This is definitely one of the best advice videos i’ve seen on this topic! Do you find it difficult at all to find wholesalers or vendors that you know are sustainably/ethically sourced?
I’m so glad you liked it! 😊 it can be kind of difficult especially since sometimes the wholesalers themselves aren’t even sure where their crystals come from, but I only ever order from a few suppliers who I can trust and know about their sources. Always doing my best to stay researched on how to source as ethically as possible and to avoid areas and mines that aren’t!

I do have one question though - China wholesalers...I am prioritising ethically sourced crystals and am unsure that anyone in China would be able to guarantee this? How do you tackle that? x

At the very beginning I started ordering around a couple hundred dollars worth of crystals, like $300 or so! When ordering in bulk you can get a pretty good inventory started with that depending on what kind of crystals you get! 😊

Any information on how to and when to get a business license?
You don't owe them anything. It's rude for that person/those people to ask who your suppliers are. As you said, you put time and effort to find your suppliers, they just can't demand for you to cough up any supplier name 😤, selfish people. Thanks for this vid by the way. I'm new in the business by the way but before that I've been buying from Chinese suppliers so it was easy for me to find trustworthy suppliers making my transition from collector to business owner easier.
Can you go a little more in depth on the pricing aspect? The cost I pay wholesale fluctuates so how would I keep the selling cost in the same ballpark

I started on Twitter, but before I had my crystal business I was just selling my art! Back when I started in around 2018, there was such an amazing art/ small business community there that I was able to grow quite a good following for my business on. So when I started selling crystals I already had a bit of a built in following! There’s still a great small business community there but it feels a little more saturated now and harder to grow. It definitely helped my crystal shop that I had that existing following!

Hi, Emilie. 🙂 New subscriber!💜 I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this video and all of the information you gave. I love that you are a gemologist and would appreciate any advice you have on going to school for that since it is something I'm interested in doing. I have a degree in psychology and just graduated from Certified Crystal Practitioner school, but I am really interested in the specific scientific properties of each stone. I helped our little girl start her own crystal related business last summer (she was 11 at the time), and we were doing everything without purchasing wholesale. She learned to do macrame bracelets and would intuitively select which crystals people would get for their bracelets, or they could choose for themselves. We didn't do an official LLC yet, but we did start to design a Shopify page, so I need to get something lined up for her to take payments online. Previously, we were only accepting cash, check, or money orders, so that really impeded her ability to sell online. She's done really well in sales so far, so I feel like she is ready for the next step. Thank you again for taking the same to share your journey.✨

It’s the rollo label printer! It doesn’t use any ink, it’s a thermal printer 😊 unfortunately it only does like labels not color or anything haha
