trash when I heard it (by far Maynard's worst ever release) but now that I've listened to the album a couple of times and it's "under my skin" and I have gone on the full journey... I now love Apocalyptical too. It makes sense on the grander scheme of things on an album platform.
Apocalyptical is an earworm
@@coolhandchunk Yes!
Apocalyptical grew on me too! Really disliked it at first.... Not even sure why I came to like it.
@@lisasullivan2428 Haha that's funny. I guess it just grows on you... especially when you hear it on the album sandwiched between the rest of the songs.
Did you like the rest of the album?
Thanks guys! Who knows how long it coulda took for me to listen to this on my own. You guys are cool.
Puscifer just keeps getting better.
Rev 22:20 &the Undertaker (Renholder Mix) are 2 you should do from their 1st EP
That’s awesome you guys did this song , it’s been my jam since this dropped.
DO A MARNARD MARATHON!!!! APC, TOOL and Puscifer!!!
Puscifer - Momma Sed
LIVE!!
Hahaha lol, maynard has such a crazy sense of humor... Specially when he used the word myceleum, as in mushroom mycelium (the network of webs that mushrooms form from and the fact that the song is about psychedelics. Bullet train to ayahuasca land 😆
You are right about the rest of the album unfortunately but it has some good tracks.
Conditions for my Parole is their masterpiece album IMO
Hi guys! First off, @Lost In Vegas, imho your channel is EXACTLY what RUclips is supposed to be about! Open ears and open minds, and VERY entertaining to boot! I've had such a great time watching you guys light up to songs that I've held close to my heart for so many years. Totally refreshing to hear other music lovers such as yourselves give their own take on music others among us have maybe started to take for granted. I would be really, really interested to hear/watch you check out a song called "The Charm Offensive" off of the album "Everyone Into Position" by a band called Oceansize. In a similar way to Puscifer, this song takes you on a very interesting musical/textural "journey" across the course of about 7 and a half minutes. Seeing them perform it live was a quasi-religious experience! lol. Sadly they're no more, but thankfully their albums and songs live on! :) Keep up the good work @Lost In Vegas, you guys are the best. Big props from London, UK.
This song sounds so Cure influenced.....
And that's a great thing.....
I thought the exact same thing.
I never thought you would be ahead of me in Maynard's projects, I completely missed the new Puscifer released, BUT thanks to YOU guys, I'm about to discover the album and I'm starting with this, instead of the track 1. Just because of you... I'm at 1:58 and I already laughed twice. This is exiting!! You are stars in our sky guys! Thank you!!
Iowa=Ayahuasca I’d imagine this song is about one of his spiritual journeys on the drug
I just commented on that. I thought I heard that play on words. First listen so I will delve deeper but it is cool.
@@MrDuanepalmer it’s pretty obvious once you listen to the lyrics a few times. Enjoy!!
Yep!!!
Never heard of this but I like it. Wouldn't have even known about it if it weren't for you guys playing it so thank you!
Pantera - Cemetery Gates
This is their best, most epic song
Ive been listening to this for over a week ..it's brilliant
The word I use for Maynard.. best.
Took me 3 years to see this, but DAMN! The smile on Ryan's face before the first break.... I can't wait to hear what he says.
Puscifer- Potions, is really good.
So, so good. So glad they released it finally as its one of the songs maynard and trent reznor worked on together for the unfortunately doomed tapeworm project with Danny Lohner as well
My personal favorite
13:07 Your face, man. Priceless. You're genuine reaction said it all. Beautiful.
There's a pun punchline to this track that the boys missed... Iowa-ska...
.....Ayahuasca.... get it?
Not enough people hear this! The whole track is about taking an Ayahuasca trip. Surprised more people don’t pick up on that
Bingo.....
The song is literally about a DMT trip
I had that feeling..but I wasn't sure if it was just me or is he in fact talking about taking a "trip" with Ayahuasca. The first time I heard the song I actually thought he was saying Ayahuasca, then I looking at the lyrics and he said.."Iowa-ska." .... "Hello sky"...oh my..oh well bye bye...after you take any hallucinagen there is no going back!!! Thanks for acknowledging 🏴☠️🤯.
@@lauramoyer5721 come on. Does he need to spell it out for you for real. Have you ever had a dmt trip? Of course, for "legal reasons" they would change the spelling. Literally why Iowa is in the title.
This song just keeps chugging forward like a train. The groove is always almost there. You can nod your head, but not in a full motion
SOAD - Protect the land is A MUST, guys. Please, react to that song and especially the video.
Here ya' go Ryan. It's like listening to someone speaking a beautiful language that you personally don't speak.
Conditions of my parole, horizons, green valley, humbling river are a must
Horizons and green valley go hard! Love all 3 of Maynard’s bands!
Y’all always entertain me. Don’t stop til’ you get enough.
Why not more A perfect circle?
It’s a play on words. It’s about ayahuasca and describes a trip. The lyrics describe a bullet train to “Iowaska”. Genius song.
Yay!!!!
I don't understand how this guys didn't get in to Nine Inch Nails yet.
Yeah, I know they did Closer but there are better songs for them to check.
Probably because IMO, NIN are just not a good reaction band.
I respect them for their contribution to music but their music is slow burning, cold, mechanical, and doesn't have the simple 4/4 grooves that specifically Ryan likes. Plus their music can be depressing, something these guys have clearly stated they dislike.
@@ryukan250 Good point. I agree with you.
Especially Year Zero with the current climate... they should do “The Good Soldier”
I really liked this...not one I would have probably heard without this reaction video
Thanks
You guys should really listen to puscifer - Rev 22:20. Even more of a vampire song than forty six and two!
Try G.O.A.T. by Polyphia
the live version with Karina, though
Love the way you guys put it to words
I love how the music in this song evokes a locomotive chugging down the tracks.
And yeah, Apocalyptical is the weakest on this album, IMO. UPGrade and Bedlamite are amazing.
Bedlamite is amazing
You guys made me enjoy this song even more than I have so far since the release of this awesome album--thank you, and maybe do either Personal Prometheus or Bedlamite from this album!
When's the next Tool reaction tho?
Puscifer's online concert at the end of October was AMAZING! Maynard & Carina's voices are so melodic together... 🖤🖤🖤
You guys skipped right over the lyrics; maybe the best part.
Right?!
Pretty genius use of the word "ayahuasca"
