I love big guns and I cannot lie, They're among my favorites to fly, The trigger I press, The targets a mess, With the second shot they go bye bye. I love flying the Derp Yaks, they can be so effective in removing unsuspecting prey. It gets harder to use the line as the targets move faster at the higher tiers, but they can always be a threat. Great video as always.
That's typically the plane you don't fly on bad days. Sometimes every shot fired hits its target and on a bad days you cannot hit a TU1 flying in a straight line. But the Yaks 9 are still better than the Ta 152 who was nerfed to hell so they can sell tons of Ho 229.
im a new player and randomly i went up this yak line. just specialised yak 9 and i love the gameplay. however, i switched over to the F4F and wow, totally different attacking experience. i still have lots to learn but yak 9 derp baby!
It was a bit hit or miss for me with this plane. If the big gun hits, extremely satisfying to play. If it doesn't, it is a drag. Didn't like the overall performance at all, not much manoeuvrability, underpowered, bad altitude performance... The tier 7 rectifies most of those problems.
So how do you get battles where the red team players are not always targeting you? I mean, just about every battle I fly in the red team human players are in human hunting mode all the time. Especially the really good humans that flight up in the morning. These players always are targeting me. All I can do is try to avoid flying the tiers they are playing in. Couple that with the "extreme rng" lopsidedness of the bots and be assigned to the dumb bot side and it's a no win battle for sure. Wg really needs to stop making WoWp be a "the team with the better bots wins" game. Why even spend time to work a build up to 478 calibration and spend more time becoming better at strategy if it can all be for naught because I was put on the dumb as dirt bot team. This game needs to have the random luck factor turned way down to let player skills determine the battle outcome. Yes, I do know that Wg doesn't give a rat's ass about "fair and balanced" (none of their games are balanced properly) so it will never happen here. It's just extremely frustrating going from winning battles because of skillful playing to then losing (same plane) because the the red has veteran bots and the blue teem has the rookie bots and you can't do anything to stop the loss (I know as I've lost Ace battles with 4+ sectors captured)..
It's not that they don't target me, they FULLY target me if they are humans. My recommendation is to always monitor the map, YOU want to dictate the engagement. You don't want to wait til they determine the interaction

Yaks are certainly more fun than the Ta152
