One you adjust the contacts with the supplied feeler gauge and get use to the touch, the paddles won't slid around. My Bencher paddles use to have a very wide gap, since I really did not understand how to adjust the paddles properly. One I got the Begali paddles like you have and I adjusted them using the feeler gauge, no more sliding of the paddles on my desk top. I have since adjusted my Bencher paddles the same way and again, no more sliding of the paddles. I liked my Begali Traveler Light paddles so much, I purchased a second pair and use them for portable operations. Barry, KU3X
With mineI bought a no slip mat from amazon. It is the type of mat you lay on your dashboard to keep you keys and glasses from sliding around. It was like 7-8 dollars. It is like 5’”x 9”, I ended up cutting it in half. The aluminum paddles come out of Texas, it gives the key a better feel.
Complimenti! You bought the KEYER! I have the Leonessa keyer made by Begali. BTW, should you ever need a replacement part, you can count on them. Mr. Begali and his daughter are super duper!
You are going to love those paddles. I have two sets of them. One set for portable operating and one set in the shack. Do youself a favor and set the contacts with the feeler gauge that came with the paddles. Once I did that and got use to the feel, I set all of my paddles with the feeler gauge, including my Bencher paddles. The one plastic paddle broke on mine, I think it was cracked from new and it just took time before it fell apart. It's and easy job to replace a broke paddle. KU3X
I have been looking at them online but I thought they were lightweight plastic by the looks of them. I think I will order one now that I know it isnt the cheap plastic that everyone else is selling.
An idea why not put suction cups on the bottom when you push down on the body of the key, teh weight will expel the air between the bottom of the cups and the serface thus, attaching the key to what ever it is on?
Hi. I have the same key, also in blue, since a few weeks ago, mine S.N: 916. It is very good, I am very happy with this key. enjoy it! EA1IYI 73 from Spain!
Yes, I recommend this for sure. I made my first QSO with it this last weekend. It's a dream. Just barely touch it. I have a video being uploaded right now, it should be ready within 2 hours of me using this on the road. Stay tuned!
I have that paddle as well and I did upgrade the paddle tabs to metal and it is actually very easy to do. Its a great key! Have fun with it! 73 de K0EAP
What do you think about using that keyer for both the home ham-shack and portable? (I'm fine if its a little heavy for portable). Just wondering about the plausibility of using it as "the one iambic that does it all:-)" Maybe you need more time on it to answer?
My gut says, sure why not use it for both it can be done. However, for a home base station I think I'd want one that's even heavier. Since this is "my thing" I have no doubt next year I'll buy another paddle from him. A desk paddle. I collect these things like works of art. If you want to save money, then yes it will work for both. If you want to be a collector like me, then you'll need more of them.

I've got the cheapest Begali they sell. It's like jewelry. I love using it! So cool you got to meet the man himself.
Jewelry is a good investment.
I have a Begali Spark straight key and it is awesome. This video is pushing me to pick out one of his paddles! Begali is the best!
ik04 I hear you. This isn't my last

Luciano Gasparini hi! Newcomer here. Why do you call it "keyer" instead of "key"? Thanks for your reply!

I thought travel paddles were supposed to be small. That thing is HUGE. No way that would go on a SOTA op with me. LOL
Yeah, it's not really a traveler is it. It's heavy too.
I think the adventurer would be a better choice for SOTA and POTA
I would think that you would want a very light touch so that just thinking about the letter would trigger it. W4SEX
nice new piece of kit
Try setting it on a mouse pad or some such material. Should keep it from moving.
Yes, and the reality is, I discovered, that it's so sensitive that one need not wack it. This thing will tap at the slightest touch.
A sure sign of a quality product.
That one very cool Key Tom.....
Yeah, man it's a work of art. I bought directly from Begali himself.
It's a beauty!
It seems very nice. I intend to buy one like that, but I don't know where to find it here in PY...

Do internet Search for Begali Paddles and he has a web site.
I bought mine online from the Begali website. You can get your callsign printed on it for a tiny bit more! Mine is personalized and I love it...
