Your video reminded me of a personal experience where my cousin, who has very educated parents, was forced to pursue MBBS even though she didn't get a seat in a government medical college. She had a passion for literature and had tried to convince her parents to let her study literature, but all her efforts were in vain. Her parents had consulted a family astrologer who had advised them that she would do well as a doctor. This was a classic example of how astrology can affect a person's life and career. It's important that we educate people about the dangers of blindly following astrology and making life decisions based on it. While there are demerits of choosing something purely on astrological predictions. But I have a controversial statement to make based on my own life experiences: 1. My grandfather was battling cancer. His date of birth was told to an astrologer. He predicted that I don't see him living beyond 3rd April 2013. And precisely on 3rd April at around 2 am he passed away. 2. I was in my B. Tech with many active backlogs. During the exams my mom went to a pandit and he said that next week he's going to get a job. While I had worked on other areas which did help me get that job, I would not have been shortlisted for the interview had I not cleared my exams. What do you say about that? 3. A similar instance happened during my MBA days. I had appeared for interviews for 15+ companies. I used to clear 5-6 rounds and then get rejected in the last round. One fine day an astrologer told my mom to make me wear a green thread on my right wrist. Upon doing that he told me that all my efforts will get recognised and I'll get there job tomorrow. And guess what? I got the job. 4. Once during my childhood an astrologer told me that I'll get cut on my left leg near the knee in the vertical direction in the month of November. And that's what happened. Over the years I have dismissed astrology a lot. I know that correlation is not causation. But I've thought about all these events a lot. I haven't got even an iota of a reason as to why it is a correlation. Now I don't know how these predictions have been so accurate. But guys! Good astrologers do not give vague statements. Only frauds give vague statements.

The man who would predict, was silenced. The crowd was stunned. The astrology genius, who would just need to lay his eyes on someone, stranger or friend, and make a startling revelation, stayed silent. Why? How? Was he not able to read this man? Out of curiosity, the crowd gathered around and asked him about it. Why did you go silent? The mystic closed his eyes, sighed and smiled. He said,” What should I say to that man? He is on his own path. He is not worried about tomorrow. He does not mind if there are obstacles. He would walk past them. He does not need solutions. He has no behavior, no pattern, no identity. Your chart, your birthday, your stars and planets do not define your future, but, they were to help you mentally and psychologically go and achieve your goals. If someone tells you that you cannot do something or you will not gain something or you will not be happy with someone, they are plain wrong. They have no way of telling you what your happiness is. If your chart does not encourage you into going and finding your own happiness in life, well, then it has been read wrong. If your chart does not match your aspirations, it has been read wrong. It is not the other way around. Period. Whether you choose to believe or not to believe, you have to work in life. So create your own path, find your happiness, work on things you love and you will never need astrology. If you really still want to make it a part of your life, then go to it so it can encourage you to meet your ambitions.

To the older generation, this is an art passed down from generations. I have the same skill taught to me when I was kid on the foundation that the ancestors were taught the same things. I've said multiple things against astrology in my early childhood, however I was ostracized as an outcast in my family, as someone who doesn't follow the light of tradition. Instead of spending thousands of rupees trying figure out who i was, I learnt this art as a hobby. Here is my take on it: - Science reduced the bias of believing in hope. This goes the same for religion. Religion was the beacon of hope and created a sense of belonging in times when we could not comprehend the existence of our surroundings. There was time when the earth was theorised to be the center of the universe. (This is church science). Influence caters to the identification of facts. You could be factual only if you're opinions are accepted on a societal level. Hence, astrology is a scam if you're taking this seriously to go ahead in life or to tackle real practical problems. - By fact, sidereal astrology originated earlier. That's true but Bhrigu Samhita is believed to be the original which isn't even from our yuga or a generation close to the greeks. It's believed to be nearly the age of Satya Yuga and the origins of Manu, the first human (Each yuga is approximately 250,000+ years if I'm not wrong in Vedic mythological calculations of time.) - I found it more valuable to study phenomenon that science could not prove, which is life after death of the human body. Meena Rasi is Pisces which is the 12th house, the natural decline of your life, shows death and spiritual pursuits of human life, the astral world or reality outside earth that most humans cannot access and secret enemies. I found that there is some rational belief to soul and existence outside the material world. There is a chance to understand your previous lives if you take a mythological foundation for your reasoning. However, I felt there is a strong instinctive sense of prediction when it came to the 6th house, the house of debts, diseases and open enemies, job, daily routine (Opposite to 12th house, Kanya Rasi Virgo) It sometimes operated as beacon of light to take precautions against certain people or situations who misuse your words or actions and create hurdles. (Misunderstandings in open settings) I completely agree that making decisions based on this is utterly stupid. Part of following your destiny is to take balanced actions based on your instincts and the foundation of proven reality. Blind judgement proves fatal. But you could have fun predicting some things as coincidences. Please don't ever take this seriously. Use these aspects of religion and pseudoscience to theorise things. No godman can change your fate. God is action. God is truth and fact.

But do you guys believe in the fact that present science can explain everything happening in the universe? Aren't there any limitations of present world science? Just because science rejects the theory doesn't prove its invalidity conclusively. Science has its limitations. Do you guys believe that or not?

