Ruby is great, but hope she has more development in the next series

Yes. She and 15 for that matter. Heck for only have 8 (9 counting the special) with them together, we've spent far too many episodes with one incapacitated, unexisted, or them both ignored/separated. It's literally half the season. One of my biggest frustrations with the season is after waiting so long, I barely got to spend any time with the Doctor. Hopefully season 2 massively improves on that.
@vullord666 because there's a bigger picture most everyone missed. Rtd literally gave people a nudge. There's context, similarities, 4th wall breaks and outright coincidences laced through series 14 and it told you as such.

Watch past episodes and think of season 14. Maybe, if you keep and open mind, you'll see it.

@@Leylaashley Well that was a whole lot of nothing lol. The argument is that this series didn't have enough character moments between them. They never argued or became closer friends, they just stayed in this liminal "best pal" space and then the script would randomly act like they were the most conjoined beings in the universe. Ruby never gave the doctor any lip for dying, being put through an alternate timeline. She also never had a bonding moment with the doctor. It was just shallow "that's my mate" vibes. Even Chibnall had the fam sometimes bashing heads
@tomimpala because I cannot explain it to someone who hasn't been down this rabbit hole or refuses to even partake. But there's something bigger happening ans you have to find connections from season 14 into older episodes. All of 12s Christmas specials have connections to season 14 start there

The name of Rubys dad is William and the name of the prime minister in 2046 is Roger ap Gwilliam which means Roger son of William. Maybe he will be revealed as Rubys half brother or something like that in season 2

Bill was brought back and in a short, it's confirmed she returned to the University.
And it's also confirmed that thanks to Nardole, the Cybermen slowed down until they were wiped, so he went on to have 3 wives and multiple kids, and still lives.

And I mentioned season 1, because it was meant to start in January, so, following that, they might start a week after this year's Christmas special.

8 eps was pathetic. We used to get 13 good eps then went down to 10 now 8 . By series 20 we will be down to 3 eps

Dude, the standard these days is 8, for a lot of things.
It's a shame. I'm guessing it's Disney+ standard and dr who isn't a strong enough brand yet to do 10-13. Maybe if it was coming off the back of 2009, it would be different.

And soon after series 14 started and ended before we could say I don’t want to go 🙈. 8 episodes was pathetic. U can’t create character development in just that . If it was 8 episodes in the future we need them to be double the length . 44 to 55 mins to rushed and pathetic.

Russell barely developed Ruby at all in season 1, she had these big moments but they felt superficial, she needs her defining moment
Oh yeah, I'm sure going from crying because she can't find her mom, to standing up to a literal god who ended 99.9% of the universe isn't much development. Lol
Can’t trust a word he says anymore
Why, he's doing what he's always done, led things to the next season.
This last season lacked something in the story telling. It didn't ow or aha me like previous seasons or have the manic energy we love from an rousing bit of doctor who dialogue or acting. The acting or script was a bit cringe and didn't have any depth. Like show the doctor angry so lets make him scream in a vary staged way. I am sorry but there was some bits that I got second hand embarrassment. It was a bit of both the lazy way they where trying to show emotion on screen and how they filmed the bit.
There was times where how they filmed it and the angles they used just didn't work. So who's fault was it? The director, producer, actors, or the poor editors who cobbled what they could together. It just didn't mesh. It makes me wonder if there is issues behind the camera. But even the writing had bits in it that felt forced and not natural. Was it the writing or was it the actors not able to deliver the lines .
I am just confused by this last season it just didn't mesh. We also might just need better music.

I actually agree with the Disney comment, although I’m not saying anyone needs to be fired. But I did see moments in every episode that felt very Disney. It didn’t color the entire episode or take over large blocks of time.
It’s a tonal shift, sometimes it’s a golly gee whiz megawatt smile moment of sunshine and rainbows that seems shoehorned in unnaturally where it doesn’t fit, sometimes it’s just a look. It could be just for a beat or a line or two. It’s hard to describe. Maybe you have to have seen a lot of Disney movies to be familiar enough with it to spot it. But I can really see the Disney influence in the new episodes.
