This is such a truly lovely, simple "hamely" version of this... is so personal and intimate. Thank you VERY much for posting this. I am reposting it to Facebook. I have been traveling to Scotland since I was 23, in 1981. The Borders of Scotland are one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in the world -- and I keep, keep, keep returning.
My great grandfather came to America over 250 years ago from Scotland as an indentured servant. Surname, Tennant. This song means so much to me, no words can express. Finding it is a God thing for sure. Peace, thank you, blessings. Also, the majority of Tennant's are musicians. My great grandfather was a drummer even before, and during, the Revolutionary War here in America. 😀
I have no idea if you're still making music or not, but this song (and others on your Burns album) have brought me a great deal of happiness over the last couple years.
I’ve probably commented on this video before but that doesn’t matter - here’s another one. This is a stunningly beautiful and brilliantly-played version of this. Burns himself would be proud, I’m sure. This Alloway boy salutes you ❤
I've commented before, but this version just is so beautiful. My favorite ever and I am a Scottish traditional music fanatic. I wish you would do more classics! This is upbeat and poignant at the same time. Don't know how you managed it!

Brilliant! All the best for your Burns night, I’m sure you’ll be great. (I hadn’t actually questioned the comment at all, but makes sense now you point it out ha)
There is also a poetic rhyming translation of this song in Russian. The general meaning and essence of the verse in the translation is very accurately preserved.
Merci Ryan, excellente interprétation. Merci Robert Burns ! Bon anniversaire. If they could have met, they should have been friends.
Francette Vigneron wonderfull clear version of this song ..my uncle read this at my dads funeral..he loved burns ..loved the fact he was for the common working man ..wd are equals one and all..
@@ryanburnsmusic as much as they are both very different, yours and Paulo Natinis versions are my favourites, even including the old Jocks who've been singing it for years. Take care, and I hope lockdown is treating you kindly.
PS. My great grandfather was from Glasgow, Scotland. 😀. Your singing sounds better with your natural accent. Give a full album a try in your Scot accent. Also, you know Eminem is Scottish, right? Wow. You are great. Thanks again. Best wishes from Cleveland Ohio USA. 😀
I don't really agree with you ,for you give your accent up to tell another tale. Like Burns. I wish some people would give up there accent and then you would know what is behind there.
American by birth. Scottish by heritage... and proud of it. God bless for this rendition.
you are always welcome in Scotland pal
Please support Scottish self determination
Same brother same
Me too. 👍 And yes, God bless for this rendition.

The dignity of humankind shines through with the words of Burns and the melodic beauty of this beautiful rendition.
It blows the mind to realize this song is from the late 1700’s. Well done.
I can listen to you all day! Definitely looking for more!
That was lovely.
This is the best version of this song that I have heard.

You must be awfie long living in your family if your great grandad was alive over 250 years ago.
A prayer, a song, a hope for us all now. Hear these words.
Beautiful version of this beloved Burns anthem: we need it now more than ever.
Thank you

Superb! A most worthy rendition and tribute. And a beautiful instrument as well.
this is an amazing version!

Scotland has nothing to do with Russia. Our country is democracy based. Yours is disgraceful.
I am learning this version in school and I don't want to sing along because I want to hear you
Lovely thanks Doric is not around now my family speak some now but we are losing it ❤
Like it a lot, beautiful singing🙂

Well sung man!
Well done, Bryan!
Ryan!
Happy Burns Night.
Beautiful. But I'd love you to have shared it a little more personally with a look or two at us.
Thank you, I’ve got a bad habit of closing my eyes and looking away when performing, it’s a nerves thing I think. Glad you enjoyed the video though

Apl 17, 2024.
So, what does "Mauna Fa" mean, anyway? I've been wondering for years.
I want my daughter to walkdown the aisle to this. Unfortunately she's such a strong minded socialist she won't listen to me!
What brand of guitar do you use? TAYLOR GS MINI MAH?
A Burns song should always be sung with a Scottish accent. And no substitution of English words where Burns used Gaelic.

nope, Eminem is American.

Chords?
Use your eyes!
Hey, what key are you playing in here? I can't tell if it's a G, a D, or something else I'm not picking up. Gorgeous work regardless!
Its in G, but if you treat the capo as the nut of the guitar leading to the first fret then its in C i.e. that's the fingering.
Fucking mustard mate! A socialist/humanist anthem for the world
Are you a descendant of Robert?
Beautiful song, friend. And a gorgeous performance.