It was just yesterday when I was researching all around the internet to stand my points against astrology to prove them to one of my close friends who is blindly following these astrology suggested ways . But the irony is that these processes are actually making her life tougher by deciding most of her important life decisions . I partially disagree with the this video. You cannot apply scientific principles on Astrology which in itself is not derived with these scientific equations. You need to use statistics over a set number of population to check its effectiveness. What is more idiotic is outrightly rejecting everything just because you know Newton's formula. Astrology is followed since ages because it was used to provide guidance on ambiguous decisions. There have also been ample research papers along with stats to prove it correct. And it is impossible to scientifically prove each and every planet's effect on different aspects of our life. That's why it is highly generalized. I understand your point of view too. Indians have blindly started following this highly generalized concept. It doesn't make it wrong though.
Please don't break her beliefs. You are correct. Astrology is not science, for now! But in the name of science, don't break her beliefs as it is going to make her depressed. She would change herself naturally. Don't force anything on her. I have been made an atheist because of my friend who was constantly forcing me to disbelief in God. And now I am lost and depressed. This is just a video which I got recommended as I had previously subscribed to the channel and not as a part of research . I had my own clear ideology about astrology much before I watched this . And I said that my friend was a blind follower because she actually never used her own rational conscience while taking suggestions from any astrologer . The problem is not that she believes in astrology, but rather I am suggesting her to first use her own rational thinking before going to any astrologer while taking every big life decision . This is just a video whose information matched with my ideology and nothing more than that like I am taking the video as my whole source of research or something. I never had a conflict with my friend on this topic . I never told her that don't follow astrology . But whenever we had conversations on this topic and I just suggested to take this topic with rationality. Everyone here needs to understand the difference between so called astrologers and real astrologers. These so called astrologers and apps like ASTROTALK polluted this industry badly as astrology is an art not like a shop or a business which can be passed on. There are very few gem astrologers left in India so rather than making an assumption on astrology as a whole we should appreciate the beauty of real astrology. all the so called astrologers don't find any work in the field so they step into these apps like ASTROTALK, dressed up like a magician and making hefty claims but I am sorry to say this is not the real astrology. Most of the rich successful businessmen, professionals of your cities, states believe in this concept because they got the right one and remember Astrology is done for a particular person not as a whole like Predicting India's future, Predicting about Stock market, It is done for a particular person. And to find a good and real astrologer ask him about your past if he passes clear statements (not universal statements like- you have capability you have potential but you were distracted etc etc) by clear statements i mean which specifically fits you you, then my friend you may have got the right one. And remember- An Astrologer can affect your life as they can either manipulate or loot you, But a good astrologer can do wonders in your life.

Indian astrology begins with the Vedas, Jyotisha Shaashtram is one of the 6 Vedangas, the knowledge required to study the Vedas. Jyotisha Shaashtram is the root of Indian Mathematics but Jyotisha Shaashtram was not intended to predict future though later works of sage Bhrigu and Parashar deals with this prediction related areas. Ofcourse, there are some influences of planets upon us (sometimes it's a bit more) but ultimately our life is our Karma. Some better explanations regarding this can be found in _Autobiography of a Yogi_ by Paramahansa Yogananda.
These days everyone tries to be cool by mocking our culture. People mocked Meditation, Yoga, and Ayurveda. Now the same people are trying become it's brand ambassadors. Just because they met with wrong guy or they didn't try to understand core meaning behind planet affecting life. They are ready to present the thing as a pseudoscience. Panchang is a part of astrology that predicted lunar and solar eclipse thousands of years ago. Now people give the date and time by Nasa that is established in 1950's. Then how Hindus were able to do the same 1000's years back. For example a weak moon means not very good relation with mother, having mental level troubles. A good Jupiter means a persons attracted to knowledge. There are a lat many aspect with each planet for now it's enough. Those who are seeking enough that is core thought in Science as Well as Hinduism will seek the truth further.
The point you have made about Greek and Indian is true. But, India has its own Astrology book called Vedanga Jyotisha, which doesn't actually tell the future or past, it actually defines the position of planets. It is easy today, but it is actually a great thing that we managed to map the position of objects. Greek astrology is the one which actually tells the future and past. Astrology that is developed in Indian subcontinent where they see a person's kundali based on their time of birth and place is actually real. I have my own experience that I don't want to share bcoz it related to one of the biggest tragedy of my life. But ya it's real. And I'm not speaking here out of faith. It's based on my life experience.

Actually it is good that they see it as pseudoscience and making superficial comments..... There are many IITians who are great practioners of vedic astrology. Why don't they have an open discussion with one of them who are practicing because they see meaning in it instead of the babas. Sincere studients know and see things in life deeply than those half-baked, woke, peer-influenced by superficial knowledge of astrology. Real student and practioners are reaping the benefits of astrology to evolve and understand the deeper meaning of life. Vedic Astrology is not as much about predication and comparisons but about understanding the nature of the universe and how individuals can study and experience it to evolve themselves for liberation. There is nothing to prove, it is something to be experienced just like Yoga....you evolve internally which needs no proving to the world that it works. man i dont know but every time my family pandit ji predicts something it turns out to be true i just told him that i am not able to concentrate and he gave me the exact time from which this thing started happening using his said upchars my dad's business which was slowing down a bit now in off season has more customers but he doesnt predict stupid things like match results etc.

