These cockpit views are wonderful! I'm glad to finally get to see the pilot's POV. It's sort of like the nose camera view of the space shuttle landing. You get a sense of what it's really like. Thank you.
Mr Hug, Thank you for all your videos, we can only watch and dream how nice it is to be in the cockpit with you guys. your very lucky guys, keep the videos coming.yakub

Me encantan los aviones.
After the crash of American Airlines 191, cameras showing the takeoff/landing were mainly removed from the airline industry because it would be terrifying for the passengers if the plane was about to crash.

Visually nice, as with any approach to Malé, but how come the flight crew seem to be totally silent? If they said anything, the mike didn't pick it up. (or I am going deaf)
Nice video ..@ 5:07,was that Gear down warning? or AP off. It sure looks like a nice day for Visual Approach...;0) FSX is the closest ill get too Landing lol Merry Christmas from Canada...
When a plane comes into land at an airport it uses flaps to slow it down and eventually halt aircraft and these flaps are mounted along rear of each wing. The flaps are set in different settings while aircraft is on its landing approach (or even when plane taking off), but once an aircraft has landed flaps are fully deployed which causes aircraft to brake as air passing over wings and over the fully extended flaps causes aircraft to start braking. That's when you hear engine roaring and your pressed harshly against seatbelt. So yes - all aircraft from a small Cessna to the Space Shuttle use flaps to slow and stop respective vehicle no matter length of runway When I read 'reverse thrust' I smiled a little as I used to think there was some reverse thrusting of engines to make a plane stop when all along it is the power of wind hitting these huge flaps on an airplanes wing.
limolee007 Interesting...so are you saying a commercial aircraft relies upon drag alone to come to a halt after landing? Why do the engines roar and why does the 'braking' pressure sometimes feel inconsistent?
Paul Carrington If I've said the incorrect thing here, please enlighten us and I don't say that to be smart, I was just giving the best answer I know as to how a plane reacts under full flaps when landed. Cheers.
***** What is it with this term people use of 'reverse thrust'? Do people think the plane - any plane - lands and then the engines are put into some reverse thrust to slow down?? Gees - I had this Paul Carrington question me on this and I asked him kindly to respond - nothing so far because he had nothing. Basically a plane lands albeit a Cessna or a huge A380 the flaps are fully deployed and with the help of braking a plane slows down - end of story - no 'reverse thrust' of engines bullshit. Apologies for being blunt but that's it. Goodnight :)
limolee007 I questioned why the engines roar and why the force of deceleration was inconsistent if its 'the wind' on the flaps that cause an aeroplane to brake. Planes achieve some braking using the flaps which cause drag, they also have carbon fibre brakes within the wheel hubs and they have a system on the engines which reverse thrust. These three systems work together to bring an aircraft to a halt.
+Caroline Faddis FL 370 means Flight Level 37,000 feet. so yes. If you mean MH 370, then no, you are a loony and need to spend your time working on other more realistic problems, like how to teach yourself to be less conspiratorial about the way the world works.

the most beautiful arriving in the world !
It would be nice if the airlines could show the landings on the screens for passengers to watch.
After the crash of American Airlines 191, cameras showing the takeoff/landing were mainly removed from the airline industry because it would be terrifying for the passengers if the plane was about to crash.
Nick H Emirates (EK) has cameras showing both take-off and landing and taxi.
in economy class seats, business and first.
Filipa Rodrigues Yes, cameras are being brought back into the industry nowadays.
Nick H Losing an engine is probably terrifying even without a camera. ;)
Niklas Bergsten You bet!
Fantastic landing with a beautiful approach to that island. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. Thank you for posting this.
You is the Leonardo da Vinci of the videos. Congratulations

Amazing, your videos should win an Oscar!
Wonderful quality.
Well...that was the smoothest landing I have ever seen!!! Very nice view coming in~
One of the best landing video I've ever seen.
Superb!!
Thanks for sharing
Beautiful view. Nice video
Thank you very much! Indeed the view on this video is awesome.
Best regards and cheers for commenting!
Great video, thank you for recording and sharing this.. Now I know what our arrival feels like when we go on our honeymoon to the Maldives.
Einfach grandios.
That's some beautiful scenery!
Merry Christmas, wish you the best. Have a great and safe holiday and Happy New Year.
Great scenery approach - thanks
I am the world's worst traveller, I hate it. But I really enjoyed watching this. I shall look at some others. Thank you.
Could see the Taj Exotica on the South Male Atoll on your final!! great video!
GRACIAS POR ESTOS VIDEOS TAN MAGNIFICOS !!
landing in paradise, what a great view!
A flight above turqoise water and colorful atolls is the best flight.
in my opionon the A330 is the most beautiful airplane!
The ocean is so incredibly blue.
wow awesome landing
Great Quality Video. beautiful
Beautiful!
@7thcavalary he said his fav bird is the sister of a330, but i don't know. i love the a340 and a330, and of course a380 and a320 =)
Gorgeous ... I agree with Henry below; pity about the interfacing.
WHAT A NICE PLACE TO LAND!
yes very good video , I fell very interesting watching this type of valuable videos
Great Video👍💥
You did your best, great video
MY SALUT TO U DNHUG ANOTHER EXCELLENT VID AND MERRY X-MAS

beutiful video, Merry Christmas m8, thanks for the video.
Are you a pilot yourself? What camera and mount do you use for your videos? Thanks for posting them.
Merry Christmas
Very nice i liked the video!

Merry Christmas from Canada...
great stuff
Thank you for posting! Amazing!
WONDERFUL!!
Feliz Navidad Dom :)!!
Great job! I loved this. The scenery is amazing. Where you the pilot in command upon landing?
Thanks :)
The interlacing is a bit distracting. Was this standard definition video bumped up to HD?
as always, great video! and merry christmas! :)
@dnhug what is your fav bird?? a320 odr a340??
Does that airport ever flood over? can't say I ever saw one that matched sea level like that one before...
Maldives is the flattest country in the world - highest point is 8ft (yup, eight feet) above sea level!
Who knows how long that airport has left? It is threatened by future rising sea levels.
😢
it's in indian ocean right? with runway length of 10000+ ft I think
Yes, that is accurate. Best regards
dnhug I saw it on FSX, Limited options misson🙂
Well Done! Great capture!! ;D
When it takes you the whole lenght of the runway to slow down, stop... That's not good... Same as in St. Maarten
What kind of camera do you use?
Can pilots who are rated for the airbus fly any airbus variant? Since they all have the same systems?
no, because the don't have one to one the same system
+assasin9414 I'm a little late but it depends. A333 pilots (for sas) can fly the a343. A320 pilots can also fly the a321.
The runway was 10,499' I think. That was a turnaround I have never done.
How do you get these videos?
Way Cool!!!!
Airbus 330-200 sind auch Geschichte. Swiss Hat nur mehr die -300 Version
@7thcavalary yes i know, i red ;)
Man! One major Tsunami and that whole country would be literally washed off of the face of the planet!
2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami couldn't wipe us Maldivians! But rising sea levels might.
is it necessary to use reverse thrust always? in cases when runway is big enough

+Caroline Faddis I thank you Ma'am!
Does anyone has information about the runway lenght?
3200 Meters. :)
i thought this was FSX
You get simply blind by those colours!
@dnhug lucky!
u turn?
is it possible fl 370 landed here?
+Caroline Faddis FL 370 means Flight Level 37,000 feet. so yes. If you mean MH 370, then no, you are a loony and need to spend your time working on other more realistic problems, like how to teach yourself to be less conspiratorial about the way the world works.
