Personally, I think we really need madders vs Liverpool. Lolo I'm the 6 with biss in the 8 and madders gives attacking flair and good possession and control both with and without the ball
Great video. It’s tough to see anything higher than 8th at the moment. Need a cup this season. Hopefully the boys get and stay healthy the rest of the year. Great to see Bergvall improving game by game and Archie is class. The future is there but we need reinforcements asap.
Injuries have killed our hopes of UCL next year, I still think we can hit 6th and maybe squeak 5th if we’re very lucky with injuries. I don’t have much hope on that front.
Interesting that you did not mention the ref failing to give a penalty to Newcastle for fouling Gordon? No contact on the ball, broke his nose - stonewall penalty.
I really like Spence now. He is calm, strong and one of the first I would pick for the team. Kulu cannot hold on to the ball and when he loses it we often seem to get torn apart on a counter. Maybe he should play somewhere other than the middle of the pitch? He might be a good defender. It was so refreshing to see a Spurs keeper confident with crosses. That is what any team needs. I am very confident for next season. We will have better players, less games and maybe even normal luck in ref /VAR decisions. This season now is about trying to go on a cup run and the odd brilliant performance to surprise everybody, again.
Hi Ben, great work thanks as a new subscriber (found you via the Lab). I cant play your videos, all i get are a combination of still images. Playing via You Tube on PC. Any idea why not moving videos?
Some players have really stood up and taken their opportunity like Bergvall Spence Gray Reguilon Austin which is great for depth and future. I don’t agree another manager wouldn’t have this squad in a better position. Better tactics, adaptability, care of hamstring stress, bring players back early, letting players out on loan, rotating. Buck stops with the manager they take gambles sometimes it doesn’t pay off. But they aren’t blameless.
From my neutral point of view, the Joelinton hand ball doesn't seem so awful. If you look at the full context, Newcastle were pressing Spurs high. That led to a poor pass to Bergvall, who barely managed to reach the ball, much less control his own pass. Meaning Newcastle had won an advantage, their press was paying off. For the ref to then turn it around just because Bergvall luckily happened to hit Joelinton's arm doesn't seem very fair either. In theory any team under difficult press could then get out of it by hitting an opponent's arm with the ball. This is of course unless Joelinton deliberately thwarted the ball with his arm, but I don't think anyone is arguing that? The ref may have had a poor game - I know Newcastle fans weren't happy with him either, which tells us something - but the 1-1 decision wasn't wrong in my opinion. Not, as you say, with the rules being what they are.
Isn’t Madders banned for mid-week cup game? If so, probably wanted to keep Bergvall fresh (although will probably go for Biss/Lolo double pivot with Kulu as 10)
Hey Ben, curious on your thoughts about Kulu lately. He seems to be holding the ball too long or trying to do too much and is turning it over regularly. I was thinking he needs maybe a game off to recoup?
I think his tank is just a bit depleted, he star6s his burst, runs out of juice, then gets caught between a cross or shot and gets somewhere in the middle. Lot of football for him and he was emmence for 6 games in a row, just a bit nackered I think
3:14 = Can you tell me what part of the PALM of Joelinton's hand the ball hit? No you can't so please watch the replay. By saying is hit his palm you are implying it was deliberate! The ball strikes the back of his left hand which was by his side NOT his palm.
@shdanko for me as a Newcastle fan, the most annoying thing about the Gordon Kulu collision is that later in the game, Botman was booked for Maddison running into him. They are either both fouls or neither are. As per its the inconsistencies within the officiating that feel worse than the fouls
Ange is insane. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expects a different result. I have given up on the season. The lunatics are running the asylum
@pkpjn2000 Any manager that has worked in the premiership could do it better. Most managers would tweak their formation and style of play to counter the other team. But not Ange. Its who we are mate..
Shouldn't Solanke's premeditated attack and knee on Dubravka be a minimum of a yellow card? Shouldn't the breaking of Gordon's nose by Kulusevski, who didn't even try to react by hitting with an unnaturally stiff shoulder, be a yellow card and a penalty kick?
Nothing was "premeditated". He went for the ball and had his leg high. It probably should be a yellow, but it's not some flagrant attack on an Dubravka. What is an "unnaturally stiff shoulder"? Did Kulusevski get some kind of metal shoulder implant put in? Gordon turned into his shoulder and he was trying to make himself narrow to avoid the contact so his shoulders raised. It was an unfortunate coming together, but Gordon is the one who caused the contact.
The thing is , that nobody is talking about, we haven’t conceded a single goal with Spence and Archie as our CB pairing.
It’s time to rest the dragon.
😅
Sadly Dragusin has been abysmal
Bergvall did fantastic 🎉🎉
Bissouma was really good when he came on so I am confident in him and Lolo for Liverpool. Kulusevski will play in the 10.
I hope so too. That'd be a solid middle 3. Son left, Solanke up top, Johnson right. It'd be a reasonable set up, though not many other choices!

From a Toon fan this kid is a top player.
Reguilon was very good. Why has he been banished?
If we going to finish mid table we should put everything into Europa , win that and we back in Champions league and finally end the drought aswell
New subscriber ere 🎉
Some positive reaction ,still to turn the corner If the fans want Angeball ,going to have to start wanting more.

how about you treat it like it wasnt a handball and it hit him on the knee and ask questions of your defence? victim mentality from spurs is shocking

Biss and Son should not be in the team.
I know Biss did ok for 30 mins against Newcastle but he’s been terrible all season.

We got away with the Kulu foul on Gordon. Clear penalty
Mmm not sure I agree he turns straight in to Kulu’s shoulder