Varun, I am an ardent subscriber of yours and have been always watching your content and sharing it out in my circle. Mostly they are very critical, well presented, and informative. However, please don't make a judgement on something that doesn't scientifically make sense yet (believe me there are a lot of things out there). You can talk about apps like Astrotalk and their business models out there which run on an approximate algorithm, but you must understand that Astrology is a completely different way of looking at human beings. I was a total atheist since my childhood believing in only that which science can prove, my sudden discovery of my own astrological predictions completely changed me into a person I am today. There is a lot more element to it if you really have the patience and time to go through texts such as Brhad Jataka. I know you won't vibe with these and neither is it necessary for you, but please don't misguide people on an entire subject based on two observations and data you have with you. I have personally known people (being an extreme level skeptic), who would look at you and would tell you what would happen to you in the next 5-10 years, and that exactly would happen. Just that these people hardly go online or try to show off, because developing this kind of intuition is a result of years of sadhana. There is a lot, lot, lot more out there than the crevices of logic and rationality our minds are stuck in. For that you need to explore naked, free and open, with lots of guts and patience and not be attached too much to just some figures. Just to summarize, please enlighten people about business models and their trap, but please don't make a commentary on an entire subject that exists from centuries, without having a proper, in-depth knowledge of it. Okay, read the comments, now sharing a REAL and GENUINE incident. So the person, who suggested me to wear rings, based on astrology, firstly didn't take A SINGLE RUPEE from my parents, nor from anyone else. He never learnt astrology as a profession, but only as a hobby. Secondly, he doesn't even talk to all people about astrology, nor does he go about giving free advices to anyone and everyone. He only discusses about it with close people, or anyone know who asks for it. And thirdly, that guy himself predicted the "DEATH" of his own children. Yes, he feel asleep while making their horoscope, and had a dream , that he and his two sons have met an accident with a truck, and they all have died on the spot. After waking up, he checked their horoscope and found there was a real possibility. He cross checked with all his contacts who knew about astrology (they are professional astrologers, all well known). They had the same opinion, but also said that the stones he had given his sons will do the job and would protect them. NOW, the most interesting part. Both his sons, had a bike accident while returning home after tuition class of the younger brother, collision with an oncoming truck at a sharp turn, both dead on the spot, no helmets. TWIST, for some reason, both of them had no stones on their hands that day, both of them exactly same day, same time. For the people very willing to level this as fake, some more details. His elder son was a college student, his younger son was in class 6 or 7. Still if you think he was too heartless to make up this story, he had 20 to 30 buses under his name, all working and running, and also earning a very large amount from his business. After that incident, he slowly sold off all his buses, keeping only one, and also, he didn't start any ASTROLOGY BUSINESS in the name of his sons. How do I know all this, my father knows him since before that incident had occurred, and also, my father knew all the things happening in real time, from the mouth of the person himself, not anyone else. Also he was an active politician in Congress at the time of the incident, so he had many ways to earn money, but if you see him today, you would feel he is a regular old man, nothing fancy or rich, a middle class person. Few more incidents, accurately stated my him, which he can have no clue at all. One, my mother had a minor accident and was admitted to the hospital. Second, my brother, a masters degree holder, wanted to go abroad for phd. Fun fact, even my father didn't knew about this fact, and my brother told my father about it the morning they went to meet this person, and he without knowing it beforehand, predicted it accurately. Coming to the conclusion, there are two major facts in your videos. One, that this is a big scam. YES, absolutely true. I won't ever deny that people aren't scammed in the name of astrology. Wherever there is anything related to hope, there surely will be a scam. BUT the second point, that astrology is totally fake. I saw many people agreeing to this fact. Sorry but I don't, and don't brush off this opinion stating that I am not a person whom you are supposed to please. Hindu texts provide scientific facts, which were also once said to be false, but were later verified by the same science that denied it. Being a descendent of that culture, which is rich in scientific knowledge, I don't agree it is entirely fake. Yes there are scams running in the name of astrology, but just citing wikipedia and calling it pseudoscience, please put ahead stronger points to argue.

