  • In real life Gladys Aylward served as foot inspector for the Government of the Republic of China by touring the countryside to enforce the new law against footbinding young Chinese girls. She had much success in a field that had produced much resistance, including sometimes violence against the inspectors.
    I love this movie! I highly recommend seeing the whole movie.

      You're welcome! It has received some flack for some of the actors not being Chinese. But I absolutely love this movie!
