The slow process of a breakdown is never seen until its too late, it crept up on me until I blew a gasket, I didn't have a clue who I'd turned into, self-destructive tendencies became the norm, then wam, homelife gone, marriage gone, self-esteem gone, 20 years later, still struggling, but, dealing with it despite the painful memories and a day by day existence, I push forward with a view to help others I see going down the same path, the signs are clear to see when you've been there, just a odd word or a little nudge, can get someone to realise their potential downfall, keep up the good work buddy 👏

Knowing you need help is something I thought would be the hard part, but in my experience it is the easy part.
Finding someone that can actually help and not just talk is far more difficult.

Hi mate if you are still struggling to find help and support please let me know I can help with that 👍

  • @se7enity648

I know I need help, I know what the problem is, I even know how to fix it. My problem is this, Warwickshire have lots of people who will listen but nobody who can help you. Being a disabled person with MS in Rugby finding someone, anyone who can actually help is harder than you think.

Such a moving journey and one that the everyday man can relate too.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Thank for everything you for men's mental health.
I would like to see Andy Bishop from ManGang UK on next please. Inspirational man who is working tirelessly within Construction and Armed Forces to promote the importance of Mental Health and awareness of it's impact.

Big sites are the worse for it. They blather on about mental health for ages in the induction but they can catch you without your glasses on whilst you clean them and sack you on the spot and do so quite frequently on the big London sites. I don't mean to detract from what the fella in the video is saying but as far as I'm concerned it's all just window dressing.

      Hi Lawrence,
You are 💯 right! I worked in that world for 20 years and a lot of the time it is just tick box stuff but hopefully with the work I’m doing along with a few more amazing people and organisations we can have the impact that is needed to make the changes that are so desperately needed in the industry
Take it easy and I hope you are ok?
      Thanks
      Rob

Only good thing about bricklaying Laying bricks running in can be relaxing. If I was told I’d have to stack out and put the mud on the table build scaffolds and lay. I’d. Have stayedIn school. Probably going to end up homeless.having family in construction isn’t always good my people thought me nothing. Uneducated bricklayers are scumbags ima young guy and want to get my papers. I can feel the hate off other young & old bricklayers who were dragged up because I have family on site. All I every wanted as a child was how you get to that stage of life where you have a family and all that. No chance laptop class women are smart and see there’s no future with construction

Hi Padraig you are an amazing person and you can become anything you want to be. With determination, passion and pride you can achieve your life dreams, don’t think about what others think, think about how you want to better yourself and f-k anyone who is negative towards you because you are an awesome person. Qualification means nothing, did you know that most Billionaires are dyslexic and don’t have many qualifications it’s about there drive, passion and dreams have a awesome weekend all the best Tony 👍

      Hi Padraig,
Sounds like you have had a rough start on life in construction but like what Tony said you can be anything you want to be!
Oh btw I have dyslexia but I don’t let that stop me achieving the goals I want to achieve. 💪👍
