This is probably going to sound like a bizarre compliment. This song is almost a break down of the so many individual ways that anyone can make noise - work through your throat/glottal muscle, chest and nasal breath control, nose, tongue and lips...... maybe even using the head/sinus spaces as a vibration area?.... but yet still keep a rhythm and harmony. I find it personally pretty healing, since so many of those spaces can have troubles with one or another of those items. Shows that there's another way. Snot-nosed nerdy asthmatics unite !
The unbizarre compliment is that this song is lovely, thanks D-low for sharing it. It gets stuck in my head.

I was coming back to this even in 2022. You know the feeling when you wake up in the morning and the melody is playing in your head. This is so catchy. And now listening it with perfect execution and mix is so refreshing and inspiring.

Firstly, congratulations on your news release. I love d-low's old beats and freestyles, and I never get tired of listening to them, but when I heard the other day that he wants to stop freestyling and put out more stuff soon, I was somewhat aware that perhaps a release was coming. My personal feeling is that I like d-low's music so far, but if they have new ideas, I would like to focus on them in the future. d-low has become a legend in the beatbox world, but we still have a long way to go. there's a clear change in this track that everyone is aware of, but there's also a change really early. the juxtapostion between "I cant pull" and "myself together" at the very start is exactly how it feels to try and deal with something bigger than you or traumatic... Dan is clearly one of the greatest beatboxers ever, but this with the "it's gunna stay with me forever" line... you can take the skill away and just those lyrics cover a multispectrum of guilt, grief and depression. Dan, you're a beast mate. keep it clean and crispy, use more of the singing and lyrics, you're great at it.

The whole concept blew me away, the polarity of the artform and how musical it is. Angelic tones mixed with dirty, devilish bass filling the need for the low to even it out and fill the soundscape. Such a relatable hook too, how am I supposed to keep sane? I've literally felt that, and understand that for you, the answer was the artform. I can see it from a similar perspective to my own journey. It also shows what you can do with such a commitment of time and effort into your craft. This wasn't my first beatbox experience, I even tried my hand it it when I was younger. But to see someone that went all in to master their craft and deliver such an awesome song and display of skill... You're an absolute weapon D-low, and I can not wait to see what you do next.
