I'm watching this in 2022. I'm 32 and I don't are what anyone says.... This is a classic and brings back memories of when I was younger. Your never to old to enjoy a classic animation. 😊😊😊
Oh my God
You are young younger. I'm 67 years old
@@blackpearl5439 still a classic 😂

I’m 78, and I still escape into this story from time to time, in order that I can briefly shut out the times we live in now!!!
❤
I'm 72 .it's an escape from reality .
Exactly...innocent..lovely days..good manners..love..
All the things we knew..
I'm 76...wind in the willows,the secret garden
Have allways been my favourites..just a romantic...
Well said. No scenery is more bucolic and blissful than rolling down the lazy river with those dear animal characters!
Well said. No scenery is more bucolic and blissful than rolling down the lazy river with those dear animal characters! 10:38
0:28 started crying when I heard that nostalgic oboe melody.
It’s 2023, I’m 35, and this was one of my favorite movies as a child. Now, I’m laying in bed with my 4 year old, laughing at Toad’s antics and reveling in the musicality and witty dialogue.
Time steals many things, but the love and memories live on, even in the simplest of movies.
If you’re reading this, sit with the beauty of the moment and enjoy this classic.
Toad's dialogue when he finally gets the plane is screamingly funny.
"Well I didn't get to where I am today by THINKING!"
When I was a kid back in 1994/95, my mother used to put this VHS tape on when I was sick... It would always calm me down, soothe me enough to sleep and also keep me sat still completely mesmerized by the story....
Today, 2023, I'm 31.
Struck with a stomach bug,
I've found this video..
Suddenly, a wave of calm...
Proof that there really is magic in storytelling
È stato fortunato ad avere una mamma così,le ha voluto bene.

Striked by COVID, passed the last 48 hours in great pain... Finally starting to get better, so I watched the 2 chapters. The very moment the music began, peace took over me.

I could swear I see this whilst still in primary school. I left in 93. Yey the description and a Google search says 1996🤔
Is this what they call the Mandela effect?😂😂😂
I"m 73. My mom used the original story as a bedtime read when I was a toddler circa 1950. I grew up reading and hearing it; I probably learned some reading skills from those evening 'reads'. When my mom was dying from MRSA, we took turns reading this story to her as she lay seemingly unconscious. I suspect she heard and knew... Especially, the Piper at the gates of dawn.
That brought tears to my eyes. I hope my children will do the same.
That was both sweet and sad, it just shows how much of an impact Wind in the Willows had on you and your mother's lives.
Yes, she probably heard and knew as you helped usher her through the veil, blessings received and given in return.
I'm 65, my aunty bought me this book when I was too little to read it. I still have the book she gave me. Different chapters in this book have sustained me through some very difficult times. Also I often find the people I can trust most remind me of Badger, Ratty or Mole. That has helped me like a kind of moral compass, nevertheless, we all need a bit of Toad sometimes!!!
I use to watch the 1995 Cartoon Animation Feature of The Wind in the Willows, back in my childhood in the 90s when I was Little Hallingbury Primary School kid. It was Broadcasted on the TV screen which was recorded onto video.
“I didn’t get where I am today by thinking. ACTION! Onwards and upwards.”
New life motto
Still listening in 2024 almost every night as my bedtime story. 32 and never too old 🥰
I'm 65 and am watching this animated feature. I saw it the first time on TV before cable . It is a classic and well worth the time. I love the artwork❤
Nov 2023 -47 years old Having a blast with Toad and his imperial shenanigans. Kudos to the souls who made this beautiful piece of animated ecstasy!
I'm 80, and I watch this all the time, when I'm down or just won't to be a kid agean. ,
Right there with you - 66.
I'm 64 in a few days and I love it
78 here love it
76 and loving it! I watched Moles Christmas yesterday and that was amazing!
I know just how you feel. I’m 71 and I absolutely love this and similar things - it’s such a comfort to feel like a child again!
I just found Wind in the Willows for the first time in 20 years. Hadn't seen it since I was like 7, now I'm 27. And all that time I didn't even know there was a sequel! I have it paused right now to share my excitement at not only seeing a movie I hadn't seen since childhood, but also get to see it's sequel for the first time! I feel like a kid again omg. Pressing play!
Meee tooo 😅😅
The sequel is written by a different writer as the original writer of Wind in the Willows Kenneth Graham refused to write one. In addition to this William tHarwood wrote 3 more sequels .
Same for me!!
And for me I didn't realise there was a sequel to The Book let alone a film
Edit: apparently there are 10 books in the series
I'm 81 and I'm still watching this classic,it's 8:30pm mybest time of night, I just can't stop watching these great movies,I just forget everything thats going on outside, don't even answer the phone, I'm down for the count.
... Yes 8:30pm Is A Good Time, Nice and Dark so Just the Screen Is Visible... Wind in The Willows just never Gets Stale ... Greetings from Bradford West Yorkshire 🏴✌️🌄🌄🌄 8:28
I'm 64 and I almost feel embarrassed but I love animation, especially when it's well done, like this one. Thank you
I'm 41. Why embarrassed? Animation is art. Did you know that cartoon figures decorated ancient Mesopotamian musical instruments and Medieval manuscripts?
It is 2024 and I am in Washigton DC. It is 4am and this popped up in my feed. I was raised with the Wind and the Willows. My mother bought her last house because there was a mature willow tree on the property. I have also planted willow trees in honour of this wonderful tale. I thank you for indirectly inviting me to enjoy this tale of winter near the river. God bless us all. 💙🫂
God bless you and your family.
Best Wishes from Scotland great to be able to watch this 😊
The animation is just gorgeous and beautiful, you REALLY feel the cold just looking at the backgrounds that u just wanna get into nice, cozy blanket, warmed up by a warm fireplace and drink some hot chocolate. 😊😊
I am 73 and I have the book I've cherished it it is in perfect condition
I was a small child then first time I heard this story. I'm a 73 year old GMom now. What a pleasant surprise! 🙏🏾