Thought of commenting here because of several false statements quoted. 1. Astrology originated in Greece - As per wikipedia & Encyclopedia Britannica it's correct. Indian astrology is amongst the 6 body parts of Vedas and Astrology depicts it's eyes. Vedas are atleast 5500 years old ( based on the drying of River Saraswati which is mentioned in several places in Rigveda ).Moreover, its mentioned astrology was used to check the compatibility of Lord Ram & Sita in Ramayan, which dates long back even before Lord Krishna. Do we have to believe it was brought to India 10,000 years before to India!!! Yes, similar to India, different versions of astrology flourished in different parts of the world. 2. Date of birth & Time are considered: Even the place of birth is important. Dob is one amongst the options ( 1st - Sperm meets the ovary, 2nd - Shiridarsan, The first time when baby's head is seen, 3rd - Umbilical cord is cut ) Could have done bit more research before sharing such content ; 3. Planets gives the sufferings/merits: Here it's the trouble caused by translation of the word 'Graha' to English. Graha have multiple meanings; Graha - house, Anugraha/Nigraha - depicts the influence of someone. Here the grahas & it's positions are to showcase the situations of life. It's not at all provided by the grahas ( planets). Even the sun & moon are taken as Grahas. Unfortunately several so called astrologers uses it as provided by the grahas. 4. Cricket & other Predictions - Readings based on Horoscopes are repeatable even by knowledgeable 10 astrologers in different cities. Predictions based on Prasna Jyotish are not repeatable or rational. It's like throwing a 12 faced dice. 12 people can predict 12 outcomes, & the same person may predict something else in the next throw. It's supposed to be used as a Psychological solution. Because most often people come with a problem & the astrologer returns them with another problem of doing certain rituals for 11, 21 days etc. And it may work like a Placebo effect. 5. Astrology & Astronomy are different & Astrology is unscientific: Indian Astrology has 3 parts - Astronomy, Mathematics & Prediction. Here the Astronomy & Mathematics are purely scientific; even the modern science discovered the speed, rotation & revolution of earth identical to that in Panchang; thanks to Indian astronomy & mathematics. Even the hour came from the word Hora. But the 3rd part - Prediction is not scientific ( Couldn't be explained by cause and effect). That doesn't mean the predictions are false. Being a scholar of astrology, I realized it's a vast subject; that 12 years of studies may not be enough to complete it. I found it a very difficult subject to study compared to my Engineering or MBA studies. But unfortunately, this subject is being handled by people who are not even 10th passed. As per my learning, Indian astrology is an excellent tool to predict one's personality, traits, nature & several other things uf it's used legitimately. I'm not in for a debate. It's a request to learn atleast the basics of any subject before commenting it. Here our speaker explains like a pro who researched thoroughly about astrology for at least an year. See, I don't believe in Horoscope and all but I still can't comprehend why my Grandfather was so correct and confident in his predictions. He wasn't an Astrologer or Jyotishi, he was a retired Army Officer. He never said things if anyone asked for it, he used to respond very strictly and told them to do their Karma. But he made predictions whenever he wanted after reading something from over 1000 pages wide Sanskrit books. Let me give one example. I remember once he said about a pregnant cow in our village home that either the mother cow will survive or its half around 1 month before delivery even though the cow was fit and fine. But unfortunately she died within minutes after delivery. There are several such incidents. I still can't understand how he could get things so right.

But Horoscrope is solely based on movement of stars & planets which is constant.Then our planetary system is not gonna act differently since 1 from 8 billion human have acted differently than determined. How horoscope will predict future if he should be already dead as per yesterday's prediction. So This is bit like Schroedinger's Cat problem. What you will do is already determined. But if you see the future and try to change it, How the Fortune teller is gonna predict the next to next day future since entire chain of events is disturbed. If you avoid to see your future only then future predicting can be accurate. So the basic phenomenon that future can be predicted falls completely. "YOU CHANGE YOUR FUTURE IF YOU SEE YOUR FUTURE" So in short, Your life is not determined from day you born and the day you die. Your life is getting shaped as you live through it.
video was amazing, i myself have a brother who is a blind follower of astrology and doing online courses on astrology. when i try put some sense into him, he comes up with some really confused logics. then i understood this is the problem with faith and beleif, beleiving something stupid is still okay, but beleiving the fact that what i am beleiving in is only right is fatal. one should have that much sense so that we can think logically and unlearn few things when needed and think unbiased.

Here in Tamil Nadu some of the well known university provides degree on Astrology and even PhD. If scientist reject astrology why would a universities in india do research on it and provide a college degree. I had my daughter 4 months back. I have beautiful innocent soul in front of me to which i cannot connect just because everywhere i read she and i are incompatible zodiacs ( Cancer and Sagittarius) The more i try to research on this the more depressed i feel. Indian Astronomy has been developed as a exact universal calendar. Time zone varies with areas but astronomical time is related to relative position of planets. Its was far beyond modern science or rathe we can call it the ancient science. Which was later used by few people to mislead others. Astrology is the study of planetary effects not results. Even if planets influence your life and your surrounding area, there is always free will which comes into play. The net effect is the results of all the factors which play out. I have personally studied and applied astrology to a number of horoscopes in the past and I feel that it is a great gift to mankind!

Indian youth really need to know about the scientific side of Vedic Culture. Also, explain the concept behind Vipassana Meditation and Quantum Physics, which has been derived from Buddhism. If Astrology is Pakhand then Yoga is Purusharth. Yoga means the union of consciousness and super consciousness.

Your video reminded me of a personal experience where my cousin, who has very educated parents, was forced to pursue MBBS even though she didn't get a seat in a government medical college. She had a passion for literature and had tried to convince her parents to let her study literature, but all her efforts were in vain. Her parents had consulted a family astrologer who had advised them that she would do well as a doctor. This was a classic example of how astrology can affect a person's life and career.

