@@Ts_Sasha because getting dupes on selected banner gives you more elephs(character fragment/pink shards with character face) and eligma(universal fragment/blank pink shards which can be converted to elephs) for upgrading that character.
To make it simple, it gives you more resource to upgrade that student.
In this case, getting Dress Hina dupe gives you 100 elephs(=500 eligma) and 50 eligma which is the total value of 550 eligmas. Which is more than getting off-rate 3 stars that only gives you 30 elephs(=150 eligma but cannot be used for Dress Hina) and 50 eligma which is the total value of 200 eligma.
