Taiwan's Lai Attacks China "Autocracy" On Tiananmen Massacre Anniversary, Beijing Slams "Smear"

- On the 35th anniversary of the violent June 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown in China, Hong Kong’s Chief Executive John Lee warned of possible “attempts” to “cause trouble” in the region. The leader refrained from naming anyone when he issued the warning as the anniversary becomes increasingly sensitive in Hong Kong which is now a special administrative region of Beijing. Meanwhile, Taiwan’s new pro-independence President, Lai Ching-te, who has already rubbed Beijing the wrong way, said that he will work hard to make the historical memory of the anniversary last forever. In an implicit attack on Taiwan, Chinese foreign ministry has accused foreign governments of “hyping up” the issue to “smear” Beijing.

Looking back 35 years to 1989 the decision by Chinese government to end the students' anarchy is the correct move as the timing to claim for more democracy by the students is too early in China's development track.
Food had to come before the right to protest.
Today the same freedom claimed by the students were achieved and the majority of Chinese people are happy, well fed and prosperous and satisfied with their government.
If the students anarchy was allowed to progress further, China could well had split into 30 over new countries with each province trying to run their own show.
That happened to the USSR in 1992.
The CPC should now openly document what exactly happened in TianAnMen (TAM) as part of China's long and turbulent history.
The students were as much at fault as the government in any deaths that had occurred.
Nothing need to be hidden now as the 1989 decision had proven to be the correct decision by the passage of time, achieving today's modern China.
Close this TAM's book once and for all time.