While there are demerits of choosing something purely on astrological predictions. But I have a controversial statement to make based on my own life experiences:
1. My grandfather was battling cancer. His date of birth was told to an astrologer. He predicted that I don't see him living beyond 3rd April 2013. And precisely on 3rd April at around 2 am he passed away.
2. I was in my B. Tech with many active backlogs. During the exams my mom went to a pandit and he said that next week he's going to get a job. While I had worked on other areas which did help me get that job, I would not have been shortlisted for the interview had I not cleared my exams. What do you say about that?
3. A similar instance happened during my MBA days. I had appeared for interviews for 15+ companies. I used to clear 5-6 rounds and then get rejected in the last round. One fine day an astrologer told my mom to make me wear a green thread on my right wrist. Upon doing that he told me that all my efforts will get recognised and I'll get there job tomorrow. And guess what? I got the job.
4. Once during my childhood an astrologer told me that I'll get cut on my left leg near the knee in the vertical direction in the month of November. And that's what happened.
Over the years I have dismissed astrology a lot. I know that correlation is not causation. But I've thought about all these events a lot. I haven't got even an iota of a reason as to why it is a correlation.
Now I don't know how these predictions have been so accurate. But guys! Good astrologers do not give vague statements. Only frauds give vague statements.

I don't watch cricket. The moment I saw a bunch of astrologers predicting a match made me feel so ridiculous and think how the sport has changed.
Let me tell you a story.
About two thousand years ago, in the northern parts of India, lived a mystic. It is said that most mystics choose to remain silent. This man, an enlightened soul, was not one of those silent ones. He had grasped his life perfectly; understanding the geometry and unraveling the cosmos. Revered and respected all around, people would come to him seeking solutions to their problems. Being an astute observer of life, he would tell them exactly how to approach a situation and overcome their obstacles. He was an absolute master of behaviors and would therefore predict how and what would happen in a person’s life with just a glance. He would not see any charts, not ask them about their stars or birthdays. He would merely look and foretell.
People started hailing him as the ultimate scholar of astrology as he would just walk across the streets, look at a person and out of nowhere seem to tell them whether the work they had set out on, would bear fruit or not. As people walked past him, as they stood by, he would just glance, make a deduction and astonish them with his predictions. So much so, that people would wait for that precise time for him to walk across their house and wait for his prediction of their day.
One day, the scholar was walking the streets and the whole crowd waited, for the master would now look at someone and make his prediction. But, the masters eyes were transfixed on this stranger in town coming from the opposite direction. As they slowly approached each other, the mystic looked at this stranger right in the eye and smiled. The stranger too reciprocated his smile, nodded and walked past. The man who would predict, was silenced. The crowd was stunned.
The astrology genius, who would just need to lay his eyes on someone, stranger or friend, and make a startling revelation, stayed silent. Why? How? Was he not able to read this man? Out of curiosity, the crowd gathered around and asked him about it.
Why did you go silent?
The mystic closed his eyes, sighed and smiled. He said,” What should I say to that man? He is on his own path. He is not worried about tomorrow. He does not mind if there are obstacles. He would walk past them. He does not need solutions. He has no behavior, no pattern, no identity. What do I predict? It does not matter even if I do, there is no way to know it would turn out to be true for him. He does not need the future. He does not care about it. He is the creator of his own will. The maker of his own life”
It is said, that after this incident, the mystic choose not to talk. He had understood that by predicting, he was making all the people around him, slaves to his intelligence. They were dependent on him rather than themselves seeking solutions.
The stranger was Gautama, the Buddha. As I said, the mystic chose to become silent. We do not know who he was.

The planets, the stars, the Sun, the solar system, even the object next to you do have their influence on you. Heck, the clouds that bring rain have an influence on your plans, don’t they? It is up to you to let them influence you. It is up to you to let them get to you.
If you are on your path, if you have chosen to be true to yourself and not associate with the morality or ethics or whims and fancies of the society, not be influenced by the factors that are not in your hands, not get carried away by wins or failures, and maintain a sensible balance of life, then what do you need any prediction for?
If you dig a bit deeper, you will understand that astrology was not introduced to predict a person’s future. It was it encourage a person on his/her endeavor in life. It was to help aid someone finding oneself. Your chart, your birthday, your stars and planets do not define your future, but, they were to help you mentally and psychologically go and achieve your goals.
You do not see the chart and decide what you have to do. Find what you want to do and then, look at the charts and find your motivation to keep at it. If someone tells you that you cannot do something or you will not gain something or you will not be happy with someone, they are plain wrong. They have no way of telling you what your happiness is. If your chart does not encourage you into going and finding your own happiness in life, well, then it has been read wrong. If your chart does not match your aspirations, it has been read wrong. It is not the other way around. Period.
Whether you choose to believe or not to believe, you have to work in life.
So create your own path, find your happiness, work on things you love and you will never need astrology. If you really still want to make it a part of your life, then go to it so it can encourage you to meet your ambitions.

