- Join our family as we embark on an unforgettable adventure in Mexico City! In this week-long journey, we explore the rich culture, history, and flavors of this vibrant metropolis and discover if it's safe here for families or if the warnings we've received up to this point are from well-intentioned but ill-informed people.
Our first stop is the iconic Palacio de Bellas Artes, a breathtaking palace showcasing the beauty of Mexican art and architecture.
We then head to the majestic Castillo de Chapultepec, a hilltop castle with panoramic views of the city and fascinating exhibitions that delve into Mexico's past. Right next door, we venture into the Chapultepec Zoo, where we encounter a diverse array of animals and learn about their conservation efforts. We got to see their Giant Panda, something Nicole has always wanted to do.
Our journey continues to Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its colorful trajineras (traditional boats). We hop on board at the Embarcadero Nativitas (others seemed to be a tourist trap) and cruise along the ancient canals, soaking in the lively atmosphere and admiring the floating gardens. We indulge in roasted corn, a popular street food, but it didn't quite live up to expectations.
We returned to the Zocalo before turning in for the night to witness the mesmerizing performance of Mayan dancers, showcasing their vibrant traditions.
Next, at Mercado San Juan, we immerse ourselves in the bustling market scene. We step outside our comfort zone and try eating a scorpion - a daring culinary experience you won't want to miss!
Speaking of food, I got to satisfy my desire of trying new foods at Le Casa del Chicharrón, a beloved eatery known for its mouthwatering pork cracklings. For dinner, I got to try tostados from Pasteleria Madrid.
Our accommodations for the week are at CDMX Rentals, offering stunning views of the city's historic center. On our last day we finally make a visit to the awe-inspiring La Catedral Metropolitana, an architectural masterpiece that showcases Mexico's rich religious heritage.
We hope you enjoy the video! Join us on this incredible journey as we explore the best of Mexico City, from its cultural landmarks to its mouthwatering cuisine. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe to our channel to follow along with our travel adventures!

the Chapultepec castle was also the Viceroy summer palace in 18th century and was the castle of King Maximilian I of Habsburg in 1860s
The castle was amazing.

Que tal, los elotes deben pedirlos hervidos y son muy suaves.
Los otros son asados y son muy duros.
Disfruten su estancia en cdmx. Saludos
Ah, that makes sense 👍 We were recommended the roasted corn but prefer the boiled corn. Thanks for watching 🙏