I had no idea there was a sequel!!
My grandparents (on my mother's side) had The Wind in The Willows on tape at their old farmhouse. I fell in love with it the first moment I watched it. Oh, the memories.
1:06:00 Toad's too young to parish in a fire!!!
I have this on a video when I was at my grandparents as a wee little boy growing up
Same here! Had no idea!
I remember watching this on television when I was 6 years old. Unlike most sequels this one is rather enjoyable.
You lucku sod-- envy you 300%
Who's watching this in 2020? I am :) I was a young child when The Wind In The Willows was on VHS and I loved it! Just now in 2020 I've found this video and now know that there's a Willows In Winter. I knew there was a book with the same title but never a movie sequel. Anyone else have a similar experience? And it could be nostalgia talking but I like the animation in the first one better. This one seems..."updated"?
We are! 😆
@@TamaraGrace :) When did you first watch The Willows In Winter and how did you find out about it?
I believe I was real young. To be honest, I almost didn't know what it was. Until folks started talking about Mr. Toad.
That jostled my memory a bit. Lol
I'm 32 now. Much older, and now, watching with my children -again. 😊
@@TamaraGrace I'm really glad to hear you found it again and especially that you are sharing it with your children :D If you haven't yet, definitely show the The Wind In The Willows. It is just as charming. Hope all is well for you and yours!
This movie, purchased on VHS when my granddaughter was a child in 1995 remains one of those I return to again and again when I need a soothing escape from the world. There is also the fitting movie simple titled Wind in the Willows. Which is equally lovely.
One of my all time favourite stories but nothing beats the Cosgrove Hall stop-motion version from 1983. It is sublime.
yesss, it's my favourite. I've saved it to my Christmas film list. 🎅😊💖🤶🎄
Amen! Amen! Amen!
The absolutely best💞
Ah! The memories

I love the 1983 stop motion version, I grew up watching the TV show of it on VHS.
Thanks for the heads up - watching it now 👌🏻
Maybe, but Rik Mayall is definitely the best Toad of all the versions. Also, these versions have Michael Gambon and Eric Idle. Top drawer voice cast.
Who’s watching in November 2019. Am from cold Netherlands! Such childhood classics that are timeless ♥️♥️♥️
Judith Doraisamy Me😆❤️ This animation stays close to my heart.

How could body give these movie's a thumbs down, thay must not have had a very happy child hood, my son and I watched all of these ,and me and his son watched them my son passed in 2011, and my grandson is 23 in jan.3 and now we are sitting hear crying were haveing so much fun rembering his DAD what a lovely man he was 45yr.
Even though in my 50s, i cried with nostalgia. Thank you ✅
I watched this as a kid. Brought back a lot of nostalgia too
Rick Mayall sells a cream for treating nostalgia but it doesnt work as well as it used to.🐱
I didn't know there was a sequel :D This was our favorite movie with my father when I was 6. We kept watching it whenever we had father&daughter time. We still make jokes of it and I still keep the cd :) The music, atmosphere, you just wanna cuddle this movie. I don't know why, everything was better then. Everything was warmer. I wish we could feel the same again :') Thanks for sharing it.
@Veni Vidi Vici :) Agree. Cheers.
66 now. A real tough 2022. This brings back so many memories. Never forgotten reading the book the first time. I was 8 and Piper at the Gates of Dawn was so ethereal and beautiful. Where did those times go?
Ive still got my 'Wind in the Willows' book my Mum bought me when i was 7....im now 67....❤
It’s always nice too see these classic ahh animations pop up now and then
Sounds and pictures from your youth sure are bittersweet !
I spent long hours alone as a child reading Wind In The Willows especially on long summer afternoons. Then when the movies came out well what a delight for me..so many memories of my mind getting lost in these stories..taking adventures without having to leave home or the yard but in my mind thousands of miles away far away in The Willows🌳🏞
One of the greats. A timeless masterpiece. My Grandchildren are 11 and 8 and absolutely love this. They also love episodes of Frog and Toad. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories as well.
I've never seen any of these before. My first time at 68! I thoroughly enjoyed it😄 Rik Mayall was brilliant. Thank you
Wonderful animated version of the classic story, there's a warmth and charm to the storytelling and the loveable characters......an absolute joy to watch
I found out tonight that Actor Sir Michael Gambon had died today.

