Really like to see how well this works I think you should have the oil pump Scavenging oil out of the turbo. There's no way the oils going to go up hill and back into the canister without a pump... it's just going to end up blowing out the seals of the turbo. Turbos don't need oil pressure they need oil flow long as oil is cool and present and clean that's all that's needed for the turbo. If you're going to pump it into the turbo you need a bigger pump to pump it back into your Reservoir. So it's a lot easier to just gravity feed your oil tank above the turbo let it just flow down into the turbo and have a pump... pump it back into the tank.
You need also, pressure regulator, new cylinder gasket, extra injector in the filter box, fuel pump high pressure, you have to play with your sprocket camshaft and of course ecu remaping or you can buy some good staff from Dynojet to help you to do it.Good luck
you might be rite but its the smallest turbo on the market and I'm going to put an big bore kit on the motor to give it the best chance I can, will be fun trying ether way I like making things
I couldnt see why you had to go to the bother of the separate oil tank and pump etc. There is a tapping point below the carb nearer the crank casing which is used for an external oil cooler, this feed is for the camshaft. On mine I get a good 10 psi on idle and just over 16 psi running, more than enough for the turbo. Originally i was going for the draw through method but then changed my mind part way and fitted an EFI kit instead.
@@jesseremley6756 I used an Ecotron tutbo, the smallest they make, but I had lots of issues getting the turbo to spool up especially with fuel injection system fitted
cheers dude I love it, has been a bit neglected last couple of months thow, just got in a new rear tyre, disc, pads, battery, and flush front indicators so will be getting some love this weekend
Hey FezzTech, I am doing a senior project on installing a turbo on a moped, and I need to interview someone in order to finish my project. Maybe you could answer a few questions over email? If not, then don't hassle yourself. Thanks!
sorry its not a "kit" that you buy all together I brought all the parts separately mostly for ebay then had to do some fabrication welding ect to get it to run
I'm thinking it would probably work well with a carb from a 250cc motorcycle, with modified idle circuit, to lean out idle when there is no boost, the fuel at mid to full throttle should be about the same as the 250cc, around a 45mm carb, or maybe two 20mm carbs could get very interesting!
I have been looking at doing this to a lml star 200. Do you have a link of the turbo you have used? I have looked but there are so many different ones to choose from
This is great. I'm looking forward to more of these videos! I have the idea of building a turbo bike also. If you'd like, check out my channel! Let me know what you think!
Ryan Atkinson Sold the black ped still got the stretched frame and turbo kit ect picking up couple peds this week might finish the build off properly in the next few weeks
same oil as goes in the engine because usually a turbo will be fed oil from the engines oil pump I am running a separate oil system but still put 10w 40 in it
i got all the parts of ebay literally its 100% an ebay build am going to finish building everything over the next couple of weeks once its all together I will do a list of everything
its all seperate parts i have put together threre is actualy alot more than that, going to do another vid of me starting the build over the next couple of weeks once i get it all put together im going to try and put a list together of what is needed because think ive probably ordered stuff i dont need and missed bits.
most of it you can find on ebay the most expensive part is the turbo that's about £150-£175 depending on postage ect.. but its not all bolt on I'm going to have to do a lot of welding for the pipe work also a lot of wiring for the oil pumps ect, its a lot of work also cant really put it on a 125 as it wouldn't make enough boost so have to do ether a 150 or 180 big bore on the engine once ive done it all this first time ill have an idea of what it would cost to do it again
Yea there will be one soon I'm going to do an update video this weekend, sorry bin busy with work and other projects but am dying to get going on it now
Haha we in the philippine don't need to spend for turbo, 200cc engine scoot is enough for me to tune which can reach 120mph top speed. Tuning skills is the key. Spamsafe or moto phill seeing is believing

Pressure being the opposite of flow took a while to sink in for me in hydraulics.

What you need to do ... Is fast forward to the bit i didn't get to.
remember you need to build oil pressure. that pump you show is more of a circulation pump.
hey dude,.. you got the same bike i have, i got a blue 600R 08,.. nice red one

The inlet in the turbo is 24mm, so no more than 24mm carb is fine.
It's so cute how much