Wow ! That's a bit like Hong Kong ! Eating on boats & vendors come around & cook meals / serve ! I didn't know they did that there in Mexico !
I'm learning a lot about Mexico lately via RUclips ! Lol. Too bad that only negative news make the headlines & we really don't know so many beautiful places in Mexico that are safe to visit !! Thanks to RUclips & RUclipsrs for that we can see & learn !! How about their water issues ? Where is safe to drink water & eat fruits etc in Mexico 🇲🇽 ?
Did you ever feel unsafe in Mexico ?
Walkable streets are very good to know ,too ! Some people are disabled or having walking issues . Or in wheelchairs, my mom is also,so it's much better to know of the walkabilities before visiting .
Mexico is now No.12 on economic growth ranks in the world !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🎄🎁🇲🇽💕💞
It was the first country we lived in to start off our travels. We loved it!
We stayed mostly in the Yucatan area then the last week in Mexico City. Wish we spent more time there after experiencing it.
In some places it is not safe to drink tap water. But bottled water is available.
I can only speak to our experience, but there wasn't a moment we felt unsafe.
Thanks for watching 🙏
New subscriber to your channel ❤🎉 Welcome to Mexico 🇲🇽; my beautiful Mexico 🤩 blessings family enjoy my country and its culture and food a lot... greetings from Minnesota 🇺🇸
Thank you for the warm greeting 😊 Thanks for watching 🙏
I want to visit Mexico city but as far as the tourist spots from what i heard from other Mexicans that live there is that it has gotten way too comercial and expensive. I already had a disappointing experience in cancun and the tourist traps that’s why I’ve chosen to visit smaller places like Leon Guanajuato this end of the year, its just a 3 hour car ride from where i live in jalisco.Great video what caught my attention is you folks traveling with the kids since we have a 4 year old and trips mostly revolve around him I’m always looking for things for him to enjoy.
I think often times smaller cities can be better. Mexico City was amazing though, we barely scratched the surface. There's so much to see and do!
Thank you for watching 🙏
I love your videos, specially with your kids and trying everything, enjoyed the city. Try the food in the mercados, is the best food.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍 Thank you for watching 🙏
It's sad that people try to take advantage of tourists, but it happens everywhere. I'm not trying to justify it but is something that in a lot of countries happens. A taxy driver in NY city instead of taking me in a straight line from point A to point B took me all over town to charge more the moment he realized I was a tourist and the same happened to me in Madrid some time ago.
BTW roasted corn is a different kind of corn and that's the way it tastes. And yes food is pricey depending on where you are. Have you ever bought a 12 dollar insipid burger in Disneyland?
Sorry if you feel cheated but sometimes it happens when you're a tourist. I just hopped that you and your family enjoyed the Mexican experience and hospitality. Greetings from Tijuana, México.
You are right. It's part of the adventure 👍
We did enjoy our time in Mexico.
Greetings and thank you for watching 🙏
Congratulations keep going.. prayers for me as u go through chemo.
Sorry to hear you are going through that Ms Donna. Stay strong! 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
Very beautiful
Glad you enjoyed 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
Hermoso mi México ❤❤❤❤❤❤
We love Mexico ❤️ Thanks for watching 🙏
the corn is hard cuz is roosted, the ones are boiler are soft
It was a first for us. Prefer the boiled corn 🌽 Thanks for watching 🙏
Wonderful 😊 why country are you going next? Germany is awesome for family and children..
We're in Europe now. Germany, Poland, and Georgia are where we'll be staying before we head to Bali 👍🏻
Hi family I'm Mexican I live mexico and usa, guys it's a pleasure when you guys vicit mexico but something that is not nice from foreigners that vicit our country tha complain to much on the prices you guys want things for free,
That is something I don't like from you all.
Even when you thing that something is expensive nothing to compare Mexico prices to usa prices you Don complain in your country why you do that here in Mexico. We as Mexicans aren't Less the people from usa
If you notice a good treatment from the Mexican people is because we have the mentality intelligent and the education to know that there's no people more or less We are all the same we live the poor and the rich we love the black end the white PEOPLE
Keep that in mind and remember always you are not more or less
Me as a human We are all the same and everyone should be treated welcoming respected and loved the same in a good and educational way.
Greetings family and welcome to Mexico.
I was born in michoacan mexico I grew up in los angeles but living in tijuana now and yes cross the border every single day for work in San Diego.
Thank you for your perspective. We appreciate the welcome and loved Mexico. We will be back some day.
It's not that we want things for free 👍
Thanks for watching 🙏
Can someone please tell me why is it dangerous taking a taxi in Mexico?
I've read sometimes they try to take advantage. We used ride-sharing mostly or took public transit. It can get crowded but we experienced no issues 👍
Thanks for watching 🙏
This type of corn is eaten like this, not cooked, some Mexicans prefer it raw "tatemado", and with a lot of chile. You can also buy it cooked on a stick, I prefer that, or in un a cup.
try to have another kid please 🥺🤩
🥰 thank you
Wow you guys are really brave, not because Mexico City is dangerous, because actually it’s very safe, but because it’s very difficult to move from one place to another and use public transportation in an unknown place
We try to use public transport when possible. It's not always easy to figure out 🤣 But it gives us a feel of the culture and learn in ways we couldn't otherwise.
Thanks for watching 🙏
I'm Mexican and makes me very sad that some people are sacamed and some people are cheated.... Always hire a guide.
Good advice. We've learned to try to research more before doing something to know what to expect. It's all part of the adventure though 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
It is embarrassing to see that there are so many abusers who take advantage of tourists. I hope that you find decent people during your stay, there are always more of them.
We really enjoyed our time in Mexico City 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
Yummy food
Our, corn tastes diferent, cuzz it's not full of chemicals and transgenic shit 😏😂😂 it's not our problem, the u never tried something like that in your whole life ! 😅😂😅😂
True! 😂
Dude you ARE a tourist, what did you expect about prices of things getting for you guys even fore as a Mexican that is Not from there it would the same as for you!!
Yes, we're tourists. But there is a difference in charging more to a tourist and trying to rip them off. Wouldn't you agree?
Thanks for watching 🙏
Another dad here. Welcome to always eating your kids’ leftovers , I still do it and my boys are almost teenagers!
Latin culture is all about bartering. It s part of your cultural experience.
I know it can get annoying but think of it as a challenge to save yourself some $$
Hahaha. Every. Single. Day. 🤣 Thanks for watching 🙏
Videos are good but your translations on historic sites are off and what’s with the constant complaining about everything. We don’t take that typical American attitude lightly her in the country. Respect us and we respect you back.
Thanks for the feedback 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
They were honest, I’m Mexican and I’m not offended, take it easy dude!!!!
Thanks 👍 We try to keep it real and just share our authentic experiences.
Some people only like to see curated experiences that always have a positive outcome, but I've found that's just not real life. Although we still try to embrace what comes our way and make the best of it.
Thanks for watching 🙏
@@alexleon5139nobody said offended, but calling Chapultepec "grasshopper hill" is so dumb. It's pretty clear he knows the correct name, so what is the purpose? Grasshopper hill lmao
@@Square-ow7oq ese es el nombre, cerro del chapulin, proviene de las palabras chapulli, que significa saltamontes, y la palabra tepetl que significa cerro,