To the older generation, this is an art passed down from generations. I have the same skill taught to me when I was kid on the foundation that the ancestors were taught the same things.
I've said multiple things against astrology in my early childhood, however I was ostracized as an outcast in my family, as someone who doesn't follow the light of tradition. Instead of spending thousands of rupees trying figure out who i was, I learnt this art as a hobby. Here is my take on it:
- Science reduced the bias of believing in hope. This goes the same for religion. Religion was the beacon of hope and created a sense of belonging in times when we could not comprehend the existence of our surroundings. There was time when the earth was theorised to be the center of the universe. (This is church science). Influence caters to the identification of facts. You could be factual only if you're opinions are accepted on a societal level.
Hence, astrology is a scam if you're taking this seriously to go ahead in life or to tackle real practical problems.
- By fact, sidereal astrology originated earlier. That's true but Bhrigu Samhita is believed to be the original which isn't even from our yuga or a generation close to the greeks. It's believed to be nearly the age of Satya Yuga and the origins of Manu, the first human (Each yuga is approximately 250,000+ years if I'm not wrong in Vedic mythological calculations of time.)
- I found it more valuable to study phenomenon that science could not prove, which is life after death of the human body. Meena Rasi is Pisces which is the 12th house, the natural decline of your life, shows death and spiritual pursuits of human life, the astral world or reality outside earth that most humans cannot access and secret enemies. I found that there is some rational belief to soul and existence outside the material world. There is a chance to understand your previous lives if you take a mythological foundation for your reasoning.
However, I felt there is a strong instinctive sense of prediction when it came to the 6th house, the house of debts, diseases and open enemies, job, daily routine (Opposite to 12th house, Kanya Rasi Virgo) It sometimes operated as beacon of light to take precautions against certain people or situations who misuse your words or actions and create hurdles. (Misunderstandings in open settings)
I completely agree that making decisions based on this is utterly stupid. Part of following your destiny is to take balanced actions based on your instincts and the foundation of proven reality.
Blind judgement proves fatal. But you could have fun predicting some things as coincidences.
Please don't ever take this seriously.
Use these aspects of religion and pseudoscience to theorise things.

It was just yesterday when I was researching all around the internet to stand my points against astrology to prove them to one of my close friends who is blindly following these astrology suggested ways . But the irony is that these processes are actually making her life tougher by deciding most of her important life decisions . I partially disagree with the this video. You cannot apply scientific principles on Astrology which in itself is not derived with these scientific equations. You need to use statistics over a set number of population to check its effectiveness. What is more idiotic is outrightly rejecting everything just because you know Newton's formula. Astrology is followed since ages because it was used to provide guidance on ambiguous decisions. There have also been ample research papers along with stats to prove it correct. And it is impossible to scientifically prove each and every planet's effect on different aspects of our life. That's why it is highly generalized. I understand your point of view too. Indians have blindly started following this highly generalized concept. It doesn't make it wrong though.

This is just a video which I got recommended as I had previously subscribed to the channel and not as a part of research . I had my own clear ideology about astrology much before I watched this . And I said that my friend was a blind follower because she actually never used her own rational conscience while taking suggestions from any astrologer . Everyone here needs to understand the difference between so called astrologers and real astrologers. These so called astrologers and apps like ASTROTALK polluted this industry badly as astrology is an art not like a shop or a business which can be passed on. Indian astrology begins with the Vedas, Jyotisha Shaashtram is one of the 6 Vedangas, the knowledge required to study the Vedas. Jyotisha Shaashtram is the root of Indian Mathematics but Jyotisha Shaashtram was not intended to predict future though later works of sage Bhrigu and Parashar deals with this prediction related areas. Ofcourse, there are some influences of planets upon us (sometimes it's a bit more) but ultimately our life is our Karma. Some better explanations regarding this can be found in _Autobiography of a Yogi_ by Paramahansa Yogananda.

But, India has its own Astrology book called Vedanga Jyotisha, which doesn't actually tell the future or past, it actually defines the position of planets. Astrology that is developed in Indian subcontinent where they see a person's kundali based on their time of birth and place is actually real. I have my own experience that I don't want to share bcoz it related to one of the biggest tragedy of my life. But ya it's real. And I'm not speaking here out of faith. It's based on my life experience.

Astrology as a science is not wrong but maybe the astrologer who is practising it is an amateur. People have made it business, that's a sad part tho. I am practising it for the last 9 years and still learning as it is so vast and deep. Astrology is not just daily horoscopes, it's way much more.
There are several layers of concepts which are applied to come to conclusions keeping aspects of overall transit in the sky, the position of the planet in the sky during the birth time of the seeker and to narrow it to the individual, which grah dasha is running over the seeker.
the saddest part is, People are getting fooled by bogus astrologers. Why don't they have an open discussion with one of them who are practicing because they see meaning in it instead of the babas. Sincere studients know and see things in life deeply than those half-baked, woke, peer-influenced by superficial knowledge of astrology. Real student and practioners are reaping the benefits of astrology to evolve and understand the deeper meaning of life. Vedic Astrology is not as much about predication and comparisons but about understanding the nature of the universe and how individuals can study and experience it to evolve themselves for liberation. There is nothing to prove, it is something to be experienced just like Yoga....you evolve internally which needs no proving to the world that it works. Yes it becomes pseude when you try to see it only as a tool of prediction.

