This is my new favourite RUclips video. Thank you Sean for having Wayne Grudem on. It was heart warming to hear from Dr Grudem and you interviewed him wonderfully. In a time when pop-culture writes off older people, I'm so warmed by the love of an elder in this interview, and I believe the younger generation will benefit greatly from sitting through this.
I started watching this interview tonight and recognized Dr. Gruden's name but not his face! Until his book, Systematic Theology, was mentioned and I turned around and saw it sitting on my desk. Now I know who he is and yes his book is huge. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview.
Thank you Tony for your opinion. I noticed your opinion is posted on several other comments to this video and all are pretty much the same. I will not agree or disagree with your opinion. I, just like the Bereans, will study God's word and seek out the truth as lead by the Holy Spirit. @Dr. Sean McDowell, Yes, you have some great guest - Nancy Pearcy, your dad, of course, and many others. I'm older, but just starting off in academia and formal studies of theology and Dr. Grudem is a name that shows up in many of the resources I use. (I'm a PhD student at LBC) My wife is worried that seminary will destroy my faith! Dr. Grudem's advice regarding growing in your faith is crucial. The vast majority of Christians will never study theology formally, but those who teach and preach really need a solid background. In addition, adding the practical application to all theological studies is absolutely needed as we both study and teach. Thanks Sean, for what you do.

Brother Grudem said that His God foreordained evil yet is not responsible for evil, like the Westminister Confession God foreordained the fall of Eve and Adam , that made all of mankind depraved and doomed to eternal damnation, including billions of Hindu's and before the incarnation of Christ etc and yet His God can justly judge all men and punish them forever for practicing sins that he foreordained them to do, and you seem to agree with this
JB,......Although WG is a 100% false teacher and is totally outside of the kingdom of God, Calvins understanding of salvation and mans condition is correct doctrine. The entire church is 100% apostate and has nothing to do with God. However, God/Jesus has predestined a few to become saved, these few are his chosen ones, and his elect. These have nothing to do with what the world considers the church. You like so many Godless people seem to think God has to answer to you and to what you have determined to be just, you are very much mistaken.

Esv is my favorite version so far. I do prefer at times some words used in the kjv. For instance in romans 1 with "reprobate." It will certainly be my best if they capitalized the pronouns like the nkjv. Sometimes I like that the "he" is figured out for me lol. Usually when I get confused I check the nkjv but it will be preferred if I didn't have to. Yes, you could argue I'm being lazy. It's my first time reading through the Bible. I'm sure it will probably be more obvious when I go through with the purpose of in-depth study. But for right now I am just reading along with other things, but definitely will be preferred if the pronouns were capitalized.

Quite a few standard evangelical assumptions there. Genesis 1 & 2 (at least) are NOT 'historical narratives'. That's an assumption on Grudem's part. It ignore's the fact of poetic parallelisms etc in the text. Not to mention the structure of the creation story, and that it clearly is a polemic against other Near Eastern creation myths. It really is not 'this is how it happened'.
