King Janamejaya listened to the story of how Takshaka prevented the Brahmin from reviving King Parikshita, but the question was "who is the witness to this happening?" So the ministers explained that a woodcutter in the forest had witnessed this extraordinary incident and later came to the palace and narrated this.
Now King Janamejaya was convinced that Takshaka had to be punished, but how? He discussed with his ministers and decided upon the unique Sarpayaga to be performed by which he would destroy not only Takshaka but his dynasty!
Did he succeed in it? Let's hear from Gurugalu. There's also the entry of a dog at the yaga, Gurugalu's explanation on it's significance is quite interesting. Please listen.

ಸರ್ಪಯಙ್ಞ ಆರಂಭ! ಅಗ್ನಿಕುಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳಲು ಬರುತ್ತಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ತಕ್ಷಕ !
ಜನಮೇಜಯ ತಾನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಮುಂಚೆ ತನ್ನ ತೀರ್ಪು ನಿರ್ದೋಷವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂದು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ ; ಪ್ರತಿಬಾರೀ ಜನಮೇಜಯ ಸಂದೇಹಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ! ಆತ ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ ಆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸಂದೇಹಗಳೂ ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲೇ ಮೂಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದುವು . ಇದೀಗ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ ರಾಜ ; ತಕ್ಷಕ-ಕೌಶಿಕರ ಭೇಟಿಗೆ . ಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಬಾಯಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು............
ಸರ್ಪಯಙ್ಞವೆಂದರೇನು ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ? ಮಂತ್ರೋಚ್ಛಾರ ಮಾಡಿ ಇಂತಹ ಸರ್ಪ ಬೀಳಲೆಂದು ಕರೆದೊಡನೇ ಅದು ಬಂದು ಆಹುತಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು? ಮಂತ್ರದಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಹಾವುಗಳು ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಹರಿದು ಬಂದು ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದುವು ಪತಂಗಗಳಂತೆ ಪಾವಕ ಕುಂಡಕ್ಕೆ !!
ಯಾಗಾರಂಭಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ವಿಘ್ನ ! ಯಙ್ಞ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಂತುಹೋಗಲೆಂಬ ಶಾಪ ! ಈ ಶಾಪ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಯಾರು ? ಒಂದು ನಾಯಿ . ಯಃಕಚಿತ್ ನಾಯಿ ! ಏಕೆ ? ಅಷ್ಟು ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವೇ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ? ಅದೇನು ದೇವಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಉದುರಿ ಬಂತೋ ? ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಶ್ವಾನ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಅಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಬೆಲೆಯೇ ಮಹಾಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ?
ಅಂತೂ ಎಲ್ಲ ಶಂಕೆಗಳೂ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾವುಗಳ ಮಾರಣಹೋಮ . ಸಾವಿರ ಸಾವಿರ ಸರ್ಪಗಳು ಬಂದು ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿವೆ ಅಗ್ನಿಕುಂಡಕ್ಕೆ ! ಚಿಟಿ-ಚಿಟಿ ಸದ್ದು !! ಸುಡುವುದರ ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆ !! ಬಣ್ಣಬಣ್ಣದ ಹಾವುಗಳು ಹಿಂಡು-ಹಿಂಡಾಗಿ ನುಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿವೆ ಸಾಯಲು !!!ಸಾಯಲೆಂದೇ ಸರಿ ಸರಿದು ಬರುತ್ತಿವೆ !ಅಸಹ್ಯ-ಅಭೂತ ದೃಶ್ಯ ! ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ತಕ್ಷಕನೇ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ? ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ತಾನೇ ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲ ಕಠಿಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ? ಏಕೆ ಬಂದಿಲ್ಲ ಆತ ? ಯಾರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಆತನಿಗೆ ? ಕೊನೆ ಗಾದರೂ ಬಂದನೋ-ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ? ಸತ್ತನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ? ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ಆಯಿತೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ?
ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತರಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಏಳನೆಯ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ !

I have this small confusion: In the episode-6, you mentioned that the saint who was coming to save king Pareekshita from Takshaka was “Kaushika Muni”. But, in this episode you mentioned him as “Kashyapa Muni”. I hereby sincerely request you to kindly clarify if that was Kashyapamuni or Kaushikamuni.

In the previous episode, Janamejaya asks Uttanka - " How did you come to know about the conversation of Kashyapa and Takshaka ? What is the proof? ". In this episode, Mantri tells the incident as the proof but How did Uttanka get to know about the incident ?
No . we don't know whether Uttanka knows or not .
Even though the question was asked to Uttanka , suddenly the minister had interrupted and told . This happens in day today conversation . Is it not ?

Namasthe. In Episode 6, it is said that KOUSHIKA was coming to rescue Parikshitha and that to get some Prathiphala. But, in Episode 7, his name is referred as KASHYAPA. Whether this Kashyapa and KOUSHIKA are one and the same... Whether they are the same great well known Kashyapa and Koushika Maharshis....If so, whether that person had necessity to sell his vidya by rescuing Parikshitha for some Prathiphala. Please clarify..
Not Kowshik ; but KASHYAP is correct . That mistake I regretted already .
This kashyapa is not one of nine bramharshis . He is an intelligent bramhin . If he helps some one and gets beniffited , what is wrong ?