I love this! I also discovered a podcast, "The Sleepy Bookshelf" that has several episodes of "The Wind in the Willows" The narrators voice is great. Her rendition of Mr. Toad's songs about himself were stuck in my head for days. It's both entertaining and helps me sleep.
I'm 63..and a half 😂. This is perfect nostalgia and comfort ❤❤ (edited to add that my comment is the 1000th) 20th October 2024.
Ohhhh my, the Willows, I've loved them since being young. I raised my children to know their wonderful magic and now my grandson.
Thank you for that wonderful feeling of being young again.
I can't, for the life of me, understand why I didn't know this story from my childhood. Mom gave me the book about 10 years ago (at age 50) and said I'd enjoy it. She was right!
I was a cell painter, I did the airplane under the bridge bit amongst many other moments lost in time, cheers
Thanks for this
Watched this and The Wind In The Willows so many times with my kids. It was their favorite. I still love it and I still have my copies on video. Brings back fond memories of days gone by. Thank you for uploading it. ♥️
Im poorley,im lying in bed, watching this wonderful film,I'm 40years old,I used to read the books, and watch videos on me betamax video such happy memories, wer as the time gone
Wow brings back some wonderful memories. I'm 55 and still love watching this xxx thank you for the memories.
Thanks so much for sharing this I only had a copy on VHS and couldn't afford to replace to DVD, what a lovely find here again Thank You.
I just bought my daughter The Wind in The Willows.... what a delight for both her and myself....so lovely.....
I remember reading this story when I was a child. This is a really good adaptation.
It's 2024 an I'm 36 and still I love watching this. It's one of the movies I usually watch at night in bed to help me unwind an it always makes me sleepy. Once my eyes get really heavy I turn it of an I'm asleep within minutes. When I don't watch any of my movies like this one it usually takes me an hour minimum just to go to sleep. When I finally do fall asleep I have a horrible night's sleep so I think I'll keep watching this an the other couple old cartoon movies I have to watch at bed time. This movie really is an all time classic.
I haven't seen these movies since they were made and showed them to my children when they were very young. What a treat! Thank you!
I’m 75 and my parents did not encourage us to read these books. But have just found so I’m really enjoying these videos. Thanks for uploading
Thank you so much for this. This is the definition of childhood for me. I didn't think I'd ever see it again.
I’m 41 and the wind in the willows books played a big part of my childhood. I would read for hours and pretend that I lived on the riverbank as well. Over the years I’ve watched many adaptations of the willows the tv series when I was a kid the films and the musicals and every time I’m transported back to my childhood sitting on my bed reading the books and wishing I lived on the riverbank
This film, on VHS, was basically my entire childhood until we got a DVD player. I stopped watching my VHS tapes after that. And I haven't seen this film since I was about 4/5. And I'm turning 16 tomorrow and just last week I started watching the Young Ones. And Rik Mayall is one of the main actors in that. And I saw that he plays Mr Toad in this and....it makes so much sense now. His voice didn't change for this role. And now my childhood actually links to my personality now and I'm over excited about it

I love Prendergast. What with everyone in court against Toad, it was awesome to see him walk in and make such a great speech about Toad. He even clears Toad's name in the end. I wish there had been a third film to have him be Toad's Butler.

The way Toad goes from sick to well is FANTASTIC!! Screaming "Well, what happened to breakfast?!?!"
Thank you thank you for loading this is one of my favorite childhood movies and you can't find it anywhere
Why do we have to get old? Why can we never go back? This life is so short and its over in a blink of an eye 😢
In the next world, we exist outside of time, hopefully we choose to be with God and get to enjoy "going back" to our childhood or whatever time we desire and relive it better! ( In my opinion least ways. )
We were children, once. And innocent. To all those who miss their childhood.. never to be found again. But their memory still remains!
This is very nostalgic! I used to read the books to my son and daughter.
THANK YOUUUUU!!!!! I'm so happy to find this video, "The wind in the Willows" is one of my favorites books, and I love this movie, I saw it when I was a child, I´ve been looking the same animated version of The Wind in the Willows for more of 20 years, and I supose I´m very near for found it hehe. This is "The willows in winter" and now I can see it again, thank you very much. Greetings from Chile!
In my opinion, Rik Mayall was the strongest part of this movie. Toad’s genuine regret at letting Mole and Rat down, and him finally going off at the Lords and his accusers, was so perfect. I get that we’re not supposed to agree with Toad on everything he does, but that’s what makes him so great to watch. And I think most of it is just the power of Rik Mayall.
Thank you so much for uploading this. It was my favourite back in the 90's
Wind In The Willows & Willows In Winter Are Charming British Classics,& I Had Watching These Films A lot Recently!
