Canada was in turmoil when Kevin Dineen took over, They didn't play nearly as good as the usually can but got there in the end.
This match was all about their heart, and less about their lack of form. Brilliant.

About Knight and the break away. Knight reached her near the blue line. She was on the left of Wickenheiser, who is right-handed. Knight made then a move to go on her right side and touched her skate doing so. The sad thing for the American is that Knight didn't have to do that at all. She had enough speed to, at least, prevent Wickenheiser to have a good shot.

It didn't seem to be any intentional tripping.

    Good interview.
Wickenheiser did not mention that seconds before her break away, she lost the puck to Knight. Canada had been very lucky that Knight made her pass on the wrong side of Schleper, who was in a very good position to score. She couldn't handle the puck causing the break away.
Wickenheiser is right saying that USA payed too much attention on her on the winning goal. It was not the goalie but Picard who was pushing her. The player mostly at fault was Schleper who stand close of Wickenhenseir while Picard was already covering her.
USA team learned that Fortino very rarely shot in these occasions. It turned out to be very good in that game but at this year championship, they adjusted, cutting much of her effectiveness.

MPP has scored THREE Olympic golden goals including one in OT. All in all, she has scored 7 goals in those 4 finals. The Americans as a team have scored six. She also scored the GWG in OT at last year’s World Championship. MPP is the GOAT. Captain Clutch