Varun, I am an ardent subscriber of yours and have been always watching your content and sharing it out in my circle. Mostly they are very critical, well presented, and informative. However, please don't make a judgement on something that doesn't scientifically make sense yet (believe me there are a lot of things out there). You can talk about apps like Astrotalk and their business models out there which run on an approximate algorithm, but you must understand that Astrology is a completely different way of looking at human beings. I was a total atheist since my childhood believing in only that which science can prove, my sudden discovery of my own astrological predictions completely changed me into a person I am today. There is a lot more element to it if you really have the patience and time to go through texts such as Brhad Jataka. I know you won't vibe with these and neither is it necessary for you, but please don't misguide people on an entire subject based on two observations and data you have with you. I have personally known people (being an extreme level skeptic), who would look at you and would tell you what would happen to you in the next 5-10 years, and that exactly would happen. Just that these people hardly go online or try to show off, because developing this kind of intuition is a result of years of sadhana. There is a lot, lot, lot more out there than the crevices of logic and rationality our minds are stuck in. For that you need to explore naked, free and open, with lots of guts and patience and not be attached too much to just some figures.
Just to summarize, please enlighten people about business models and their trap, but please don't make a commentary on an entire subject that exists from centuries, without having a proper, in-depth knowledge of it.

Okay, read the comments, now sharing a REAL and GENUINE incident.
So the person, who suggested me to wear rings, based on astrology, firstly didn't take A SINGLE RUPEE from my parents, nor from anyone else. He never learnt astrology as a profession, but only as a hobby.
Secondly, he doesn't even talk to all people about astrology, nor does he go about giving free advices to anyone and everyone. He only discusses about it with close people, or anyone know who asks for it.
And thirdly, that guy himself predicted the "DEATH" of his own children. Yes, he feel asleep while making their horoscope, and had a dream , that he and his two sons have met an accident with a truck, and they all have died on the spot. After waking up, he checked their horoscope and found there was a real possibility. He cross checked with all his contacts who knew about astrology (they are professional astrologers, all well known). They had the same opinion, but also said that the stones he had given his sons will do the job and would protect them. NOW, the most interesting part. Both his sons, had a bike accident while returning home after tuition class of the younger brother, collision with an oncoming truck at a sharp turn, both dead on the spot, no helmets. TWIST, for some reason, both of them had no stones on their hands that day, both of them exactly same day, same time.
For the people very willing to level this as fake, some more details. His elder son was a college student, his younger son was in class 6 or 7. Still if you think he was too heartless to make up this story, he had 20 to 30 buses under his name, all working and running, and also earning a very large amount from his business. After that incident, he slowly sold off all his buses, keeping only one, and also, he didn't start any ASTROLOGY BUSINESS in the name of his sons.
How do I know all this, my father knows him since before that incident had occurred, and also, my father knew all the things happening in real time, from the mouth of the person himself, not anyone else. Also he was an active politician in Congress at the time of the incident, so he had many ways to earn money, but if you see him today, you would feel he is a regular old man, nothing fancy or rich, a middle class person.
Few more incidents, accurately stated my him, which he can have no clue at all. One, my mother had a minor accident and was admitted to the hospital. Second, my brother, a masters degree holder, wanted to go abroad for phd. Fun fact, even my father didn't knew about this fact, and my brother told my father about it the morning they went to meet this person, and he without knowing it beforehand, predicted it accurately.
Coming to the conclusion, there are two major facts in your videos. One, that this is a big scam. YES, absolutely true. I won't ever deny that people aren't scammed in the name of astrology. Wherever there is anything related to hope, there surely will be a scam. BUT the second point, that astrology is totally fake. I saw many people agreeing to this fact. Sorry but I don't, and don't brush off this opinion stating that I am not a person whom you are supposed to please. There is some reality behind this, I am no staunch believer or preacher, I too question certain things, but there is a saying, a few filthy fishes can make the whole pond dirty Here, just most of the fish are filthy, but not all. Friends, how much one says, that these aspects of Indian cultures are just superstitions and bogus, sorry to break your bubble, people can't be fooled for centuries, these facts are written in our ancient texts, and people have obviously gotten results to still keep on believing in this. So my only suggestion to you guys, if you are so sure, that this is completely false, please explain those situations where people have really gotten their results. Don't just brush things off by saying they are fake, just cause today's science is yet unable to prove it. Hindu texts provide scientific facts, which were also once said to be false, but were later verified by the same science that denied it. Being a descendent of that culture, which is rich in scientific knowledge, I don't agree it is entirely fake. Yes there are scams running in the name of astrology, but just citing wikipedia and calling it pseudoscience, please put ahead stronger points to argue.

Thought of commenting here because of several false statements quoted.
1. Astrology originated in Greece - As per wikipedia & Encyclopedia Britannica it's correct. Indian astrology is amongst the 6 body parts of Vedas and Astrology depicts it's eyes. Vedas are atleast 5500 years old ( based on the drying of River Saraswati which is mentioned in several places in Rigveda ).Moreover, its mentioned astrology was used to check the compatibility of Lord Ram & Sita in Ramayan, which dates long back even before Lord Krishna. Do we have to believe it was brought to India 10,000 years before to India!!! Yes, similar to India, different versions of astrology flourished in different parts of the world.
2. Date of birth & Time are considered: Even the place of birth is important. Dob is one amongst the options ( 1st - Sperm meets the ovary, 2nd - Shiridarsan, The first time when baby's head is seen, 3rd - Umbilical cord is cut )
Could have done bit more research before sharing such content ;
3. Planets gives the sufferings/merits: Here it's the trouble caused by translation of the word 'Graha' to English. Graha have multiple meanings; Graha - house, Anugraha/Nigraha - depicts the influence of someone.
Here the grahas & it's positions are to showcase the situations of life. It's not at all provided by the grahas ( planets). Even the sun & moon are taken as Grahas. Unfortunately several so called astrologers uses it as provided by the grahas.
4. Cricket & other Predictions - Readings based on Horoscopes are repeatable even by knowledgeable 10 astrologers in different cities. Predictions based on Prasna Jyotish are not repeatable or rational. It's like throwing a 12 faced dice. 12 people can predict 12 outcomes, & the same person may predict something else in the next throw. It's supposed to be used as a Psychological solution. Because most often people come with a problem & the astrologer returns them with another problem of doing certain rituals for 11, 21 days etc. And it may work like a Placebo effect.
5. Astrology & Astronomy are different & Astrology is unscientific: Indian Astrology has 3 parts - Astronomy, Mathematics & Prediction. Here the Astronomy & Mathematics are purely scientific; even the modern science discovered the speed, rotation & revolution of earth identical to that in Panchang; thanks to Indian astronomy & mathematics. Even the hour came from the word Hora. But the 3rd part - Prediction is not scientific ( Couldn't be explained by cause and effect). That doesn't mean the predictions are false.
Being a scholar of astrology, I realized it's a vast subject; that 12 years of studies may not be enough to complete it. I found it a very difficult subject to study compared to my Engineering or MBA studies. But unfortunately, this subject is being handled by people who are not even 10th passed. As per my learning, Indian astrology is an excellent tool to predict one's personality, traits, nature & several other things uf it's used legitimately.
I'm not in for a debate. It's a request to learn atleast the basics of any subject before commenting it. Here our speaker explains like a pro who researched thoroughly about astrology for at least an year.
The eyes of our Vedas are not for making money nor for predicting the outcomes. Simply because someone haven't met a good knowledgeable astrologer doesn't mean that he/she doesn't exist.

See, I don't believe in Horoscope and all but I still can't comprehend why my Grandfather was so correct and confident in his predictions. He wasn't an Astrologer or Jyotishi, he was a retired Army Officer. He never said things if anyone asked for it, he used to respond very strictly and told them to do their Karma. But he made predictions whenever he wanted after reading something from over 1000 pages wide Sanskrit books. Let me give one example.
I remember once he said about a pregnant cow in our village home that either the mother cow will survive or its half around 1 month before delivery even though the cow was fit and fine. But unfortunately she died within minutes after delivery. There are several such incidents. I still can't understand how he could get things so right.

One suggestion: Varun should show his kundli(actual details not made up ones) to an authentic astrologer live & then let's see his reaction. It's easy to discard some Indian thing to appear cool. Yes, it might have taken inspiration from Greeks. So what? we should discard Brihat Parashar text? As you already mention, Vedic astrology is way different than Western astrology. Also Vedic astrology does not sell any hope rather it tells you what it is. Secondly, you don't need to go for any prediction to believe in astrology. A good astrologer can accurately tell your nature, your parents characteristics, your spouse characteristics, nature of your job etc. Even they can tell at which stage of your life you must have come in a relationship among many other things. You can judge for yourself. Thirdly, when you give the case study of twins having two separate lives, you failed to incorporate the factor of past life karma. I also used to be a disbeliever but my life has taken the exact course as predicted by some astrologer long time back. Vedic astrology is a vast ocean that requires years of saadhana. Can't fit into a corporate presentation done after reading couple of random web pages. Also in such videos, you fail to give the view point of other side which makes your videos look biased and poorly researched.

Life is unpredictable. You try to write your own life.; You might fail in whatever you are trying. So Why bother and try to take burden of decisions to be made of our own life with our own choices when everything is already determined (विधिलिखित) which is best & safe bet.
Well, many don't see paradox here. Let's take example of Horoscope (राशी भविष्य) -
"Today you might face accident"
So that person will avoid anything that leads to accident. After end of day, he basically have rewritten his future by doing so.
But Horoscrope is solely based on movement of stars & planets which is constant.Then our planetary system is not gonna act differently since 1 from 8 billion human have acted differently than determined. How horoscope will predict future if he should be already dead as per yesterday's prediction.
So This is bit like Schroedinger's Cat problem. What you will do is already determined. But if you see the future and try to change it, How the Fortune teller is gonna predict the next to next day future since entire chain of events is disturbed. If you avoid to see your future only then future predicting can be accurate. So the basic phenomenon that future can be predicted falls completely.
"YOU CHANGE YOUR FUTURE IF YOU SEE YOUR FUTURE"
So in short, Your life is not determined from day you born and the day you die. Your life is getting shaped as you live through it.

I had my daughter 4 months back. I have beautiful innocent soul in front of me to which i cannot connect just because everywhere i read she and i are incompatible zodiacs ( Cancer and Sagittarius) The more i try to research on this the more depressed i feel. Time zone varies with areas but astronomical time is related to relative position of planets.
Its was far beyond modern science or rathe we can call it the ancient science. Which was later used by few people to mislead others.

Astrology is the study of planetary effects not results. Even if planets influence your life and your surrounding area, there is always free will which comes into play. The net effect is the results of all the factors which play out. I have personally studied and applied astrology to a number of horoscopes in the past and I feel that it is a great gift to mankind!
